Lincoln Co was very fortinate to win this game. My hats off to Smyrna. Both teams played hard. Too many turnovers on both teams. If the Falcons are to make it past next week they better turn it up a notch or two. Good Luck next week Lincoln Co. you're gonna need it cause Riverdale is hitting on all cylinders. Lincoln Co. you deserve to go on. Whatever it takes. Just do it. You only got one game to worry about.
Smyrna Bulldogs hold your head up. You fought hard.

Come on down to the LC football field it is 100 yards long and 50yards wide just like all the other ones we have played on this year.
The one thing you will notice about the Pit is it doesn't have a track around it like other fields. That could make a big difference.

Are the Pumpkin Heads ready for the play offs?
-
stumpman dont bring that cushion of yours you can use mine
i remember all of those long rides we took . bone i too like the games with you being there lets hope that it is 5 more this year.stumpman we will be on the visitor side where we were the last game you came too.
The Pit has no visitors side. It just has a side that the visitors sit on. When we say Home field we mean Home field. The Pit is our House!
-
I would but there isn't enough seats.
-
Does Cumberland have any playoff possibilities. I hope they can come to the Pit and give the Falcons a game. The Falcons need a chalange going into the playoffs.
-
Is there any way they can both lose?

Lincoln County always has to worry about Riverdale!
The Warrior program is a great program! You can never overlook any opponent especially Riverdale!
As far as playing teams twice in a year LCHS has been doing it for years well since I was in high school anyway(the 80's)
LC has played Riverdale twice in a yr 4times and Oakland twice 5 times.
they have split every time with Riverdale, except in 1998 when Riverdale beat LC both meetings!
So LcHS hs never beaten Riverdale twice in the same yr!
But that was a different time a different team a different season and hopefully it will be different this time!
GO LCHS FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!
If Lincoln Co is lucky maybe it'll be like 1998, both meetings, stuff happens.

A Champion
A Champion knows his strengths and weakness, and is always in pursuit of the unattainable perfection.
A Champion has control. Emotional and mental control of the situation at hand. He knows the only thing he has 100% control over is he. He knows he cannot control how well his opponents play, the weather, the field conditions, how the ball bounces. He knows he cannnot control the past or the future. A Champion knows that all you can do is all you can do.
A Champion has an attitude of assurance that he is prepared to win. He steps onto the field and looks his opponent in the eye, knowing that if he executes his game, he will be a victor. A Champion deserves to win.
A Champion will not always be a victor, but a Champion is never a loser. A Champion strikes fear in the heart of his opponent because they know that a Champion will not lose. A Champion is intimidating without even trying to be.
A Champion treats pressure as a comfort zone. When the pressure is at its highest his chances of victory are increasing.
A Champion stifles his apponents with unflappable concentration and focus and the unrelenting will and desire to win. A Champion crushes his opponents with a fearless attack that does not fade untill the last whistle has blown.
A Champion finishes the race.
Good Luck Lincoln County!

To falconmom,
I'll have to agree but they are high school kids. I'm sure I don't know them as well as you. I wish them luck for the rest of the season and through out their careers whatever they choose to be.

Franklin Co. (3-1) will come in 2nd with Cookville still to play.
Coffee Co. (2-2) will come in 3rd with Warren Co. still to play.
Cookville (2-2) will be 4th with Franklin Co. to play.
Franklin Co. and Cookville will decide for sure cause it could be a 3 way tie for 2nd.
You can take that for what it's worth cause it's free.

I know a lot of things can be factored in other than just the scores, but for the sake of brevity, let's just look at the numbers.....
In their first three games, LC 115. Opponents 54
In their last FIVE games, LC 224, Opponents 7
In their last five games, they are averaging right at 45 points per game...and that's NOT running up the score. That's with the starting offensive team on the bench the 4th quarter.
The Tennessean may not respect that...but from that thread about "Lincoln County gets no respect" I can see that the people in middle Tennessee who know football and have seen the Falcons play....they respect it. I've seen 'em play a couple of times, and I sure respect 'em.
Don't get too excited just yet. Lincoln Co. has improved but the teams they have played may be having an off season other than Franklin. Coffee Co. and Franklin Co. have improved but they're not where they want to be just yet. Oakland and Riverdale are strong but they're down from where they have been in the past. The next season will start in the playoffs. Then anybody can beat anybody. Don't get the big head Falcons you still got a lot of football to play.

Graduate? Are you kidding? You'll be waiting a long time. UT dosen't graduate very many players.
-
I don't think he's had enough time to prove himself. At Vanderbilt it could take 5 or 6 years. He seems to be a class act and I think he could get the job done.
-
Lincoln Co might score 80 points on Franklin if they played them 4 more times and you added all the points together. That would be tuff because Franklin would probably figure out a way to stop them.
-
This could be dubbed "The Battle of the Running Backs" i.e. Nunley vs. Gregory.
My money would have to be on Gregory because of all those around him. I am anxious to see the Nunley kid. I think I may even make the trip down to Manchester to see this game. Where is the football field? Is it at the high school?
Could the rain affect this game? If so, who could it hurt worse?
-
Fuggly get a life. How about a little cheese to go with that whine.
-
no but there is always wishful thinking. I think Bear Bryant once said "You don't have to worry about State they will usually beat themselves.
Go Dawgs
-
You're right semperfi. That ball ain't round it it can bounce funny sometimes. I'm for Lincoln County all the way. I've seen crazy things happen after games like the Falcons just had. I have a lot of respect for Coffee County. Lincoln County couldn't beat any one else except Riverdale and Oakland last year and that was their season. I just hope Lincoln County will come ready to PLAY!!
-
Casey Clasen is lucky to have even scored in the first half. On that 90 yard touchdown the ball was thrown so poorly that the receiver had to steal it from the defensive back. The receiver should get all the credit and none for Clausen.
-
I think they need to give Full Philmer a raise and a contract extension. I don't think he's getting enough to eat. He looks hungry. Boy he sure did get fat after he won a National Championship didn't he. All the good players are going to Georgia. They don't have to go all the way to California or New York to get their players.
-
Coffee County won the first ever game in the Pit, for what that's worth. It might not mean a thing. The best I can remember Lincoln County was supposed to win that night. Lincoln County has scored more points on Coffee County in one game. This could be a good game especially after last week. (Howard) I don't think those games are good for anybody except the reserves. Lincoln County's starters barely got to play over 1 quarter. I hope they can recover and get back on track but it might not be as easy as they think.
-
Full Philmore need to go on a diet. There was a picture in this morning of him in The Tennessean and he sure did look like the great pumpkin in that big orange shirt. He needs to put in Jim Bob and send Clausen back to California!

All I'm saying is their is some very good feeder programs in Lincoln County right now and the future looks bright for the Falcons. They may go through a 4 or 5 year stretch where they're very competitive again. Then some of the kids may burn out or quit for whatever reason. Nobody can see in the future. The Falcons may have been down the last 4 years, but not out. I don't think this will be the last year for the Falcons. Lincoln County people will take the good with the bad for the most part. There have sure been a lot more good years than bad years and that is what keeps em coming back.
