Well I really thought they could win last week. They can still beat Kenwood. No chance of beating BGA. Hope they can find a win.

I know a lot of kids work to help pay expenses for their families. Others stay at home to keep their younger siblings while mom or dad or both go to work.

Using CoachT for scouting is like using Wikipedia as a reference. Let the buyer beware.

You know, I did not realize that we would be in the lower classification for the other sports. You're right, as a parent of an athlete that also plays baseball I was hoping we'd get a rematch with CAK... maybe they are in the lower also? I wonder if you can play up in specific sports? As you said, and I agree in baseball at least, we would be very competitive with any team in the state. And this brings us full circle since our wonderful baseball coach played at Lipscomb
No disrespect taken at all BTW.
Larry is a quality guy for sure. He has built that program from the ground up.

You are not late. This is next week's game. 10-6-17
Giles is at East Nashville tonight.

I have seen both black and white coaches and "represenatives" at middle school games. And they all are searching out parents not the other way around.
We can also talk about the phone calls kids are still receiving over the summer even after the kid has enrolled at another school. Much like the difference between the binding letter of intent and the "commitment".
I have even had a kid come to the first day of school only to be at another school on the 2nd day.
Much like college basketball, until something happens to change the landscape it will remain the "status quo". Morals are no longer in vogue unfortunately.

Booger, I was supporting what you said. That number was established "arbitrarily" to make sure they didn't have to play Enworth, BA, MBA, They assumed that those schools would continue to play up, which they did. Don't think that BA et al. were not upset at the move. It would have been funny if they had called their bluff and played down in AA

whats hard to imagine is that yall r the largest schooll in this new DII-AA now and not bein competitive.....can you believe what it would b like if Lowery, Meske (Who is on the T$$AA BoC and a HC at Webb.....Major conflict of interest) had not met up at the Pink Pony Pub Happy Hour down in Gulf Shores after that condo meetin and the cutoff number had stayed at 450 like it is in all other sports......interestin how that Football number got up to 530 and only the 3 schools that fell between the that 450 and 530 cutoff are the 2 private schools that have a Head Maste/AD and a HC on the T$$AA BoC.....the 3rd bein another Master Head (buddy) from CCS who is over the 450 number; petitioned after the fact and the BoC allowed them to play down when they have official documented numbers over the cutoff.....
.....Booger nose the Red Neck Rivera all to well...... Happy Hour at the Pink Pony Pub is a deal cuttin place.....and that condo had to have been sumbodys from the Sword of Joshua Independent Full Gospel Pentecostal Assembly just off Hwy 41/Broad Street done on Charger Drive in St Elmo
.....Booger still hates to see anyone down like DL is right now and hope to see DL rebound a bit soon....at least for the kids
Booger just sayin
It is no secret that the 530 number was established in an effort to avoid playing the Ensworth/BAs of the world. Absolutely no reason to have 3 divisions with the number of teams involved. It is also funny how two well know schools came in just a hair under that 450 line to make sure they played down in other sports.

What's wrong with wearing school gear? I see some coaches who are in school gear almost 7 days a week. Some of these coaches do have kids who are in little league and middle school.
The difference is it is not his kid he is going up and talking to as a representative of his school. I know some will say coincidence, Bottom line if you talk to a kid that is not zoned to you it is illegal. They have to come to you AND not after you have made contact first.Semantics.
It is funny to watch after awhile.

Good luck to Coach Frost and the Panthers from an old Viper.

I would be surprised if actual coach related recruitment was that rampant. I have had tons of conversations over the years about CPA football where people have accused CPA of recruiting and I always ask them what specific athelete to which they are referring. They can never answer that question...
I hate it because it's disrespectful to the hard work the athletes that have put in since they enrolled in middle or elementary school. CPA won the state with 17 of 22 starters enrolled in kindergarten.
Now, the 80s were different as there were head coaches in the living rooms of families trying to convince them that their school should be the choice. I think we are mostly past that.
Don't kid yourself. Most of it now is done through second parties although there are some brazen assistant coaches out there who can be seen (in their school gear), at several metro middle school games each week. Both public and private schools are represented.

Typically in the game contract there is an agreed upon amount. Basketball is usually $250. I would think football would be much higher since you have $600 in officials, probably $250 in ambulance, then security etc. A lot of fixed costs.
However, if they never bothered to do written contracts, and you would be surprised how many do not, there is no recourse.

They played D2-AAA Briarcrest and JP2 also. .Most publics would not schedule them anymore. South Pitt is a quality team.

At most metro schools, the coaches provide many rides with their personal vehicles.
EVERY SINGLE AWAY GAME. I never had less than 5 players in my vehicle last year for every away game.
One game I had several more that would be considered illegal but they had no way home since their rides there had left them so they piled in.

It began the day the announcement was made. Don't kid yourself.

They are not playing down. They are in AA with just over 300 students in the high school. Not sure what you are thinking about.
Their region is CPA, BGA, FRA and Lipscomb.
-
Maplewood by 3 TDs only because it is a rivalry game. Otherwise by 40

East Nashville won freshman city in football and boys and girls basketball last year.

Julius Elders and Corn Elder are not related. Corn Elder lived in Murfreesboro and "commuted" to Ensworth.

They can take it to their face. Just not anonymously on a website. Crawl out in the open and say something. How about you start with McNeal and tell him? Then go tell the kid's dad THEN tell the kid.
If you feel that strongly about expressing yourself make sure it goes in that order, not anonymously like a coward.
