  1. Well how about that........tahts great fellows. Enjoy the pub and your summers. Thanks bizazz for the heads up.
  2. As good as these kids feel right now I wouldn't expect to see one on E-Bay........bizazz, thanks for your support this year.
  3. ......as if there weren't enough distractions.
  4. Wednesday 6/4 9:30 a.m. at the field..........delivery in Sept/Oct I would guess.
  5. HVol is correct......the $$$$ at 65th should be worth the gamble. He is a quality right-hander.....and with some "professional" help (use his lower body better)he should pick up a few more mph's.......and by the way.....he throws a good #2 also......if they can develop the change-up he could be very effective as he matures as a pitcher.
  6. An honor to be sure.......Congrats to Wes and his family......go to GA. Tech.

Did you received the "PM" I sent you last night?
  8. FA15.....you were the key to that win........Yes the H'ville bats are strong.....and their #1 guy, #5 Reynolds, is the best leadoff "I" have seen this year.....and you know who I think would be #2......he could stake us to 2 strikes and get on some how....but I do remember a "K" on 3 pitches from you. Congrats on your year, your career, and especially your post season honor.......the one that will help you the most......as you recant "Your STATE CHAMPIONSHIP" Sr. year.
  9. There were some clearly outstanding performances in this years tourney.....I saw 8 AAA games and 4 D2's.....and that was alot of $$$$ at $6/per session I might add....but that is another story.......I will jump out there for AAA......Craig Cobb - AAA Tourney MVP + Pitcher of Tourney = 2-0, 14 scoreless innings, (obviously 0.00 ERA), 9 hits, 9 K's....160 pitches in 14 innings......HOLY COW......excellent job Craig. .......the Hendersonville hitters .......yes Pomeranz........we beat him but he is the real deal .......and 4/5 other Farragut players .......+ a couple from Riverdale, Mt. Juliet, etc. ......."I" liked #9 Porter from Houston Each team had any number of good/quality players........the TSSAA needs to a little tougher skinned......"make the call."
  10. Congrats gameday03.....you deserve to blow off a little steam.......you guy's had some real pressure on you the last 1/2 to 1/3 of the season. Many wanted to see you fail....or at least lose one more.....but, as the Father of one of your teammates, I could not be more proud of the focus, commitment, and team-effort I saw with your team's effort. I played the game for a number of years and never experienced the closeness or comaradary that this team had......most of the "nah sayers" out there have never experienced that "ones-man-ship".....that once in a life time "Muskateer" attitude......you boy's were one. I saw it in each and ever eye last night before you steped on the field....of battle as it were......when one force is as commited as you gentlemen were this year........anything is possible. No matter if you are the best of TN H.S. baseball for all-time.....who really cares.....you were this year and you proved it where it mattered
  11. anders, The sportsmanship deal.....I still take the Sgt Schultz on that one "I know nutting".......as to you ball team I am acutely aware of the best hitting team, outside ours, I have seen in my son's 3 years of H.S. baseball. I watched 4 games by you guys and how Riverdale could have been perceived better than you is beyond me.....maybe we see Oakland today. Also, it was cool to attend your graduation yesterday. Congrats to those new H.S. grads, and we might see your other fellows somewhere down the road.
  12. RHSfan, I'm with you on the communication.......AAA stood and waited alot a well.
  13. Thanks again HVol for a quality assist. I cannot say enough about the Hendersonville hitters.....these fellows are stone cold hitters. The leadoff man Reynolds is one of the best 2 strike hitters I've seen in high school. Richardson, Tucker, and Whitaker hit all day long against Farragut and Houston. .......but the Admiral's did find a way to win. Our side loaded up in the 4th with 6 runs on 6 hits. The Commando's deserve the kudo's HVol passed on for me.
  14. It will be Hendersonville and Farragut at 5:00 tonight. H'ville again knocked the ball around very well. Houston came back strong but did not have quite enough to catch them, 6-5 was the margin.
