won 56 - 12 but could've been a lot worse. Vic pulled the starters out mid way through the 3rd quarter and let the reserves play the rest of the game. I saw a tremendous team of ATHLETES wearing the orange and black tonight. If they play as a team and focus on each game as it comes they should be bringing another gold ball to "the hill". The Marion County players played hard but could not do anything after the first series against the Pirates. Three Pirates' scores were called back in the 1st half due to penalities or it would have been real ugly. MY HAT IS OFF TO A REAL CLASSY GUY AND THE ENTIRE TEAM OF SOUTH PITTSBURG!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE SEASON. THIS MARION COUNTY FAN WILL BE PULLING FOR YOU ALL.

Sequatchie County is playing great ball since the first of the season. All there people are healthy and probably have a speed advantage now.

no disrespect was intended by my earlier post. I gave credit to the Grundy boys but they better start playing together or the next three games and the playoffs will be over before they get started. Should be a great game. Whitwell is off to a terrific start and Sequatchie County is finally healthy and playing well the last couple of weeks. Next door neighbors that fight like the Hatfields and McCoys. No love lost here. I have to go with the Tigers but Sequatchie always says that if they can get Whitwell to the 4th quarter they can win because Whitwell will fold.

Everytime we EVER played Howard someone important on the team got hurt. Not saying they are dirty players, but someone seemed to always get hurt that was very important to the team while playing them. Should be a run-away score get those key players out as soon as possible.

They seemed to be an outstanding group of young men. I hope they realize what they are throwing away by not competing as hard as they can. In 20 years no one will remember or care about who scored what, who tackled what, the scores, how many were won or lost. They will remember all the friends made and lessons learned while playing a terrific game called football!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the reply Del. Keep up the great work on the mountain.

Grundy has the same problem as Marion; NO PLAYERS. Grundy has #18, #11, #10, #71, and #44 when he wants to play which is about every 4 or 5 plays. I don't know where you folks from Grundy think you all are so special. Marion County has about as many weapons as you do and it was an old-fashion knock-them-down-help-them-up-be-back-in-a-minute kind of ballgame. From my prospective in the stands it was a great game to attend. I was talking to a coach the other day and he said that #44 and his mother called South Pittsburg when he was injured and tried to transfer to South Pitt. When Cook went down they played hard a couple of weeks after that but you can tell now that the wheels are falling off the bus!!!!!!!!!!! To much jealousy on the Grundy County team and not enuff desire to win. Del are you renegotiating the coaches contracts this year?

Yes, on paper, Grundy should have won this game..But if that's the way it goes, then Steinbrenner's Yankees should win the World Series every year, because with everyone he has, he would be the first team to ever go undefeated in baseball...That is, because he wins every game on paper. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone from Whitwell actually said the MC instead of Jasper. Must have been a brain fluff. What I saw tonight was tremendous effort from the purple and white gang. As I understand it, the whole team was embarassed by their lack of effort against a good Whitwell team last week. Give Whitwell credit, they have a tremendous team and can go a long way if they so choose. The MC players told me they were going to redeem themselves against Grundy County and they did. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE MARION COUNTY WARRIORS. ALSO, A BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT FROM THE FANS WHO WATCHED AN OLD-FASHION SVC GAME TONIGHT. To Tim Taylor and his coaching staff a big thank you for your preparation and hard work against a very good Grundy County team. The Marion County faithful need to take a long, hard look at this years team and they will realize this coachig staff does a great job with what they have to work with. The sun will shine very bright tomorrow after the big win against a very talented Grundy County team. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN WARRIORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
