Does anyone know any/care to share names/numbers of good pitching coaches in the Northeast TN region within about a 100 mile radius? From Virginia down past Knoxville...... (High School Varsity Pitching)

What are the 2010 predictions for all of the Big 9? Who's returning, etc?? Hear there is a strong upcoming junior class at most schools.

Does anyone have any idea of who was chosen for the All-Conference Team??? We haven't heard a thing other than a couple of players....

Daniel Norris no doubt for MVP-- what a player---- Very strong sophomore class in the Big 9 this year period.....can't wait to see everyone play the next 2 years!

From former post yesterday::::""They want talent right here right now and they don't teach a blasted thing. Over in our area, Coach Payne has a baseball facility that is really used by a lot of our players for individual work and private lessons. I understand you also have one in Kingsport but it is "OFF LIMITS" to some of your high school players."" There is something gravely wrong with High School Coaches limiting or advising their players that a facility is "off-limits" when any extra and additional instruction can only improve the abilities that the same HS coach will be able to take advantage of the next season. Shame on any of the coaches doing this!!!! Obviously it is a power/control struggle.. Maybe these "facilities" are teaching /instructing better than the HS coaches can do on their own....... Sounds like to me a discrimination issue..... to be addressed.......

I've watched many of these HS players in the summer and they seem to play better in the summer travel teams (especially the hitting) then they are playing during school ball... ..... Why is that??? When the kids can play at East Cobb in the summer and are as good as anyone there and are younger than most , they should be more dominant during the school season. Is it lack of motivation???

I enjoy reading all of the posts, etc regarding the Big 9 but let's quit dogging the pitchers/players that you think aren't "worthy". There are alot of talented baseball players at all schools and all grades in this area and let's promote instead of criticizing these kids.... You have to remember when talking about these pitchers that there are 3-5 years difference in some of these pitchers sitting on the same varsity team. Hard to compare a 14-15 year old to a 18-19 year old throwing 90 + miles per hour. The negative posts are being read by the players in this area as well and at their expense as how would you like to read about yourself as a 15-16 year old and it all be negative. Let's promote these baseball players in this area as most of them are fine young men and good baseball players! They wouldn't be sitting on a varsity team (in most cases) if they weren't worthy. Look how many of the kids in this area are going on to play college baseball! The competition in the Big 9 this year shows how many good players we have in this area!
