I saw earlier on a post that they come out "slow in the first 15 minutes". well its not going to matter how fast they come out afterwards, we are going to blast them early and cruise to the title.

Let me tell you one thing...you are not a Hendersonville player, fan or student. It is obvious to me that you are from Wilson Central trying to get your team fired up. The Hendersonville fans, and players have a lot of class they have prooved over the years their dominance and they do not get on here to talk trash. I will take my hat out to Wilson Central for stepping up this year and playing well and winning some tough games. Congrats but don't spoil it talking trash and trying to misrepresent another team, it is not fair.

I thank you for the comments wai652231, although I don't know who you are it seems like you know me well. I am glad you all believe what you read in the papers. Thanks to the ones that contacted me to tell me about the trash that some people are saying about me again on here. I would love to put rumors and answer any questions you might have at any time. It is sad that some of you see me like that but you are entitle to your opinion just remember not everything is what it seems. I am not trying to change anyones mind I just hope you never serve in a jury because without knowing the facts you are executing me already. God Bless America!

Let's all calm down please. Baller5 you need to be very careful about the way you are talking on here. If you have read the rules you can see that it is not tolerated to trash coaches or other players on CoachT site. Please refrain from doing that or I will delete every post you are posting on here. I am not sure who you are but I am disappointed that one of my ex players talks like that. Whitey and Coach of 3 I apologize for that, I like to think that I taught my girls better than that.
And please stay on the topic (everyone).

Making a blanket statement that the officials "do not care about their calls and about the cards they issue" is completely uncalled for. You stated that you are a former coach and current TSSAA/USSF official. Your statement shows me that you are completely unqualified to officiate any kind of game. You, better than anyone, should know that the first thing you learn at any level is not to criticize your fellow officials in a public forum. You are the type of official the TSSAA does not need regardless of how good you are.
If you read what I was saying is that it is TSSAA 's responsibility to make the officials accountable for their actions and calls on the field. I am not criticizing the officials but the organization they "sub-contract" for. But your opinion is well stated and I do take your criticism well. Thanks for your opinion. And I did not ever say i was any good.

Like it or not, the TSSAA has always tried to include every association through out the state for tournaments. Also it makes me wonder how many officials turned the TSSAA because of travel concerns and work. Besides, believe it or not, very few officials do this for the money. The money is just not that good.
Like I said I am one of the TSSAA officials and I know the money is not good cry from officials. You are telling me that $50 for an eighty-minute game is not enough? Where can you find a job that pays you $37.50 an hour? Please do not tell me that the travel is an issue. Does your job pay you to travel to work and back? If they do then you are one of the lucky 2% in United States population. What do the officials do it for? If it is not the money why do they complain when they get their W-2 in the mail in January? I agree some do it because they love the game, usually you will find those guys doing games in the local rec park in the fields of U-10. If officiating was for free then we will see how many guys or gals you would have out there because they love the game.
Coaches can also complain about pay but truly the only people that do it for FREE are the KIDS. They get no money although everyone else that is involved does, officials, coaches, schools, and TSSAA. It sounds to me as an exploitation of young children. What do you think?

I agree with you but that will never happen. Almost everything that has to do with TSSAA is very political. TSSAA does not even try to find out who the best refs are. They do not care about the official's knowledge or what the coaches have to say about the officials. Officials have no accountability so they do not care about their calls and about the cards they issue to players or coaches. I am sure since I was a coach and I am a TSSAA/USSF official that there is no interest from TSSAA on what officials' knowledge is. They bring guys to Memphis that NEVER played the game, or cannot keep up with the game. We all know the advantage call but the rule does not say anything about waiting 20-30 seconds to make a call or a no call. It is simply poor officiating since the center official did not "glance" on the assistant's side and poor mechanics. Should he be there then if he has poor mechanics? The answer is a very emphatic NO. If TSSAA were doing their job correctly they would have someone on staff to evaluate officials over the regular season and pick the best to represent TSSAA at the finals. I don't agree that every officials association needs to have a representative crew at the finals. That is not fair to the coaches, players or the parents / fans. I am not basing on the officials at all; I think that TSSAA is poorly run by the "good old boy system" that needs to be replaced for this state to advance to the next level of competition.

