  1. Wasn't the WBHS coach the District coach of the year in 2010? Is it possible that the competition in D4 has improved this year? Sounds like some Pollyanna's and their moms/dads have some hurt feelings at WB! As for your last comment re HS being "practice" for travel teams---yeah, we should just do away with HS minor sports and let the travel teams play year round because that is how our girls can get the big $$$ for scholarships at East Dakota State College.
  2. OK I'm confused??? Everyone on this list has HC experience except Stallings. She got the job from her AAU experience. I don't know much, but is that the same as HS experience? From what I can tell, AAU teams get the best players from several team (an All-Star Team).. not much practice. Just play games and next year you need a better guard go recruit one. HS coaches play the hand dealt and develop supporting players. If you look at Stallings HS experience... Central High?? It seems that they only had 6 players at the end of the season and had 1 win season in 10yrs. Wow I think the other names on the list were a lot better.. Did they not want it or is she the best for the job... Cause I have seen Coach Young coach and he does an awesome job and is a great man. Coach Lambert has a proven track record.. With that being said and the comments about parents in Seymour is she the only one that would take the job? I have also heard someone from Maryville's boys team interviewed... was that the one that coached at Maryville College or the one from the State Championship team??
  3. This is typical Lenoir City garbage. I am still not sure why the majority of parents that obviously did not have a probelm with Coach Lee did not threaten to take their kids somewhere else in order to keep him. I still cannot believe that LC parents live in oblivion about their possibilities to win. News Flash: You Never Will!!! You had a division I Boy's BBall player this year and did not get out of the Region. I guess that was the coach's fault as well. I have listened to people talk about the ignorance that comes from Lenoir City, and now this proves those points! Who do these people think they will get? It will be some no name coach, from some small school, who is too stupid to know that LC is an athletic vacuum. Coaches beware: if you go to LC, you will ruin your resume and your career. I don't care who you are. Maybe if they try hard enough, they can get Pat Summit to come down. If LC is as talented as all these parents say they are, then surely Coach Summit would know that it would be a great opportunity! This is a sad day in not only LC and in girl's bball, but a sad day in high school athletics all together. You all have gotten rid of someone who did wonders with the small amount of ability he was dealt. Good luck to the moron that takes that job over! Maybe you can get Windel to move over to girls! Good luck Coach Lee, you did it the right way, and that is all that matters now!!!!
  4. I have been told that it is up the the regions how and where they run the tournaments. Someone told me that Region 2AAA is allowing the higher seeded team to host games. They said this was T$$AA's idea to generate more ticket sales. They said that it was up to the coaches in the region to setup the format and vote on it. I don't know if that is right or not, can someone that is in the know fill me in?????
  5. Guru.. I didn't even have any ties to a team in the tournament, just a fan of Girls' Hoops. I have always heard that The GreenBank Classic was a showcase of talent. It is a great combination of teams. I was very impressed with Mt Juliet and became a fan of how well coached most of the teams were. I even enjoyed how the whole community embraced the tournament. I will return next year and I'm sure the refs will be there again. I just was extremely disappointed in the officials. I realize some calls are missed just like shots, but it was just bad. I even said I don't think it was in favor of any team... just bad all around. I just didn't think it was equal to the billing of the tournament. Don't be a hater.. unless you were one of the refs that was as wide as you are tall..
  6. I don't know about that game, but I saw a dozen or so games. The refs were horrible. They would be out of position and still make a call because they thought it may have happened. And the walks.. geez. Ever game I would see 2 or 3 walks called that were in no way a walk. Several of the refs were unwilling to give explainations to coaches for calls. I feel sorry for the districts that have to use those refs. Half of them were out of shape and if it became a transition game they would slow it down with a bogus call. I do not think it was called in favor of anyone (but the refs). I even heard from one of the locals that Greeneville's Boys coach (Duncan?) will not even use their association for home games.. wow if that is true.
  7. I saw part of Maryville's game with Webb saturday. In my opinion Maryville looked very selfish and unorganized. Don't get me wrong they have tons of talent. Of course this is a scrimmage, but only a couple of players looked to be playing hard. It will be interesting to see how they do against Farragut and Bearden.
  8. I know that 2 games need to be played, but 6 teams are waiting to make travel plans... does anyone know.. do we have to wait until Monday to know???
