  1. FBD... do you have any thoughts on what I was referring to in my earlier post about the attitude of the defense?
  2. Reece Duncan was in the hospital, Berrong and Newman were out of town. those are the only people that were not there that I know of
  3. truer words were never spoken. I was very impressed with that band. I was not impressed with the CAK defense in the first half. Slant route killed us (not sure if that was the CB or the OLB fault) and the front 7 was getting pushed around. Offense wasnt great but they kept us in the game. 2nd half was a different story. the defense came to play with 2 picks and a ball jarring hit from the secondary and the front 7/8 played much better and basically shut down the kingston running game. Kingston scored late against the CAK 2's. We'll hafta come out a little more loose and excited next game. It seems like we're sometimes, especially on defense, a little tight and almost scared to mess up. Just a thought: the defense's best games have come in the pre-season, when it didnt really matter and they were just out there having fun and playing to prove themselves. Havnt played that way since, but they need to. They looked darn good then but havnt really been "themselves" since then. Any thoughts on what needs to happen to get the attitude back like it was? Or am I totally wrong?
  4. This game was back and forth the whole 1st half and I think the CAK kids were caught off guard a little bit, especially in the LOS. CAK wasnt going to be able to just go through the motions and win this one like they had against Sequoiah, and i think it took a half of hard fought football to figure that out. #35 for Scott was a real solid reciever and that QB is probably the best QB in terms of throwing and running that CAK will see all year. He put the ball exactly where it had to be and completed passes against good coverage from the CAK db's. The adjustments from the CAK defense during halftime really shut down the Scott offense in the 2nd half. it looked like the OLB's for CAK were dropping under neath #35 and taking away the short stuff from him and the corner's were playing good coverage downfield, giving the d line a chance to take down #10 which was very difficult to do. I I think it was good for our warriors to have to fight back after a poor 1st half and score 28 unanswered. the defense looked as fired up as I've seen em all year in that 2nd half.
  5. Scott may get a few big plays and get some points off the passing game/running qb who will make big plays. We'll see if CAK's defense can contain the big plays. Scott county's defense has the same challenge. whichever defense can contain the big plays will probably win the game
  6. I think CAK scored 42 on Scott last year and it seems like CAK is scoring more on everyone this year than they did last year. Granted, the defense hasnt played as good as they did last year, so i like BC's prediction, with CAK maybe scoring a little more points. I know Scott'll be confident and fired up for this one. If CAK tackles the way they did against Loudon, that Scott qb could run all over us and keep the offense off the field. should be a fun one to watch
  7. After the game I think we'll be able to say that the Warriors played like "ranked #2" team. Granted, the defense wont have its "problems" fixed after this game, but the effort will be there again, which is most of the problem anyway. If they dont.....
  8. right on 74. Let's not give up on our warriors and call for drastic changes after a game where they didnt come to play and got out played a little bit. it was one game, and they still won it. The defense will be ready to go. all of this talk, I'm sure, only motivates them. Does anyone know what Sequoiah is doing different this year to have won 2 games and score a lot more points?
  9. I'm not questioning these guys effort or talent. They are all great players who make big plays and are hard competitors. I'm just concerned about the mentality of the whole defense, and the D line happened to be the topic yall were talking about. The guys I mentioned are warriors, therefore I love em to death. The mentality of the defense needs to be similar to what college wrestler was talking about. it is true that the defense last year seemed to be more fired up to play. I hope this team dosnt take winning and playing the game for granted. any thoughts on this?
  10. Not sure what you mean shooter. The defensive line's confidence is probably waning, and that is not a good thing. This week during practice, hopefully they can get back to being their dominate self. In the pre season Fritz, Lenius, and Walker were all pleasant suprises but it seems they've lacked that "chip on their shoulder" attitude and have stopped playing with something to prove, because they proved it in the preseason. It'll be interesting to see how the defense responds to the challenge this week
  11. In no way was I trying to take a shot at Mark Bradely. I just thought that's what he was known as. And I was just messing with Sawdust. Let's get back to football
  12. I agree with all this. Playing with a "chip on your shoulder" is more valuable than people think it is and I believe the defense will practice and eventually play that way this week and hopefully the rest of the season. On the topic of people playing both ways, #5 and #7 both play significantly, with #7 starting both ways. On the topic of playing different styles of defense, I dont think we can expect much from Old Bradely, but he knows that coverage schemes must change to keep up with teams that pass the ball like Scott County and Betsy. We'll see what they do..
  13. "now the d can't be happy at all they have not put together the complete game yet" Was the Grace and/or Stone games not? Yall are right, the defense is not playing well, not tackeling well, and not playing with much passion. Maybe it starts in practice? Hopefully the coaches/seniors will get practice going and the intensity will carry over to the games
  14. CAK's defense is embarassed after last week. hopefully they turn it on against the chiefs and play the way they're capable. (Remember the Oak Ridge scrimmage, and the way they played then?) yeah i had almost forgotton too....
  15. Don't know much about Loudon's defense but I think 21 is a pretty reasonable prediction. CAK's defense is giving up about 12 or so points a game so it'll be interesting to see if they can stop this Plemmons kid. I know both teams'll be amped up to get this one going. Should be an emotionally charged game with big hits, big plays, and big fun.
  16. Biggest game of the year thus far no doubt. CAK's offense has been dominating but Loudon's defense must be pretty solid if Aloca barely had 14 points in the 1st quarter against them. Loudon's qb, Plemmons, does it all and is a great player. it'll be interesting to see how close to 100% he is for this one, coming off the bye week bc he's been injured a few times this year. CAK's defense has been playing more as a unit recently, but still need to get some consitency from one of the corner spots. should be a great game, CAK's been great this year but havnt played good at Loudon in the past few years. It'll be a fun one.
  17. The Recievers for Carter are both at least 6 3 - 6 4. 7 and 30 and/or 5 will have to have good position and high point the ball if they want to break up any passes on fades or deep balls. Carter's qb also looked like he could run the ball pretty well and scrambled out of any pressure he faced from the d line. Once again, the outcome of the game will be on the defense. I dont see anyone stopping CAK's offense right now
  18. Nice shout out to the pre game prayer FB Carter thread needs to get started soon....
  19. Couldnt've said it better myself. I take offense to your comments about "the elite of knoxville" and us looking down on you. chill out and come watch some high school football w/o any predetermined feelings of the people you'll meet at our school