There is only one thing that can be said about this game and the officiating crew: Officials that get to "ref" the finals are not necessarily the best the state has. My team finally made it to the state 2 years ago and we lost to a better team (Houston) but there were several not just "BAD" but "HORRIBLE" calls against both teams but mostly against our team. Our team received a total (that is what I have in the stat book as I was looking at yesterday) 14 yellow cards in one game and the other team received a total of 9 yellow cards. Every hard foul was 2 yellows for both teams no matter what the direction of the foul.
To make the long story short, the Farragut coach was behind our bench and he saw a little of what was going on after they played McMinn to an 8-0 win. He did say after the game that he was disappointed to see the center official calling a game like that. I think that it is the responsibility of TSSAA to make sure the officials are up to par when they call games like that, if they do not want to take responsibility for THEIR officials then they do not need to be in charge of soccer, let the coaches have their own association like swimming does. I am sure they can organize it much better than the money hungry TSSAA. They do nothing but get in the way of the games and collect money for sending awards during district, region and etc.

I don't know about the other situations but players need to let the coaches handle this. As far as anyone is concern the Blackman against Smyrna game was CANCELLED.

Well sir, I have an advice for you since you are new to Tennessee board. We do not call kids names. If you are an adult like you claim you need to know better than that. Another thing is when you agree to join a message board like CoachT you agree to follow the rules and guidelines, which you clearly violated by calling someone names. Refrain from name calling or you will be banned from the boards!!!

Like i said in my personal opinion Coach M is not going to leave Smyrna for anything else around he is involved in almost everything that is going on at this HS. When he learns how to coach soccer ( actually he coached an indoor team this past weekend for soccer ) he will be a coach that can do it all.
As for the job at purple land opening up...I don't think that V is going anywhere, if you look around he has done a lot for the program, he is a hard worker and he does everything for those kids but...he never wants credit for anything he does around there. He is a good guy and a good coach but he has to constanly deal with players quitting baseball to play OTHER sports ...if you know what I mean and that hurts a team alot.

Coach M will be a great HC but here is one problem...his blood is thick and very purple. He breaths, sleeps, dreams...PURPLE. It will be very hard for him to leave smyrna to go somewhere else unless the have an opening in a school that it will have the Bulldogs as a mascot, purple and gold colors and the name of the school is Smyrna High. He is a perfect replacement for Mr. Raikes when he retires...Coach M will retire as a Bulldog but that is just my opinion.

So region... any luck on your search? I see that everyone seems to be keepin this a hush hush topic. Kinda funny! I KNOW there are lots of people discussing this and have been for some time. I have even had explayers of the baseball team tell me things but no one ever seems to comment on here. HMMM???
Caldwell,Chad BBk, BB 08/20/2004 2004 04 Needs NFHS Course (21) but he is able to coach and he is approved by TSSAA.
I am going to disagree with all of you people out there about coach V and coach M. They are both good coaches on different things that is why they are a good fit for each other. Coach M does a good job with the kids as for making it fun while Coach V brings in the discipline and the order. We all know one does not go without the other if you want to have a good program. Coach M is a very busy man with Fresh football then helps with Basketball and the baseball but I tell you what Coach V does a great job maintaining that field with Coach L. They cut the grass and make sure the kids have a state of the art facility which is clean and well groomed. You guys can not sit here and tell me that he does nothing at all. He does not have favorites like you say he does and I know that for a fact, I have been around him for 6 years and he is straight up, he wants to win Coach M wants to win but until all the kids take it serious there is nothing else Coach M or Coach V can do to help it. It is a shame we are questioning his ability of coaching or anything else about his decisions. He is a good coach and he cares about his kids. He is trying so hard to get seniors scholarships because he wants them to play past HS when I know some coaches that don't care one way or the other. Anyway enough said, Smyrna needs a combination of V, M, L & C to help them be great and with the right dosage they have the chance to win a lot of games.

Hey people how about Smyrna? I think we have several quality players returning from a team that made it all the way to regions last year. I think the experience will carry them all the way to state, with a little luck I think we can take it all.

I believe that Clarksville will prevail on this one although it will be tough. Coach D from Clarksville has a respected program and a lot of experience on the playoffs which shows after beating Dickson County for the Championship. Teams like Hendersonville and Clarksville can have an OK season but when playoffs come around they are hot because they know how to win and their coaches been there and they have done it again and again. Good luck to both!!
