    Rockwood-OS

OS 23 Rockwood 12 OS defense comes up huge as the cats pull away behind the scrambling and passing of QB Whalen in 2nd half. Again, Johnson executes a gameplan to give the Cats the win.
  4. Antwan, dont throw my name in a new post to back up a new way to bash. Your true colors are coming through loud and clear. At least be man enough and to stand behind your inaccurate posts of pointing the finger at trash talking when you are throwing fuel on the fire.f9d that your defense is to use me in every argument. I predicted OS to win and was very impressed with Smith County and have posted that way since the game. My only objection is to how you claim this game was dominated by the Owls when the game was in doubt late in the 4th quarter and the Owls had to go for it on 4th down and 11 with under 3 minutes left with the game 14-7. That is hardly dominant. If that is your interpetation of dominant, then you need a reality check. For Antwan's sake, I hope Smith County has a banner year because if the Owls dont, then I would certainly hate to be in person that has daily intetraction with him.
  5. Its funny actually at this point, all the accusations of trash talking were only in response to you. Look on page 2 and 3.. It clearly shows that. Trying to gain sympathy with other posters by twisting the obvious is a a true sing of desperation. Be assured, I have never been into an arugment on this board in the 2 years I have posted to this degree. So in this "desperate childish schoolyard act" to aleinate my posts as something they aren't is pretty funny and simple. Rest assured it ends here, this is becoming redundant and useless. AS you stated, you will always run into obnoxious posters who "hype" their team up and can't handle someone that questions this "hype" Maybe I was guilty of it a bit, but only playing the cards that were layed down and I think that ruffled your feathers just a bit. My apologies for bothering you to that degree. As I said last post on this and if you want the last word- the floor is yours. For the 5th time since the game and last time, Congratulations to Smith County on a well deserved win.
  6. You guys are silly. The post you copied and pasted ( kind of suprised you know who to do that) was from the 4th page and after countless posts that degraded OS, its schedule, and its win last year. You guys clearly set the tone and I gratefuly accepted the challenge. As I have said, SMith COunty has an excellent team and played againt a very good Bobcat football team and won 21-7. There was no domination, but if you feel it necessary to continue this talk on an "alleged" domination, then so beit, obviously you feel an inferiority complex of some sort to call a game that wasn't decided until the final 3 minutes- domination. Oh well, I guess anything that will make you think you are getting closer to the Trousdale Counties and Portlands ... And if you want to continue posting such ridiculous posts, there is alot more ammo where this came from.. I just hope you can keep pace.
  7. You know what, You guys started the talking/writing before this game. The posts clearly show the tone set by SMith COunty fans with Predictions. Whenever OS fans predictied a win it seemed to set an insecurity off within Fan, Imallan, and Antwan that created mass Smith County COacht.com hysteria. If you reread the posts that is plain and simple. I only responded to the tone you started. You guys are the same posters that were crying when last year making every excuse when Oliver Springs beat up on Smith County in Carthrage last year. Smith County has an excellent ballclub and could make some noise. If both Antwan and Imallan are this misguided, I suggest to to you guys to get out of Carthrage more than the ocassional trip on Friday nights. ( btw, going to the Macdonald's on the interstate isn't traveling out of Carthrage) Good Luck..
  8. Smith County brought a great crowd to Oliver Springs and the Owls have a amazing band. Hats off to their fans for making that trip.
  9. BOth Teams are coming off losses to good 3-a a schools.. Both wil be hungry.. Too early in week to call this game.. It will be that close.
  10. Again, Smith COunty should pat themselves on the back and take this close victory/upset over the Bobcats and use it to as a stepping stone when they play the more DOMINANT teams of their region like Trousdale County and Portland.
  11. Funny, I was going to post a congratulations to Smith County on a terrific game plan and execution. To read the post on how Oliver SPrings was dominated, I quesiton two thing which game were youa t or what is your knowledge of football. The game was tied 0-0 at halftime and Oliver Springs had an oppurtunity to get the ball back to tie the game with less than 4 minutes to go with the score 14-7 in the 4th quarter. I hardly call that dominant. If that is dominating, then I guess SMith County football has a long way to go. OLiver Spring defense gave up several long runs in the second half, but I would hardly say that OS was dominated. OLiver Springs turned the ball over on 2 interceptions in SMith COunty side of the field in the second half that was the difference in the game. to the poster tha said SMith COunty almost had 5 scores, wellOS could have had 4 scores too.. Its all apples and oranges and a great game with great defense.. The two teams are very similar in talnet and gameplan especially the defenses.. The difference was SMith COunty's running back.. He's amazing and only seemed to get stronger as the game continued.. My hats of to SMith COunty, like Oliver SPrings they will make heavy noise in the playoffs.... Glad to see you guys are back in Carthrage safely..
  12. Yes, you have to be leery of Oliver Springs officials that officiate Oliver SPrings High School Athletic events at Oliver Spring's field. I am just so happy as our Olivers Springs fans, alum, coaches, and players that TSSAA allows Oliver Springs to be the exception to the rule and allow hometown refrees. thank you TSSAA, I wonder if maybe alcoa did have 200 yards in penalties that game and maybe just maybe the officials did make one mistake on an interception- but know its known as the "Oliver Springs Conspiracy Theory ( similar to the Pelican Brief and Erin Brokawich) ( anyone see Julia Roberts?) I was at both games.. ALcoa was penalized alot that night.. sometiems that happens.. If the refs really wanted OS to win do you think they would allow Alcoa to win 42-7? Also, with or without that interception Oliver Springs completely outplayed and had the better football team that night and last year.. with or without the interception.
  13. Agreed Goose.. Howard's feat should have been known throughout the KNoxville area. There is honeslty no excuse for the lack of coverage by the Sentinal. Didn't Oakedale have a gierls basketball in Sports Illustrated at some point in 90's. Anyway, a newpaper is in the works for 70 plus teams located out of Knoxville that should bring the WHOLE knoxville area together and not have silly statistics as the Sentianl does that have kids that carry the ball 4 times for -12 yards listed as rushing leaders for the knox metor area. - that is a joke
  14. Agree with you Orange and Black, I am sure it was an oversight on Burgess's part for not listing the game and its predictions. Two really ballcubs with 2-0 records that are going to make some noise in the playoffs should be listed. I emailed him ans asked why statisitics on knoxmetrosports did not incluse Roane COunty teams when teams like Heritage, Loudon, Lenior City,Anderson County, etc. were listed. I am sure that is in the plans, but if you are going to cover games with scores and the Sentinal is distributed in areas, then all teams need to be covered when they fans, players, and coaches rely on the Sentinal for complete coverage of the Knoxville area.
  15. AS I said, Smith County will not score more than 2 touchdowns againts OS tonight. If there is one thing I want to stress its that fact alone and remember that when walking out of DJ Britian Field tonight with a long drive back to Carthrage. OS 24 Smith County 14
  16. TO MCSSCOT who said it was vain to have the website. You need to wake up and see that information is vital and as Mr. Lambert said the website is information and informtaion only for people that want to follow Laura's career. Also, its a great marketing tool. AS for the Lee and Hall debate, well lets just say both players are going to flourish at this level and in college. That I thnk everyone can agree on...
  17. I never proclaimed OS a state power, but OS Football in the last 8 years has seen them in the playoffs more times than not in arguably the toughest AA region in the state. OS has beaten excellent teams during this period, had phenomenal athletes, and has one one region title during this period. I can assure you, OS has has played against state championship teams and always competes regardless of competition. SMith COunty can't say the same and hasn't produced the wins and competitive results against the same caliber of opponents. That is all I am saying. Portland and Trousdale COunty are the rulers Smith Counties region and SMith County has yet to show they can compete with these two. OS has more than shown it can compete with the powerhouses in their region such as Alcoa ( which OS has beaten 3 times in last 7 years)... I am nost saying OS is a football factory, but its harldy should take a backseat to anyone and be confident it can step onto the football feild and compete and beat any football tema it lines up against whcih is what Frank Johnson has done at Oliver Springs in making OS the winning program it has become....
  18. OS 24 Smith County 14 Harriman 14 Midway 12 Upset special Kingston 28 Rockwood 26 This is going to be special Wartburg 49 Oakdale 12 ( As Goose said, I would hate to be on the receiving end of the Bulldogs this week)
  19. Smith County will not score 3 touchdowns on OS.. You can take that to the bank.. The defense to too good, its at Home, and OS wins 24-14. It's a long trip back to Carthrage from East Tennessee...

