whitteaker, Your are correct on the move to 43 ft. is a change. Kids must be willing to change the style sometimes when moving back 3 feet. My oldest was never a power pitcher but she could make the ball move. But in college with some changes to her curve ball, the 3 feet made it wicked. But, it nice to crank the 60 mph if you got it when needed. As far as questions on Jennifer, Kat, Holly (8th graders) they can throw around 60 mph. But these girl have many more pitches then a fastball and to play at a high level of ball you must have more than a fastball only. Speed is not everything. It also a head game!

Correction on Hunters Lane. The first game was with Giles County NOT Gibb County.

Hunter Lane won one and lost two on Saturday. Amber Steen had hurt her thumb and didn't pitch any Saturday. Bass pitch the first against Gibb County lost 2-3. Spear won a extra inning game on a two run homer by Roberts to win 5-3 against Marshall County. Spear had to pitch the next game against Brentwood and lost 0-5. First inning BB score on a couple hits along with a couple error. Then Spear held them close, but HL just couldn't get any bats going against Tyree of BB. Any word on who won the tournament and other scores?

Hunters Lane lost in 8 innings to FRA (2 - 1). Amber Steen pitch a great game! She had 17 strikeout, only one hard hit fly ball to the outfield that should had been cought scored a run. Then they scored on a play at the plate in extra innings. Any time a pitcher has 17 SO they got to fine a way to create her some runs. HLHS has got to start putting some hits together and get bunts down when needed. They play at 10:00 and 11:30 today.

The coach told Kristen it counted and she got the win.

STD, The younger Nighthawks are also on the right track. The 10u & 12u both qualified for ASA-A last year and skipped the NSA World Series. The 12u finished "3rd" in the ASA-A Nationals and sent 7 California teams home, as they played some of the nations best last season. They also are going to the Colorado Firewoks Tournament as a 14u team. Also have plan to play in other top tournaments & NQ this summer. They recently won the Birmingham fall tournament as a 12u moving up in 14u-A. We all have the same plans I think. To have very good teams, play in the best tounament so our player can play at the next level and received a college degree with it.
