i was talking to oline - BHSSports guy i'm feeling what you said now that you explained a little more clearly. but if that is indeed the case, as you put it... then no one can say a deggum thing about bhs losing the playoff game in 2001. because clearly, we were the better team in that game. If you wanted blackman to win, then you are being a little fair-weathered. Riverdale's defense is good, but they're not the best out there. They've been defeated. Just don't put them on a pedistle...they're too easily knocked down. 1, how would you know if i've played against them or now...you have no idea. so that's argument is dead based on not enough facts to back it up. 2, no one really cares about oakland as far as hey, they're a major concern for a state title...Hint your idea of a close game... it started whenever our coaches challeneged rhs's right to recruit... ever since then all they've wanted is revenge on bhs for calling their bluff. I know a lot of ppl at all schools who feel me on that. And your principal - nolan - who is going to seigal will want to battle ohs for the boro... 3, we beat you because we were better than you. 4, and why do you think they game was so close? because they didn't pay any attention to you guys until they busted out the 4th quarter heroics. and then they stomped you guys in 1 quarter. 5, the only way siegel will have a "battle" with us is if they take a lot of our kids... which they're not. because they're taking a lot of kids from oakland.. see that's how it gets started, school board takes kids to 2 different schools.. and there is a rivalry there... so it looks like seigal and oakland. 6, grow up 7, learn to argue smallz

I don't see why not?... people have argued that's why we lost the playoff game last year with RHS. We lost our QB, fullback and a linebacker which inevevitably cost us the lead and the game. Now i know when the star player is out, the moral goes down, but to use that as an excuse in the rhs/lincoln co. game this year is the exact same thing that happened to us. And yet we get yelled at by rhs and ohs people have said about how we whined about loosing the play off game last year. But i guess because it's riverdale, it's ok... just like everything else... smallz

I never said you couldn't care who wins - but it's just the fact that you're over exhubrent about how bad blackman "stinks" as opposed to riverdale who seems spotless in the lose category, but as I remember, Blackman beat the team, pretty good, that handed riverdale it's only reg. season loss. And if you want me to say so, we didn't have Rico, for those of you who think we whined a lot about not having him. we beat them without him, they lossed. No one's whining. And why do you so badly want RHS to beat us, it wouldn't make you look any better. But then again, no one cares about oakland, riverdale didn't care that much about oakland, riverdale wants bhs blood. that's the new battle of the boro. so until you become coherent in your arguments...you shut up. smallz

SO WHAT if bhs didn't come ready for a saturday game - we lost. the only reason it was a saturday game in the first place was the riverdale needs the attendance and they knew they couldn't get it on a stormy friday night. BHS would have done the same thing. To all those who argue on here, it's not making you look any better by throwing your opinions around here about a game that hasn't happened yet. If you want to know the score, the real score, goto the game - sit through 48 minutes of intense high school football, and look at the score board at the end of the game. You'll have your score, one will lose, the other will goto the Blue Cross Bowl. Back to "softball" - i'm not saying the ralph stembridge was any worse than rico - actually i think he ran the 40 a little faster, its just that ralph couldn't cut as well as rico. Ralph King went to M.I.T. (motlow in tullahoma) to bring up his GPA i think. I think he's gonna try to get in MTSU or somewhere later on and play, which i hope he does - he did great last year. Anyways, how is Ralph Stembridge doing this year? Is he playing? How much - which position? Just goto the game...Go blaze. smallz

man, screw all you guys... talking crap about both teams is rediculas. IT'S A FOOTBALL GAME. last time i checked the world will keep rotating on its axis regardless which team wins by what score. No team should make excuses, if they do - they should be drug out in the street and shot. Yes, last year in the playoffs vs. riverdale, blackman did lose ralph and johnny t. and a little of maupin to injuries during the game, so what? Riverdale saw that we lost key players and kept stuffing it. Blackman just lost the lead, and then lost the game. GET OVER IT. This year will be very interesting without justin, although Justin Amburgey wasn't the whole team, he just joined our team this year... Prince can throw the ball, and he can hand the ball off... besides a short run - what more do you really have to have? Prince can get the job done. Someone asked a while back on this post where the blaze got their name... well last time i checked the school board gave it to them. and why should that matter what they're called? They could win with that name or something a lot "cooler." I don't think anyone from blackman has whined over the fact that rico didn't play during the franklin or riverdale game. They lost those games on both sides of the ball, and in each individual position. Rico is good. He can cut better than ralph(king and stembridge) ever could. King was good because his o-line was good and he was big and fast. stembridge was good because he could find the holes and run straight up the middle. Turner is good because he can move 5 times by the time they defense can figure out which way he just blew past them. But rico isn't invincible as a lot of people think he is. He's been stuffed quite often because the line failed. But after being out 4 games, he is still the number 3 back in the region. the only thing keeping him out of the number 1 spot is his lack of yards which is due to him being out early. I'm sorry that taron henry is out, he was well re-cruited and i hope he can still get scholorship to those good schools. But isn't it funny how last year he wasn't in a spot light when ralph was at rhs? and someone earlier was talking about how rico "is bhs's team"? I'm sorry, but no one has control over what the DNJ puts in the paper. Personally i think they've screwed bhs and rhs as far as good high lights. BHS had all the highlights in the prep section for the first 3-4 weeks of regular season play. It seemed to me that rhs got screwed those weeks. I also don't like the fact that the DNJ is soo negitive about always bringing up players who got hurt months ago, such as Rico and Taron. And when they talk about Rico being back, they always bring up when he wasn't playing, and his foot injury. If i was a player, who was making something of myself in the spotlight, i'd want coverage on me, not me because someone else is out, who was better than me. I'd feel sorry that they were out, but wouldn't dwell on the fact that i'm just 2nd best. I'm not attacking either team, and i wouldn't criticize the blaze, because i am one. But for someone attacking riverdale because they can play football well on both sides of the ball is just dumb. It's not helping either team win friday. You sure won't get any whines out of me if we lose, and you surely won't get any arrogent posts if we win. I wanted a good game last week; i got it. Although i didn't want it to be that close - I got what i asked for. I also got the win i wanted too. All i ask this week is that the team who wants it more to win, and i also want a good game ref'ed by the refs. I don't think we've gotten a fair game at thomahawk stadium yet. I do think the first time we played RHS at BHS was fair - we just got out butts kicked. No excuses. Don't look for just one person to control the game - look at the entire field, there will be good plays in unexpected spots of the field. Yes, Rico is back, and doesn't seem to have missed much of a beat. Coach Alsup didn't give him as many reps at tailback as Kenny M.(6) But Rico's first ball of the night sent a shock right down the line to all the h'ville players because now they had someone really fast to contain. They really only contained him like 2-3 times because the o-line collapsed around him. He was denied a 71-yard td run because of a holding penalty. That tells a lot about his running abilities. He also broke free for a 36? yard td run, which was most impressive. He was very impressive on defense with an interception, and the 3rd down conversion break up. Sorry guys, but that 3rd down play won't be on the bhs highlight tape because neither camera men got the shot. We were confused about how both teams were lined up and didn't know the ball was snapped. After the play, and we saw the massive hit rico gave him, we were so mad with ourselves that we didn't get the footage. However we did get his big runs, although 2 big ones were denied, we still have great footage of his 36? yard td run.