    Best Away Places

OLiver Springs is clearly a special place to play on Friday nights. Amazing new stadium, great playing surface, great vocal fans support, terrific scenery with Cumberland Mountains in background.
  21. Answer, I have no doubt you will. I dont know what the disagreement is regarding the situation. Experience has taught me to keep the focus on sports without trying to tear down personal intergrity. I do know you are fully dedicated to High School sports, middle school sports, and more convincinly OS sports. That speaks volumes...
  22. Ok, time to get serious on this board and roll up my sleeves after reading some of these Smith County posts. You would think Smith COunty was a major powerhouse ( which they are far from) with the attitude of how mighty SMith COunty is acting in regarding to the clash this Friday night in questioning OS's 2-0 record, its schedule, and the disbelief in some OS fans post that predict OS winning? Its time for a pre game reality check for SMith COunty Posters Here are the Facts. Oliver Springs beat Smith County at Carthrage last year. That victory was one of many over a tenacious schedule the Bobcats had last year. Smith County was humiliated last year mutiple times against a couple teams in their own region. OS has played the big boys and played them touch in scrimmages such as AC and CLinton( which SMith COunty is nowhere close to in terms of talent and ability) OS has every reason to be confident and think they have the ability to win this game. Smith County is a good 3-a school and building their program and elevating it. OS already plays 3-A schools on a regular basis and has been winning on a regular basis of late ( ask Kingston, Lenior City, Scott COunty, Anderson County in a scrimmage) My question wouldnt be if OS is acting overconfident is thinking they can win this game, but my question would be is Smith County posters trying to elevate their football team with a reputation that has yet to deliver? I hope your trip to East Tennessee is a good one.... OS awaits
  23. Sorry about that Orange and Black.. I cant keep up with all of Matt's names on here.
  24. Orange and Black, I didnt date the girl I think you are speaking of Sherry. She was a close friend and now teaches at Norwood Elementary. She attended Oliver SPrings. In my class from Norwood it was almost evenly split 40 to OS 40 CLinton With about 10 kids transfering to OS in their junior years from Clinton. Most people agree the Old Norwood Junior High School was 7-9th grade was some great memories. Norwood competed against Clinton, Robertsville, Jefferson, William Blount, Maryville, Heritage, Crossville when I was there competing agaisnt far larger schools in enrollment.
  25. Actually, Carthrage and Oliver Springs are nowhere comparable in my view. Oliver Springs borders Oak Ridge a city fo approx. 30,000. The reason Oliver Springs doeast have more resturaunts and attractions is becasue of its closeness to OR and Knoxville. OS is considered KNoxville Metro in and counted in the census as a suburb of Knoxville in the last 20 years of census only being 15 miles from west knoxville. Carthrage is located 60 miles outside Nashville.
