  1. CAK deserves all the respect in the world. Any team that can start from scratch and within a decade be unquestionably a top 5 team in 3A has to be respected. I know the team and the coaching staff will not be taking the Warriors lightly. As for the game action our defense will need to come out with a different look this week to matchup with the multi reciever sets CAK will ome out with. In my opinion the game will come down to our DB's conditioning and our offense chewing up the clock. If we can control the clock I think we have a very good chance, if not then the chips will fall where they may. Regardless this group of young men have been something special.
  2. Great win tonight for the Cats. This might have been the best defensive game I've seen. Tyner has nothing to be ashamed of. Now we move on up the road to Knoxville. Good luck Polk.

  4. FootballDad I'm just wondering, do you guys usually bring a big crowd when you travel? I'm just asking because I'd love to see CAK or Alcoa come to the Chattanooga area to play. Good luck against Kingston and hopfully Polk will play well enough for us to come visit you all next week so I can buy some of that banana pudding I've read so much about.
  5. According to one of the Polk coaches only Tellico and Notre Dame are dropping us. Chatt Christian wants to keep us because it brings them a big gate. So unless some thing changes Polk's schedule will be in no particular order: Bradley, South Pitt, Walker Valley, Meigs, McMinn Central, Sweetwater, Sequoyah, Signal Mountain, Chatt Central, and Chatt Christian. Personally I was hoping for us to pick up C.A.K. or Cleveland, but it looks like an improved out of district schedule.
  6. They will be playing Rhea County at Carson-Newman.
  7. I think Polk gets the win in what should be the best opening round game in east Tennessee.
  8. Gerry, how does Sweetwater losing effect their playoff chances?
  9. Congrats to Sequoyah on the big win.
  10. I hope we make a good run, these boys deserve it.
  11. #11 backed Couch up at saftey and was in the rotation at Splint End with Josh Cain and Justin Rongey. And that Jones boy was fast.
  12. I'm pretty sure I know who you are and if I'm right you know me.
  13. All I was saying is that it seemed we just couldn't get that win over the Rams. I am looking forward to the game if it happens though. Those Tyner teams when I was in school (99-03) were great. Marquice Craddock and Demonte Bolden were awesome.
  14. I graduated with Shane. He was great player and a great teammate.
  15. Maybe we can exorcise some of those demons from the late 90's early 2000's. Regardless it will bring back some bad memories seeing the Rams come to Benton.
  16. Well here is the link were he talks about being a member of the panel. I guess he figured he wouldn't be hosed again by the system, which him and his team were. I'm just saying that even with him on the panel that made the changes it would have been hard for him to have foreseen this years circumstance and he does have every right to be upset. http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2010/oct/15/hargis-little-set-prep-playoffs/
  17. Coach Turner was one of the coaches who worked with the TSSAA on improving the playoffs.
  18. To be honest I'm not really sure. They've changed to an option style offense that doesn't really seem to suit them. They are also very small and I mean small. I really hope they improve in the off season because I'd love to see our district become competitive. Wish Polk still played the valley teams every year like they did when I was in school, but I sure don't miss the travel. Good luck to the Indians in the playoffs.
  19. Sequatchie will score as much as they want on McMinn Central.
  20. CBHS, I know this is off topic, but is Basin's schedule going to be pretty much the same next year. I know you are not playing us which due to past events is a good choice by both sides. Good luck to the Cougars against Boyd and in the playoffs.
  21. I agree with you. I'd love to see Coach Davis expand the offense a little. Maybe add a few wrinkles into the playbook to keep teams from putting ten men in the box.I'm not saying we should abandon the power game just mix it up some. Just my opinion.
