  1. I was not saying people shouldnt be posting at all. I was saying they are posting, stating things that are not true, things in which they have no clue what they are talking about. And all this talk about us quitting as a group. Yes, we did basically quit as a group. BUT we had a meeting with ALL the previous players minus the graduating seniors, and as you know the three upcoming sophmores decided they wanted to play. So they did not quit. Therefore, the choice was made individually. The other six of us thought on it to ourselves, we re-met and they ones who no longer wanted to play talked with our principal. We were told the situation was waiting on meetings through the school board, but if we were quitting, coach wright needed to know then, and we needed to turn in our jerseys, and we did. I did not rely on the others decision when making mine. It was one of the most difficult things I had to do, but I did it because I honestly can not go through another year like last season. It was a waste of my time! You say we could make ourselves a good team despite the coach. How do you figure? The coach calls the plays and defenses. What coach wright said went. & I think about how I am gonna feel 10 years down the road. Whether i'll regret it or not idk.. & honestly you may think thats what you would tell your daughter, but your daughter did not play for coach wright. Your opinion could have been a little different in that situation. But there is some on here putting our "skills" down. They agree with coach wright on the no talent thing. Which is not true at all. There was talent there, it just wasnt used right.
  2. Dr. Enough you can't stay away from the Unaka situation can you? You blast us on a E-town Hv post now? what class from a grown adult. I don't think Coach Dugger is recruiting anybody, Cara & her family most likely made this decision on their own for more opportunities, & I don't think Coach Dugger would turn her down. Players from E-town may or may not get mad about her decision to move. Hopefully they can all just bond together & have another great season. I know what kind of player she is, she will work hard for her playing time. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  3. with coach wright coaching there is no future for the lady rangers.or not much of one. period. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  4. Yes, you are correct. There was much time and thought put in the decision of quitting. It was a hard one, but we feel like its best for us. We can focuse on other things, like more study time, or another sport. I must say I am really going to miss the game, the fans who came to support us, and many other things basketball brought to me. I loved playing it and me and my other teammates put a lot of time into it the past few years. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I just wish things could be the way they were my freshman year, but they wont ever be close to that again. We split with Cloudland, Hampton, North Greene & won some other pretty big games. We also got 2nd in our conference. We had a very successful summer, we lost i believe 4 games out of twenty some. (we were playin BIG schools too). This past season was disasterous, it is no secret to anyone who watched us. It just really bothers me the things people are posting, putting down our talents. We may not be "All-Americans" ( DR. ENough) but I do believe we are just as good as most around here as individuals. I improved tremendously over the last summer, because I worked my butt off in the gym day in and out, just like my other teammates. I may not be the greatest player, but i can play, and I love to play the game. It is honestly killin me not being at camps right now. I wanna play, but I am not going through another year like last year. I don't understand why some of the posters on here, who are grown adults, would sit there and put kids down. This whole situation has gotten way out of hand. It makes me sick to come on here and read some of the things posters have posted towards us. Most are from other areas like Unicoi. How do you figure you even know whats going on to have any business in posting things like you do? Not only Unicoi, but other schools as well. You guys have no clue of the situation, except maybe in bits and pieces. I'm just tired of looking at all this mess on here. it concerns Coach Wright, the players, & parents. not everyone else. If anyone has questions to the 6 who have quit. Ask us, we are frequent posters on here. Quit assuming things & just find out from the real sources. And for the ones who say we will wait & come back, WRONG. Our decision is final. I will play somewhere else or not play at all before I come back and play for Coach Wright.
  5. in the post you quoted i was not referring to the summer game. i was referring to some games in the last season. you beat us pretty good on the season but not 66-14, you beat the freshman and 3 sophmores who still decided to play for some odd reason, in a summer game 66-14 which congrats on that, now everyone will see how coach wrights future season will go. even worse than last year!
