I believe that Clarksville will prevail on this one although it will be tough. Coach D from Clarksville has a respected program and a lot of experience on the playoffs which shows after beating Dickson County for the Championship. Teams like Hendersonville and Clarksville can have an OK season but when playoffs come around they are hot because they know how to win and their coaches been there and they have done it again and again. Good luck to both!!

Let me tell you one thing...you are not a Hendersonville player, fan or student. It is obvious to me that you are from Wilson Central trying to get your team fired up. The Hendersonville fans, and players have a lot of class they have prooved over the years their dominance and they do not get on here to talk trash. I will take my hat out to Wilson Central for stepping up this year and playing well and winning some tough games. Congrats but don't spoil it talking trash and trying to misrepresent another team, it is not fair.

I thank you for the comments wai652231, although I don't know who you are it seems like you know me well. I am glad you all believe what you read in the papers. Thanks to the ones that contacted me to tell me about the trash that some people are saying about me again on here. I would love to put rumors and answer any questions you might have at any time. It is sad that some of you see me like that but you are entitle to your opinion just remember not everything is what it seems. I am not sure about that Region4, I think we are going to keep him and make him the soccer coach next year, we sure need one ...hehehe

Like i said in my personal opinion Coach M is not going to leave Smyrna for anything else around he is involved in almost everything that is going on at this HS. When he learns how to coach soccer ( actually he coached an indoor team this past weekend for soccer ) he will be a coach that can do it all. As for the job at purple land opening up...I don't think that V is going anywhere, if you look around he has done a lot for the program, he is a hard worker and he does everything for those kids but...he never wants credit for anything he does around there. He is a good guy and a good coach but he has to constanly deal with players quitting baseball to play OTHER sports ...if you know what I mean and that hurts a team alot.

Coach M will be a great HC but here is one problem...his blood is thick and very purple. He breaths, sleeps, dreams...PURPLE. It will be very hard for him to leave smyrna to go somewhere else unless the have an opening in a school that it will have the Bulldogs as a mascot, purple and gold colors and the name of the school is Smyrna High. He is a perfect replacement for Mr. Raikes when he retires...Coach M will retire as a Bulldog but that is just my opinion.

Caldwell,Chad BBk, BB 08/20/2004 2004 04 Needs NFHS Course (21) but he is able to coach and he is approved by TSSAA. I am going to disagree with all of you people out there about coach V and coach M. They are both good coaches on different things that is why they are a good fit for each other. Coach M does a good job with the kids as for making it fun while Coach V brings in the discipline and the order. We all know one does not go without the other if you want to have a good program. Coach M is a very busy man with Fresh football then helps with Basketball and the baseball but I tell you what Coach V does a great job maintaining that field with Coach L. They cut the grass and make sure the kids have a state of the art facility which is clean and well groomed. You guys can not sit here and tell me that he does nothing at all. He does not have favorites like you say he does and I know that for a fact, I have been around him for 6 years and he is straight up, he wants to win Coach M wants to win but until all the kids take it serious there is nothing else Coach M or Coach V can do to help it. It is a shame we are questioning his ability of coaching or anything else about his decisions. He is a good coach and he cares about his kids. He is trying so hard to get seniors scholarships because he wants them to play past HS when I know some coaches that don't care one way or the other. Anyway enough said, Smyrna needs a combination of V, M, L & C to help them be great and with the right dosage they have the chance to win a lot of games.

Hey people how about Smyrna? I think we have several quality players returning from a team that made it all the way to regions last year. I think the experience will carry them all the way to state, with a little luck I think we can take it all.

I think we need to look at the fantastic things those kids have done the past several months, both Smyrna and Riverdale instead of focusing on the little trash talk they have done the past week. They started their work outs back last winter (lifting) and when summer came around and we were enjoying a nice vacation at the beach they were at school working out again. After dead period they went back to working out and when school started back up they were there from 8 am until 7 pm every day which is 11 hours . On Fridays they were there from 8am until 11 pm which is a total of 15 hours. That gives them a total of 59 hours at work. For what? For us (fans), schools, parents, pride and a little piece of the pie (bragging rights of the best in TN). I know a lot of us have worked that many hours at work but never for no pay or for the goodness of our heart. So what the kids talked a little trash about eachother? Look at the examples they have, T. Owens, W. Sapp. R. Lewis and so on. As for coaches on the sideline cursing and such, I am not sure that is a true statement to make but I will tell you something, all the coaches of those teams spend a lot of time with the kids, they are tired, maybe something slipped out. I refuse to believe that anything was intentional, if it really happen. Some of those coaches leave their family on the backburner for the athletes and they do their best. They should be commented not persecuted by people. They do try hard day in and day out so they can put a show for us on Friday night.

Don't be like that !!! We don't know who the B Dogg is but don't think everyone here at Smyrna is like him... And to help you jog your memory about Smyrna and the State...well Volleyball last year, and boys soccer the year before.

I don't know who you are but I can definately say that you have NO CLASS talking about Mr. Raikes like that. What happened? Did he paddle you because you are a trouble maker or something? Or maybe he threw you of the team? It is not proper to talk trash about an educator that has devoted his life to Rutherford County children. Where is your respect? Maybe FBI does not teach you anything like that on their training. You are a dissapointment to our Law Enforcment sir.

Ok guys, let me begin by saying I am not a football coach at smyrna so don't look at my screen name thinking that, although with the desire that our guys play I would love to take credit but I can not. Everyone in here is talking about one or two guys from our team but I am here to state that we have a lot of guys that have played their heart out this year. In the beginning of the year everyone thought that since we lost David we were down and out. That did not happen because a very capable Charles stepped in with the help of some great coaching to make him incredible on that position. Then our DC leaves and goes to Blackman which was a career move for him which was fine with everyone but the coaches needed time to adapt a new strategy for our defense which they did. Everyone that knows football does understand that it takes a little longer that couple weeks to fix a defense in disarray. It took time so it is now ready to face a very capable team like Riverdale. We have several great TEAM players that watch out for each other when they are on defense and on offense or special teams. I can sit here and mention all of them but it will be easier for you to just go to our school web site and pull the roster because every one of those players have worked hard all year long for this moment, to play Riverdale. To be the best you have to beat the best and this region is the best in the state. It is very unfortunate that one of the best team will go home this Friday night but that is another subject. I personally believe that our boys will play their heart out, our coaches will do an excellent job once again and our team will prevail at the end but it will be close. Our kids deserve this and our coaches work harder that everyone in the state...just ask their wives, they don't see them very often since they are always working because they take a lot of pride on this team and their kids. Go Smyrna !!!!!
