Did Pickett and Clay play yesterday? Does anyone Know the score?

The tournament is at RBS with the first round being played at the higher seed. But with Clarkrange folding I don't know what we will do with the first round.

Awesome! Thats the only thing I can say. No shortcuts or taking second best on any part of this field house. Everybody who plays at Jackson Co. will be in envy. I don't thinkyou could whish for something better. I would also like to thank Coach King and the Cassetty family for letting be a part of the dedication.

Guys it is possible if someone who was creditable called and ask them to take a look at someone. However, I have coached two all-state players who both hit over .500 with 10 homeruns each both their jr. and sr. year and neither was seriously looked at by tech. Tech is also a d-1 school and it would be a huge jump in talent level from playing in high school. I haven't got to see him so I don't know how good he is. But, if he is a d-1 caliber player he won't be hard to pick out.

Antwan, My brother is coaching at Smyrna High. By the way I hope your owls do well. I was at the playoff game agaisnt Portland last year and loved it. You guys have a great following and support. I have played Smith co. in baseball several times and have always enjoyed it and it usually a good game. Oh, I am proud of our football team, I don't care if we have quality wins or not. A year ago we were 2-3 at this same point against the same teams. They have improved and worked very hard.

Muffin is right Mr. Polesit does not coach at Monterey. I know I've coached here for 10 years. If you guys want to bad mouth us thats your choice and we don't care. We have never been a state power and don't claim to be. However don't doubt how hard our kids have worked and practiced, We are 5-0 for the first time since 91 and don't care who it's against were glad to be there. titansbuck, If you think the way we run the wing-t is poor, thats alright and your opinion. I would like to know if we block it different in what ways? Monterey only ran about 5 plays. trap about 20 times, counter.waggle,full back belly, and sweep. What was so diffent than the wing-t teams you see? Just wanting your opinion.

Where does this happen? I coach a non-revenue sport and neither football or basketball has ever given my program any money. The building trades program is the only one who ever gave us any money.

We did away with the award two years ago. Coachs kept changing at other schools. About half the schools in our district get a new coach everyother year so we just hadn't voted on it.

The two awards are suppost to be equal. Pitcher was voted on first and Marcus got all 6 votes. After that we voted for player and Bowman beat out Mclerran. I don't think anyone was slighted. Six years ago Coach Elrod and myself thought up the idea of a all district team and awards to recognize players who have had good years. It was never meant to start contreversy or get people slammed on coacht. I felt that both those guys are standout players and they both deserved awards. However, over the past two years I have recieved many complaints about all district players and the bad part is it's not people from Monterey. I had a parent jump me during the district tournament last year during a game, because thier son didn't win an award. It has become more trouble than its worth. Which is sad.

I have to say I was impressed with Marcus. That was the first time I saw him pitch. He threw a good slider and good fastball. But, he impressed me most by pitching out of trouble the way he did. I don't know who made the catch in right but it took alot of guts to try and make it knowing he was going hit the fence. Good luck RBS and we will see in a few weeks.

ELA, are you talking about Tim Taylor? I hope it is our jr high coach who is a good friend of mine but, I don't make those decisions. I have no idea who else has applied.

Coach Buckner is no doubt one of the best Coaches under 30 in this state. He is a hard worker,knows the game, cares about the kids, and is a winner. People at Bearden should be proud to have him. Plus he is a Monterey boy.

The talk in Monterey is what?

As far as saying who the best pitcher in the district is I think it's a little to early to say. I think I've seen Hudson pitch to three batters in two years so I really don't know. However, I do know he has the size to be good. I think some people who really haven't been mentioned are Bowman from Clarkrange and Campbell from Celina. As for Jon I feel he's pretty good. Nobody in the district really got to see him last year. I think he was 6-3 last year and ended up being our best. As far as seeing him against Hudson It may happen but,it will depend on rotation, rainouts,etc. On the good side onlt 2 more weeks and we can quit talking and start playing!

I hate to hear that about Heady he played hard. Thats a tough injury to come back from. However, he seams like the type of person who will rehab and come back strong. OH! Coach21, I wish were still here Tyler is really missing you.

I want to know about Matt Heady. I was told he was hurt but would still play. I also heard that he may only play third and not pitch. Somebody let me know. I hate to hear about his injury , its tough. And also is it an acl or what injury does he have? Oh and thanks for all the complements on the other posts. Hope everyone is haveing good practices.
