  1. Cmon Playerscoach, DCA can't come close to what Ensworth is paying Hunky. You don't really believe that do you? If they could then Dennis should be pissed because he never got near that for sure.

I do agree it is the biggest hire in school history. Graduating literally half the team is not a good starting point either.

Better do your homework and some DEEP study on a couple of those names mentioned previously.

  2. Why not just use the  same system MLB does?

Straight out of high school or juco since many of them are non-qualifiers legally.

OR sign with 4 year school you are locked in for 3 years. Actually a pretty good system.

NBA has historically not wanted to spend much of anything on the D league or G League re-brand.

I'm happy to see the NBA seriously talking about ending the one-and-done rule and even expanding the draft. I never thought the NBA would be interested in reversing that rule, simply because reverting back to the old rule (allowing 18-year olds to go pro) doesn't really benefit the league. Which is why investing in the G-League is a big part of addressing that issue. D-League players currently earn $19k-26k per season, so that will definitely have to improve; based on current proposals, the G-League could offer $50k-75k salaries. For reference, league minimum in the NBA is currently set just below $550k/yr.

$100k/yr is a good living, depending on where you live. There's also a difference between making that money for 5 years vs. making that money for 35 years. Granted, some of these kids (and adults) can't see beyond the end of their nose, and some of these kids have zero interest in a career outside of basketball, but there are still plenty of people out there who understand that you can't play basketball forever and that a good college degree is a much better long-term financial solution.

I will be happy to inevitably see the one-and-done rule go, but I honestly don't think the developmental league will have much of an impact on college basketball unless the salaries significantly increase.

Exactly. $26000 a year is nothing. They can make much more than that currently in college if they are good enough. That is truth.

The G league is garbage basketball. Have you watched it at all?  Few high school age kids are ready mentally or physically for an 82 game schedule.

They had Hartsfield dead to rights!  Everybody was scared to pull the trigger.

Yes.  as well as many others.

Ensworth has had kids from Mt. Pleasant to  McEwen and all points in between.

What about the big tackle at BA from Texas?

Ryan is working the Metro middle  schools so hard just trying to stay relevant.

Nah I'm not a sore loser lol I'm just basing it off what I saw the one night they played. Just puzzles me how East went 30-2 and didn't make it to the region finals. My team lost early in regions fair and square. Yeah I keep hearing that east can shoot but like i said before that district plays elite defense and has great transition offense. Props to them for sweeping 9AA.

If we are basing thought off one game, I watched Sycamore get blasted by nearly 60 at Goodpasture this year. Looked like a grade school team.

  6. Lead is a Nashville team, not a Metro team. Metro teams are part of Metro schools. Lead is on their own.

They have had some good teams and players. Don't know what will happen with the whole Eagleville fiasco. Never know what TSSAA will do when they have to get involved.

Both of  these could be good games. Might have to check one of them out. Would not be shocked to see either of those 9AA teams advance.

    Truth hurts.

Tried to tell you. Harpeth lost by 40. Your #1 seed by 20 at home.

Just a different level of basketball played in 10AA. Maplewood would have beaten anybody you have also.

Lots of folks doesn’t agree on your assessment of loaded talent

    Obviously a parent.

  9.  They tanked a game to avoid a matchup. Kind of like the crap that happened in Murfreesboro a couple years ago that cost coaches their job. TM was just better at it.  That was a long time ago. Now that I think about it, that was probably in between the times Fryer was a student and later a coach. I guarantee John Simms knows.

  10. Loaded with talent?  That is a stretch for sure. Nowhere near the talent level of years past. There is a reason Wolf left for Franklin. Talent was FHS now and he always, ALWAYS follows talent. He knew when to leave.

Your best player is a freshman though so the future looks better.

Harpeth has no idea what is coming. You would be the only one not shocked.

But they are already in the region tournament. That is all that matters in the district tournament. I have seen too many teams throw games in district tournament to get better matchup in region.

    The old Tommy Martin special.