  15. Memphis traffic is like any other larger city....congested at certain times.......the good thing about Memphis is all roads run basically North/South, East/West.....just go down a few blocks. Granted I lived here for awhile, but I have always loved the Bluff City. Fun place to live. Knoxville, Nashville, Chattanooga all have traffic hic-ups.
  16. The fields are in excellent conditions. $5/per day to park + admission is a drag. The consessions at the AAA venue leave a great deal to be desired....I could be a little over critical being from the food service business, but when they tell you "we cannot charge you the posted price of $2.75 for a chesseburger, we have to charge $3.00 because we don't have any change," plus no cold drinks, no mustard, no buns, no other condiments - 2 days in a row, and why are you questioning me about it....what the hey.......maybe I'm being over critical. The games have been great, the fans teriffic, the teams superior, the people Fans and Spring Fling staff) are friendly, the cost is a gouge. But, after that small tirate.....we are simply very happy to be here and playing. I can put up with a couple of hic-cups in the 1st year learning curve.
  17. HVol, Sorry, I could not hear it ring....I'll put it on vibrate from now on. Waldrop pitched a fine game today. He had a rough 1st, but after they touched him up a little he struck out the side (8k's on the day, 6 hits - 3 in the 1st and 3 spread over the next 6 innings), plus 2/3 fielding gems by the Admiral defense). Once through the lineup was all it took for the Admiral hitters. 13 hits (by our count.....) starting in the 4th. Eldridge 3/42 singles/3B RBI, Sherrard 2 singles RBI, Waldrop HR/1B - 4 RBI's, Delmonico 2B RBI, Jimmy Kelly 2 singles RBI. Hendersonville is a contact team....they hit it where it was pitched. As to any poor sportsmanship.....I was not on the field....so I know nothing....they are a good team and capable of beating Houston in the a.m. I'll be there to see if this is indeed true.
  18. It is far from over.....and by the way.....after watching Hendersonville and Oakland, Farragut and Houston have their hands full. No one is giving the trophy away yet.
  19. HVol, Will do. We play Hendersoville tomorrow at 5:00. Those boys just hit it where it's pitched. As we watched the game today we were very suprised that Riverdale did not pitch one of their top guy's. We were told the starter was their 3/4.......in tourney play don't you try to jump out quickly? Shutting down for awhile.......
  20. Excellent memory bizazz.....it's Scott Dean. He would catch everyday for many teams, it is just tough he has to play behind McKenry.
  21. It was Steen.......and he threw very well. Meador on the hill (per one of their Dad's) tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
  22. HVol, I saw a few innings and Hill came out after the third. He was throwing hard but appeared frustrated.....Oakland looked good till the third, hitting Hill pretty hard....mostly op-field. But their guy's were matching Oakland run-for-run. When we left it was 7-4 Sullivan East in the 5th. We went to see Webb. Nate Hall pitched a 3 hitter winning 3-0. Bubba Herebold had 2 hits for Webb (single and a leadoff 2B.....actually he had a second 2B, but the scorer did not add it to the board - could be an oversite.....and HVol, you know tough Farragut's score keeppers are....and Steve was there with me.
  23. To be specific there were 7 K's by Pomeranz. He is indeed a quality pitcher......my only disagreement with you Opperman is it was indeed a double (called thusly by the offical Memphis scorer)....the kid played a hard hit banana ball poorly, got turned around but he never touched it.......as to the close pitches.....granted the ump was consistent but to several unbiased (no dog in the hunt) folks from the Memphis contengient around us they said they believed he was getting 3/4" outside allday.....but as I said, the ump was consistent, so no complaints from Farragut. As to dominating Pomeranz, no way. He threw very well and is a teriffic prospect....on another day there might have been a different outcome...but today was Farragut's, they did what they needed to do to win. Also, for every kudo that has been for Pomeranz.... I sure hope the Memphis press is as kind and flatering to Craig Cobb.....who outpitched him today.
  24. Could be not as many Oakland fans sign on to coacht.
