  1. What about Whites Creek? 650 kids in a building built for 2000. Charter schools are chomping at the bit to get that one. Stratford was down so low they moved the middle school in over there to make it look better. Maybe even close that tired Maplewood building and split the kids half to Stratford and half to Whites Creek?

  2. The part about schools not having football and choosing Co-op is you can only have a co-op agreement with one other school So if Glencliff dropped football they could not co op with Pearl, Hillwood or East for sure.

Also,  once you enter into a co-op agreement you cannot start a program back up at your school for several years after. I guess to keep them from just going back and forth year to year.

Deciding to co-op a sport basically means you have no thoughts of ever having that sport on campus again. Pretty big decision for a large school to make.

  3. As well as a guy that built a 300 student powerhouse for years over on Granny White. People forget how dominant Carlton Flatt was playing at the highest classifications even. He is the reason for the D1-D2 split. to begin with. Just  ask that guy in aluminum city. If he can ever stop talking about himself maybe he will admit it also.

If a system were put in place to fix the problems of MNPS today I have very little confidence that 75% of the problems could be fixed in 10 years.  My opinion is that we are dealing with cultural problems that have been around for multiple generations (mid 1980's) and many people in the system like things as they are now.  To fix the problems everyone would have to understand that some people are going to get their feelings hurt and while it's unfortunate some children would be left behind because they cannot or are not willing to keep up. It may be time to partner with the various trade unions and begin educating some of these students while still in high school as they did in the 1970s.

    And the people said, AMEN.

Bottom line. Not every kid is going to college. Get over it. Teach them a trade they can use to make an honest living. If you don't, they become a burden on our tax dollars by living off handouts or even worse making a "dishonest" living.

The two things that are most needed in Metro schools today are Discipline and Accountability. Unfortunately, as CBG said, too many snowflakes out there would get their feelings hurt because they don't want to do the work cause they are lazy and they want to act like fools. Until there is a penalty for not doing what is right, the behavior will continue.

Reward positives yes, but PUNISH negatives. Only way the lesson will stick. It is a two way street.

  5. So Concord Christian, who forfeited earlier this year to DCA when they said they didn't have enough players is going to play an extra game? Forfeited on Thursday night when it was DCA's homecoming and they had nobody to play with all those people coming? Classy.

FYI- I watched a TPS team come into DCA with 12 players. Twelve!!!!!!!!!!

    And they played it out.

how long was the current HC coached at David Lipscomb coaching under the great Coach McAdams before he passed away.....or had he been there and left and when Coach McAdams died; Lipscomb brought him back from another school. Booger nose coach McAdams was/is 1 of only a hand full of FB coaches in this state to have won over 300 games.

.....Booger thinkin its either David Lipscomb or CAK that has fallen from grace, no pun intended, the hardest in this first year of the new private school classifications.....sure didnt see it comin at CAK...CAK was like 9-3 last season

    Booger just sayin

    Goodpasture was 10-3. Just sayin

ooo and bye the way we had those under armour jersey before the vandy game

pearl u guys have all the city supporting u with kids with coward but continuesly fall short

the only you can hang yo hat on is a hard schedule in which u loss majority of thosgames...stop peaking across town worried about our ranked players high graduation rate..college attandace from a 10 year program..when yall aint won nothing since Fitzgerald...and he wont even touch THAT program and yes u are watching a 8 year program ( 1st 2 seasons no varsity competition)... East has issue it does and hopefully they put it together with out the talent they have...

Just an FYI. Only the first season was a partial varsity competition. The second season Bubba Spears played a full varsity and region schedule and finished 5-5 so this is the 9th full varsity season. I know I have posted the complete records for all three coaches on here somewhere.

But do you really think he will leave since he will have a new school new stadium Etc in a year or so?

A year or so? LOL. They have been working on the football stadium at Glencliff for 2 years and  still haven't finished. East and Overton are still not done either. Do you really think Hillwood's new building AND facilities will be ready in a year or two? Believe it when I see it.

Goodpasture had very good facilities 17 yrs ago..haven't been there since..not sure how they are now..last time I was there was for basketball..not too many yrs after the star they had that played at Ky and for Celtics..Coach O Neil rode on the city bus with his mom trying to get him to Knoxville..Ron he Mercer..I remember now

Ron is around town. See him every now and again. Facilities are good. Stadium concessions and bathrooms were redone last year. I can't remember when the fieldhouse was completed. Was it at the South end last time you were here?

  10. From ya'lls neck of the woods go 24 to Nashville and then 65 north to the Old Hickory Blvd. exit. Turn right. Go about 100 yards to the first red light at Graycroft,  and turn right. Follow it to the first red light, Due West, and turn right. School is up the hill on the left. Field is at top of the hill before you go over the bridge. Really easy to find. Parking in front and back and gate entrances on both ends also. Folks that tailgate park in the back by the fieldhouse. Look me up and I can give you a tour of the place if you want.

The worst coached GP team I have ever watch. GP did not score until CPA’s 2nd String was in the game while playing starters till late in the 4th. Also GP add a score late on 3 string. Totally out coached on offense looked pitiful, at what point do you do something different.

You were obviously not around for the 2nd Mote season then.