  6. OK 17, The KIDS must be held accountable for their actions to the adults, as does the Employees of the school system must be accountable to school adminstration and to the parents when it involves their kids ( you should know that as you were a former a Eliz. school system Employee). Physical abuse was not the case with the players that quit, their reasons were well stated on their own as a TEAM to the principal in person and in writing about the present coach. This team never ask for this situation but they are the ones paying for it. Mental and verbally abusive does come in the picture as does intimidation and destruction of school property. Mr Wright (the title "coach" must be earned not appointed because you are kin to a board member) is simply is not a coach, there were more qualified and willing employees that were never offerd the position and it was notosted as it should have been. The best fit for a new coach for this team was never sought by the school administration, it was done like so many other positions are filled within the county school system ( The good ole boy system, kin to a board member). The big problem in our society today is the PARENTS are not more involved in their kids school activities thats why you read in the news about every day of inappropriate behavior with students or criminal activity involving teachers or Coaches somewhere locally. The parents MUST be involved with their kids, its their job as parents. If ANY coach or teacher has a problem with that they better look for another profession. I do totally agree we need a massive HOUSE cleaning within our School administration. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  7. Many people who are bashing the players and parents do not see what this mess is really about.Coach Wright may be a good guy, & may know a little about basketball, but he certaintly doesnt know how to take talent and coach it the way it should be. His attitude this past season " i've done what i can with what talent i have" is a vague comment. if this was so then why did the lady rangers have a much more successful season in 07-08, and they only lost ONE player. ? their summer record at camps were exceptional. this year, records were set, but not the kind that you would want known. the lady rangers didnt make it past the districts for the first time in 17 years. this was by far the worst seaon they have had in years. some may blame the girls, saying they have no heart, ("creeker baller," )but if this were so they wouldn have even bothered showing up for practice EVERYDAY & continue working on their own in hope of winning a game. "Highlander" made a very good post. others really do not see what actually went on. and no one is considering the players in the situation. and trust me for those who think the school board is involved in this and the principal, well they are not. they had a big part in coach chambers dismissal, but want no part in helping the girls in the present situation with coach wright. coach wright has been bashed a bit much lately by everyone, he may be an alright person. but i know him personally and he is very arrogant. he did not respect his players, therefore lost respect from them. Events such as the senior night incident, resulted in his lost respect. the lady rangers had a little tradition thing, that on senior night, they always get balloons and many decorations and decorate the lockeroom in honor of our seniors and throw them a little party after they game. well the wonderful and mature coach went physco and wouldn even let the girls dress in their own lockeroom on their last home game. he referred it as "chuckey cheese university". he chewed the girls out up one side and down the other, not about the game at halftime of the jv game but about the lockeroom. when the seniors found out about coach wrights fit over the lockeroom, they were very upset, they felt like he had no confidence in them or respect for them. he basically said they didnt deserve it. when it was time for the varsity game, he sd the team would dress in the p.e equipment room. well they didnt fit there so they had their pregame in the hall. interesting huh? goodway to end your senior year at home. he made a huge deal out of it. he said the girls were decorating with no reason to even celebrate. good encouragment right? there were many more incidents people did not know about, such as when he went off and tore a bulliten board off the wall, (that he did not even put in the lockeroom btw) during halftime of the hampton game, threw it across the room, then picked up a chair and threw it through the bulliten board. no one seen that side of him. coach chambers may have made mistakes as a coach, but never once did he disrespect his players, show that kind of violence, or try and take away the fun in basketball for the girls. which this situation goes far beyond coach chambers now, that boat has unfortunately done sailed. it comes down now to how bad the girls want to play, but refuse to go through another season miserable like last year. as i've stated in previous post, that was not the lady ranger basketball they knew, they lost their interest in playing, & their motivation was destroyed. i wish someone would consider the way they feel and quit worrying about everything else. this is their high school years that are going by, i dont think they wanna look back one day regreting not playing, and wondering where they went wrong in the whole situation. i just think everyone who is against them, blaming them for everything, should consider that they do not know everything that went on the past season. and that the girls do have heart and really want to play..
  8. well you see there "creekerballer" obviously you are one of few who are a fan of coach wright. very few. i do agree with you about the intentionals. that was an embarrasment. but then again they came from seniors who were hurt because they went through three great seasons that were mostly successful & came up there LAST year of high school and lost everything they had worked for because of bad coaching decisions made at the last minute. as far as the parents are concerned they tried to help mr wright but he was wonder wright and needed no help. with ANYTHING. period. his players tried talkin with him about things but he wanted to take no advice. it was what he wanted or nothing. no one knows what went on at closed pratices or in the lockeroom between halves or after games except the ones who played. things go much farther with reasoning behind quitting than just losing. lady ranger basketball was made up of great work ethics and leadership until they was screwed over right before their season started & had to start new. the new direction that was told was gonna be takin after the dismissal of coach chambers, yeah we see where that took us, straight down the drain for lady ranger basketball.. and it has took great courage to quit for the ones who did, basketball was something they all loved at one point, but it was made into something miserable and dreadful. yes coach wright shouldve took the hint, and resigned and saved himself and the school the embarassment. he is an excellent teacher, but cant say the same for a coach. he has made the statement that he dont look to win a game this year.. well wonder why. no coach.no players. no wins. & good day to you! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
