  1. You guys are talking about Cole Harrison, a 6'9 freshman, who can't move that well.
  2. When I talk about false hope, I do not mean that the kids are receiving false hope at the camps. The parents are receiving false hopes by these kids being supposedly ranked. Maybe the camp Directors need to explain to these kids exactly what the ranking system is and how it works. I've seen too many pretty good kids boasting about how they are ranked such and such in the nation and the ranking only includes kids who were at the camps. I guess education is the key. Hoopmaster
  3. Is it me or are these "Showcases" a way for certain individuals to prey on unsuspecting parents who think that the best way for their kids to get to the next level is to attend? Don't get me wrong, there was some talent at Vanderbilt but there was plenty who just donated their money for a false hope. To establish a true Showcase (Exposure), shouldn't it be invitation only with a major sponsor? It appears to me that a certain circle of people are hosting these showcases, ranking kids on the internet (JOKE), and raking in the dollars month after month. Parents, please get it thru your heads, that if your child works hard on his character, his education, and athletics, they will be a success in whatever field they land in. Don't allow these people to continue to rip you off on false hopes. If you are not producing on the court for your school team and in the classroom, you can attend all the camps, play on all the AAU teams, and attend all the showcases you want, it will not help you. Education is and always will be the KEY. Now, I could be wrong so respond anyone and lets start some dialog. Hoopmaster
  4. High Top Chuck Taylors should make a comeback this year. Hoopmaster
  5. Fly Eagles Fly! The Eagles will win this game with several big plays in the first half when BGA is fresh. I shutter to think what will happen late. The youngsters will get a chance to play. Our ground game is ready to go. Hoopmaster
  6. Back to Back State Titles in Baseball that is but that isn't the issue. The issue is hard work, dedication, and fighting for your teammates, never worrying about individual honor. One thing about losing the Big Game is that you must be in it to lose it. But even that isn't the issue. The issue again is the mission that is taught the kids and they value it. Athletics is only 1/3 of the mission. It's a great feeling knowing that everytime you play against another school in any sport, they view the game almost like a superbowl. That means we must be on top of our game always, in every sport. It's tough but it's an honor representing BA in that way. Another thing, young talent is not mature talent. Talent must be mature in order to play on the varsity level and contribute. Hoopmaster
  7. Dear Libscomb, For starters, I've seen the Harrison kid play and yes he is I hear about 6'8 right now. But the problem is your team from top to bottom. We have more quality depth I think. If Harrison would have played Middle School last year, the results would have been the same and to prove that, the next four years will be something to look forward to. Isn't healthy competition great? Will he play some JV this year because most of our freshman will be JV and this would be some time for a good friendly rivalry since they all know each other well? From what I understand several ofour kids and Harrison are actually friends. Good Luck. Hoopmaster
  8. Mr. Smith. I'm not going to bash BGA(the school) because I'm sure they do a good job with their students as well as all the other private schools do. I can tell you first hand though that BA does a great job at building unity among the entire student body with the goal of glorifying Christ, representing their families, and the school in everything they do. That is the main reason why they are so successful and most people don't understand that. When you really look at it, they don't have the best athletes in town in neither sport, but as a focused, unified team, they excel because they fight together. Take a good look around the school, there are not any championship banners hanging anywhere, even though they have won many. Humility. We get stereotyped because we have won big and I think it's unfair. If you speak to any BA student, one thing you will notice in them all is humility. Just for the record, I've spoken to some BGA kids and I've noticed the same thing and they have been respectful also, so kudos to BGA and any school and parents that are raising their kids right in this tough era. I say all that to say this, GO EAGLES and we are going to kick your tails on the field. LOL Hoopmaster
  9. Mr. Smith, I really did not want to respond to this useless subject again but I've been forced to. So here goes. What exactly is BGA good in? Not a player or two, but what is it they actually win at? BA has laid the foundation against you guys in years past and fear resides in your hearts. You best take advantage of us in basketball this season because if you don't, you won't see another victory over BA in any sport before Jordan graduates. So say your prayers and eat your vitamins. Hoopmaster
  10. Guys, we must stop this. We are giving wat too energy to BGA basketball and it ain't worth it. So let's call it quits. Why so much conversation about a middlle of the pack team. Now if you want to conversate about something special, that BA Freshman class is special in all sports so get ready for some titles in the near future. Hoopmaster
  11. Mr.Smith. I don't believe the conference is wide open. I think it's a race for the top 2. Ensworth and MBA, with MBA having the upper hand. Yes, you guys have a great chance to sweep BA this year, but you still have to play the game and I don't think you can. I say we split with each team winning at home. You know what, if you guys are not ready, we could win both. We lack scorers but we have so much heart that it's ridiculous. Tell Jordan to be ready because Weldon is a handful and will have another good year. Now to the Harrison kid. Will he be able to get down court with the pace of the game by his senior year because if not, no all state selection will be awarded. The high school game is all about tempo. Nobody will wait for you to get down court unless you are shaq, ewing, hakeem. or duncan. That is his weekness. Hoopmaster
  12. Thank you, For a second there I thought you were implying that BGA was up there with MBA and Ensworth. So your 6'9 kids, do you think any one of them will be all district by the end of their senior year? Will any get a D1 scholarship? Where do you think BGA finishes up this year. I'm actually a BA guy and our team will be so small this year with a shortage of scoring. Do you think you have the team to beat us?
  13. All the hype about playing the younger kids is wrong. Now Mr Smith, jordan is a good ball player, BUT, the 6'9" kid is not a factor. Why is it that a 6'9 freshman can exist in Middle Tn. and nobody is knocking the door down requesting this kid? Who is he, where is he from, what planet did he move here from? Are you willing to co-sign for him? I think BGA basketball wil always be average at best. Hoopmaster
  14. Antioch had a great team. What's the deal with Taj? Great physical specimen but why wasn't he in school this past season? Whatever the reason, I hope he gets it together because I'm an Antioch fan. Kyle is a great guard and was the key to thier team at Antioch. I predict he will be in the OVC. Does McAdoo go to the NFL? I believe so. I hope he's tied in tight the the North Carolina Family and wish him the best. Hoopmaster
  15. You know what? I just saw a 15u Memphis YOMCA team play and I take back everything I said. This team was great in the Nationals in Clarksville. Hoopmaster
