I have been wondering where "phastpitchphan" was hiding. Just lying in wait to pounce on CC's coach for not making the state tourn. I'm sure he/she could have taken them a lot farther. lol I was at several games this year and the CC girls are one of the great teams in the state. The future is bright @ CC. Be proud of the season you had!!

I would have thought with your infinite wisdom you could have seen that in your crystal ball and realized that the bozo who entered the score (yours truly) made a mistake. No, you just used it to poke fun at our school. Our team played two good games and there ain't no wishing in that, just hard work.

ASEP is the organization through which coaches are certified. The certification classes are required sometime within the first year of coaching and I think that goes for faculty or non-faculty coaches. Coffee Co. has a talented freshman pitcher Alana Lusk. She has spent a lot of time in the circle so far this year and is doing great. She can bring the heat.

I think the individual that posted the message I referred to knows who they are. It was entitled "Losers Week One 2010" posted March 10 by MrNoitAll. Sorry for not getting the name right.

During the past 2 years I have enjoyed reading most of the posts pertaining to softball in the mid-state. Many are right on, to the point and correct. Some posts would be better left unsaid (but that tounge gets us all in trouble sometimes). Some are down right funny, especially many of the ones posted by mrknowitall, until he has to get ugly. For what it's worth, I'm the coach (and by the way phastpitchphan I am a non-faculty coach so don't send your DD here) at the school with the worst field in Tn. as quoted in his post entitled "losers week one" and I pasted it below. (.F C Boyd . should have a lot of fans at this game because neither one is goin to be gettin out of district, matter of fact they NEVER have gotten out of district, just chalk her up as another losing season for both. Both of these teams have the worse fields in the state not just the Mid-State but the state. Now if you go start a lookin at MTCS football field and their baseball field you will see some of the best. I think they are a tellin folks that they dont care about them softball ladies. F C Boyd is playin in a pasture is the worse field in TN!) Even though we may have the worst field in Tennessee, I take pride in what I do and the school I coach for. It ain't all about beautiful state of the art facilities or the overflowing trophy cases you might have to make a school's athletic program special nor is it about the number of wins you have or all "the out of district" opponents you play, IT'S the KIDS and the experiences they have competing in the sports they love. Why on earth should it matter about all of that stuff any way. I know why, because so many people are so materialistic and superficial they lose sight of what really matters. I thank God for F.C. Boyd Christian School and all the athletes I have been privileged to coach. GO Broncos and Lady Broncos!!

UNFORTUNATELY EAGLEVILLE'S FIELD WAS TOO WET TO PLAY

TO FOLLOW UP ON MS24FAN'S REPLY, IT WASN'T ACTUALLY A VENDOR IT WAS ONE OF THE COACHES WHO WAS ATTENDING THE MEETING.

At a recent TSSAA rules meeting we were greeted by a person selling a nice bat warmer. It could be customized with team logo and colors. Seems like a great idea for those cold spring days and those composite bats, but according to NFHS they are illegal. The following was taken from the NFHS website: SITUATION 3: The home team has a box in its dugout designed to hold and heat numerous bats. The box has an artificial heat source and heats the bats up to 75 to 80 degrees. RULING: Heating bats alters the bat specifications, enhances performance and renders the bats illegal. Therefore, the bats are not permitted to be heated and the box shall be removed from the dugout. (1-5-1c, 7-4-2). Has the above ruling been changed for 2010? If it still stands too bad for those who purchased the $249 illegal warmer. Guess they could use it in the concession stand for hotdogs.

I CERTAINLY DON'T HAVE A DOG IN THE HUNT, JUST LOVE THE GAME. BUT, I SAW THE PITCHER FROM UNICOI KEEP THOSE "BIG HITTERS" FROM GP OFF BALANCE ALL NIGHT. SHE HAS THE BEST CHANGE-UP I'VE SEEN @ THE BORO.
