  1. Sorry for the long post, but it was my first and I had a lot to say. 1MOREOPINION.....VERY WELL PUT!
  2. Well deablo, you obviously have a child in the three sports and are also a member of that "core group" which could very easily tell who you are. My impression was that you had to be a football team or cheerleader parent to join, at least that was what I was told years ago, sounds like that may be an issue you need to get clarified to the community. Also, has it always been less than 10 people attending or just in the last couple of years...you may want to see how or why your Hoops and soccer club leaders are getting more participation in the meetings than your stadium club. Second, are you saying that those few parents are the only parents that contribute and matter? How do you know that I have not made multiple contributions to that football program over the years because I do support the Halls program whether it be straight out right monetary donation or by purchasing through fund raisers that i am approached with. Are you also saying that without those five or six people that there would be no fieldhouse? If memory serves me correctly, without community participation/donation there would not be a field house, not just because of the five or six people. I see several people who contribute to the program on a constant basis by filling the stands, by purchasing items through the concessions, purchasing items through fundraisers, purchasing tickets for the gate. You need to realize that you don't have to be a parent of a football player to contribute to the program. You also need to realize and also be "very" careful not to shake the finger and pretend innocence that you yourself have not voiced "your" opinion. So deablo, let me tell you what I have done for the program, I have attended numerous games over the past several, several, several years. I have paid my own monetary contributions to the program. I have purchased numerous items through fund raisers. I purchase a ticket for myself and my family each time I pass through the gate. I purchase items in the concession at each game. All of this was by being a fan and a community supporter, not because I had a player which sounds like is your definition of a contributor. I hope that answers your question as to what "I" have done for "your" program. So when my daughter, who by the way has grown up with these boys, is married and has kids one day, maybe then I will have a grandson on that field and I will "still" be there watching Halls football. I will again state that I wish the coaches and boys the best of luck in the upcoming season and I will be there to watch games.
  3. DEVILSDEN I assume your bringing this back up to me - We all know rumors are going to be more vocal when there are games going on. I will say there is only one person who can stop any rumor of KJ leaving and that is KJ himself. Unfortunately I didn't get to attend the Red & White game, but just by talking to a couple of people, it sounds like KJ seemed to be at home like nothing ever changed. So, lets hope he is staying and that Halls has a good season. From what I understand, the R&W game was a good game and the kids looked good. Glad to hear. Look forward to some "good" Halls football this year and wish the best of luck.
  4. Due to Halls playing Anderson County this year, what are some comments or possible replacements that anyone has for the second new replacement for football coach since Lambert resigned yesterday?
  5. [Devilsden, I posted a question to the R&W game the yesterday but only got a ridiculous reply from a Moronicus - fitting. i didn't get to make the game but heard it was a good game on both sides. Who were some of the key players that stood out on both Offense and Defence on both the Red and White team.
  6. I agree with you on both statements. I never said that KJ should do what the parents ask. My statement was that there were a "few" that he played that are decent players but that there were a "few" that were better and that because of the parent involvement, the others did not get the chance to give what they got. I also agree with you on the second statement. I agree, why don't he call the plays. There are a handful of things KJ and the coaches could do to make it better with little effort. I say throw the ball and lets see what it will do for us. I think there are some outstanding players on that team and I don't think some of them are given the chance to show their full abilities. So, Devilsden - all in all I agree with you!
  7. Moronicus - Sounds like the perfect job for you!!!! I hope you enjoyed! I am finding it interesting as to the reason for the defensive returns of comments, sounds like some things are hitting home to a few people.
  8. Guess that means your kid was one of them Moronicus...thanks! Now to others that have the sense and not so defensive...how was the game?
  9. What players had good defensive and offensive games on both the red and white?
  10. I wasn't able to attend the R&W game. How did it go and who were the key players on both Red and White? Heard some good things about the team and that they looked really good on both sides. Just curious....
