  1. Wow.....LB's knocking out opposing ball carriers, offensive weapons all over the field. I'm not sure Beech should even show up. We are just a bunch of undersized sophs. and jrs. that have fun playing the game.
  2. Columbia, according to some on this thread, has a great defense, particularly against the run. But yet in their first three playoff games chs averaged giving up 30 points per game. I'm interested to hear how this happened.
  3. I don't know much about Columbia, other than they have a good receiver who has committed to Chattanooga, I think. According to Coach T, they are ranked higher than Beech, but their schedule has been considerably weaker. Of course, the Tennessean has not ranked either one of them as a top ten team in the midstate. Beech doesn't impress anyone until the game starts. They have rushed for 419 and 375 in their last two games, with two different backs rushing for 100+ in both games. It looks like two very solid teams that are both peaking at the right time.
  4. Does Tech have sports turf or natural grass?
  5. Let's get it going. Is there anyone who has seen both teams play?
  6. Wow.....maybe Beech can crack the Tennessean's midstate top ten for the first time all year. Naahhh, probably not.
  7. Does everyone in Memphis run the spread? It looked as if they had never seen a speed sweep or misdirection running play. 419 yards rushing, are you kidding me? Either their talent was overrated, or they have never been taught to tackle. They generally had 9 or 10 in the box and Beech still imposed their will on them at the line of scrimmage all night long. When you have two backs with 150+, either the talent missed the bus in Memphis or the defensive coordinator has lost his mind. Also, those had to be some of the poorest excuses for on side kicks I have ever seen. Beech has not done a good job handling those all year, but when you kick it out of bounds or 20 yards deep it aint that tough. Coaching.......??????????
  8. For those who can't make it to the game, you can hear the internet broadcast at nhsbn.com. I agree with a previous poster, the winner of this game wins it all.
  9. As for strength of schedule, according to coach t, Beech had the 63rd toughest schedule and Mitchell had the 70th toughest. So at least in one objective measure, Beech's schedule was slightly tougher. I have no idea about Mitchell. They may be the greatest show on turf. I do know Beech will show up and play hard.
  10. Oh I am man enough to get on here...sorry I don't live on here 24/7 like you do... I actually have a job, which you probably don't know what that's like since you're from Hendersonville. Beech, I give them credit...they played a great game. Gallatin beat themselves with the 2 turnovers...and the officiating was bad. Gallatin should have won...plain and simple...but Beech, great job. Good luck against Mitchell, you're gonna need it. Crack, thanks for your concern over my job status. I actually do have a job. You might be surprised to know what I do. "Gallatin should have won". Quotes like that are made to make you feel better durnig the off season. I hope it works out for you.
  11. I'd have to say Enriques Perry is the best back Beech saw all year. What year is he? Is he getting any attention from college coaches? There was a Perry that played for Gallatin about 20 years ago named Perry that I think went D1. Is Enriques related?
  12. Heck, I'm sure Mitchell has nothing to worry about. Beech isn't even one of the ten best teams in the Midstate according to the Tennessean, and they are never wrong. Based on their rankings, Beech couldn't beat a good AA team. So I'd say Mitchell should probably go ahead and make reservations for Cookeville.
  13. I too would not be impressed with Beech by just looking at their stats. And if you come to the game you will say the same thing during warmups. I hope your players and coaches feel the same way.
  14. I agree 88. I have been disappointed in the crowds all year. I don't know if it's because the school doesnt' have a city's name attached to it so that more people will identify with it or what. They obviously dont have the tradition that Gallatin has. The student body, as a whole, does a terrible job. There are some die hard students painted up at every game, but there are a lot that just choose to do other things. It's the same in basketball. But you are right, these boys deserve better.
  15. Watch out for the next few years in Soph E. Walker - saw a few clips of him for young kid very good vision and speed I have said patience and vision are Walker's strong suits. Not a burner, but has a nice burst when the hole opens up. He would have more yardage this year if not for some injuries early.
  16. It's funny how the biggest Gallatin smack talkers, RedVenom, Squashwave, Crackalack, etc., are nowhere to be found after they get beat. I guess the Cat got their tongue. Oh well, wave1 and 88 are man enough to post after a loss. It's been fun jousting with you guys this year. We invite you all back to Shackle Island next week for what will hopefully be a good game. I hear Mitchell is loaded with athleticism. I hope Haymer and Hailey are healed up by next Friday. We're going to try our best to get another 9AAA team in the finals.
  17. Coach Lassiter is whining about the officiating in the Tennessean.... Come on Coach, you're better than that.
  18. Wow! What a game. I thought the MJ game was the best high school game I had ever seen, but this one ranks right up there. Haymer is a thourougbred (who will be back next year), Walker runs with great patience and vision (sophomore) and Sites is just a flat out beast. He plays both sides of the ball with as much heart and "passion" as anyone I have seen. He also showed his speed on the td run. I hear the big boys are starting to sniff around for his services next year. Jamie Howell and Wes Aiello and all the boys in the trenches flat out dominated the vaunted Gallatin D. With the game on the line with 8:00 minutes to go, Crabtree took the ball and said we are going to run it down your throat, stop us if you can. Safety/RB Brock Haley suffered a concussion. Hope all is well with Haymer after the wicked hit he took. I was not aware that it was a rule in HS that when the runner's helmet comes off the play is immediately blown dead. Congratulations GHS on a great season. You were back where you belong making a deep run in the playoffs. Lassiter and Co. are first class. Someone on another thread commented on the quality of coaching in Sumner Co. You won't find four better coaches in any county in the state than Crabtree, Lassiter, Hatfield, Porter.
  19. BEECH!BEECH!BEECH!BEECH!.......BUCS!BUCS!BUCS!BUCS!
  20. I think last year's team was better than this year's. It took the eventual state champ with the most speed I have ever seen on a high school team to put them out. Not to mention that this is the youngest team I have ever seen Beech put on the field.
  21. Wow.....maybe the Henry Co. fans and Gallatin fans should get a room. I've never heard such a love fest. It must be really boring in HC.
  22. Bucs by 13 over Independence.