  11. No, Ithink you answered them. I appreciate you comments back. I will say I absolutely agree with you on Ward, bring him back or at least let him give the guidance and training. I do believe it may be a little better this year as I am told that Hassell is in more control of the calls as to what plays instead of Williams. So, we'll see. I will add that if you are former player that you know as well as anyone that regardless of what the assumption is on if there really is politics being played in regards to what time is put in by the parent, all knows it is true. There are some parents that volunteer because they genuinely want to help a program out, and then there are parents who volunteer just so their kid will get more playing time. I have heard some of the parents "themselves" speak out loud that they will do what ever it takes to get their kid on the field even if that means having to do everything there is to do with the program. There are some parents who would never speak that outloud but by watching can see that is what the real deal is. Now whether you are a former player from years ago or "just last season" , I will tell you that having talked to "several" players and parents that KJ did not and has not addressed the players on his intentions of what was going on with Catholic. He addressed the coaches, but not the players. I would never fault the man for wanting to do better for his family. There is not a person out there that would turn down bettering his/her family for their future. Now I will say that I agree with you on the fact that he is staying. I believe that the Catholic deal is over for this season. I believe he will be staying for the next football season but can't say much from that point on. So Devilsden...thanks for your reply and I guess we will sit back and wait to see how it goes.
  12. DEVILSDEN, I noticed you bypassed this message back to you, but I'd still be interested in your reply. HallsNeedsIt, Typicle parent that is upset that your little boy aint playing enuff to suit you. Let the coaches make the choice of who plays and who dont. Now if we go and win the Region this year, you will vote KJ as the greatest. That is two faced. The thing that I was bothered about, was that KJ was leaving to go to Catholic as an assistant. Now that that situation has been solved, I moved on and am not worried about the direction of Red Devil football, EXCEP for the person calling plays on offense. If it is still the little feller, we are in trouble. No matter who calls plays or weather KJ is the coach or not, one thing is certain. Parents will gripe and complain about there son's playing not enuff to suit them. [/quote DEVILSDEN...it is also a typical reaction for you to speculate that only a parent with a kid on the team can have concerns about what is going on. As I said in my first post that I have watched Halls football for years and will continue to do so as long as I can. Just because I make a post on here, does not mean I am a parent whose kid (as you put it) "little boy aint playing enuff". Sorry to disappointment you but I don't have a kid on the team. If my kid did play, I really don't think SHE would get very much playing time. My opinion is formed by observation and by watching kids I love and have watched for years and know the ability they have to be left on the wayside, and also by listening to "you the parents of players". I could go a little farther to say that you could be very defensive in your reply because you are one of the parents that is working their tail off so their kid can get on their playing time. That can go both ways. To your second comment, I agree...get rid of the little feller! He has no respect for those boys and they have none for him. Last...is it resolved? Is he staying? There is still comments going around that "he is gone after spring practice"...or "he is gonna leave before school starts". Has he made a public announcement that he is staying? It is my understanding that he has yet to address the players who work their tail ends off for HIM daily what he was planning on doing or is planning on doing. If he is staying, then it is up to HIM to show those boys the respect they deserve from him and make a vocal announcement that he is or is not staying with Halls High School.
  13. ZCAR....that was my point precisely as to the ones a coach plays and the ones he don't...point made. There were some that could have been played instead of "some" that were out there and done a better job regardless of who the kid was. That was a comment in general as to who the coaches were playing by proof of last years players. Just hoping he doesn't make the same mistake twice...the kids don't deserve it.
  14. Thanks Bigtonykilyou. I agree with you! Confidence is still questionable because the community is still talking that he is still going to leave. So, who knows but him?! There are a few changes going on with Halls that I hope will benefit them and they can do great things....that is "if" KJ puts the kids on the field that can get the job done and not the kids whose parents do the most volunteering. There are a couple of changes as far as the responsibilities of a couple of coaches, but as far as a Major overhaul, not seeing that yet. Halls don't necessarily have the size this year, but they have some really good players. We all hear that size matters but only in certain situations. By listening to the community members I am assuming he needs to look deep in his hat and look at those kids who are players but that he keeps on the sideline. You don't win ballgames by who the parents are or what they do...that would just be selling those kids short and putting an expectation on them that they can't handle. I heard that over the ridge they were trying to recruit some players back there due to losing so many players. Hopefully we will play some good ball between the ridge and down emory road this year.
