    cookeville defeated white county 3-0.
  2. yeah, clarksville's coach is very good. cookeville's coach from the past four years (paul hayes) is now an assistant coach for the tennessee tech girls' squad. i am pretty sure he still does youth coaching, i think he coached my brother's u-15 team last fall.

    Livingston Academy

livingston, you're not a bad team, you just don't have the athleticism or coaching to compete with ridgeway.

copen got kicked off their team??? that's quite a loss. i'd say that could affect them come district tournament time.
  8. now i definitely think that blackman has a quality squad...but to say that they will easily win district and region is a fallacy. the district is wide open...
  9. paul hayes, although he doesn't coach high school anymore. turned cookeville from nothing into something
  10. do your schools not have drug tests?

cookeville tied coffee county 1-1. speaks a lot for coffee county, who three years ago got beat by a mediocre (at best) cookeville squad 9-0.
  12. i hear they have a guy who is pretty good

cookeville's district record the past two years? 13-1. pretty dominant, if you ask me.

    RANKING OF TEAMS

good to see cookeville still ranked, looks like our work last year earned the program some respect.

    Baylor

and jason, it's good to see people still supporting cookeville soccer

    Baylor

i played against baylor a couple of years ago, and for the most part, they were a classy team. however, there was one central midfielder who did not display class, and unfortunately for myself and my squad, i let that get to me, and my coach wound up taking me out for the game.
  19. i was there... both teams have some quality players, and if they were to play on a real field, i think it would be a close game.

if cookeville can get good play out of their forwards, i think they can compete for the district title. in any case, i think the district will be very tight this year, and there won't be a team like cookeville the past couple of years who will dominate.
  21. should make for an interesting matchup. shelbyville returns a plethora of starters, and cookeville returns three. we'll see how it goes.
  22. the keeper didn't seem all that great last year...unless he's improved by leaps and bounds, i don't know how one can assert that he is the best keeper in east tennessee...

    Surprise Teams

    shelbyville blackman
  24. caden, in the '01 and '02 seasons, cookeville lost only two region games. one was the riverdale debacle in the first round of districts in '01 and the other was the shelbyville fluke in '02. cookeville's combined record against franklin county and tullahoma, the two strongest teams in that region, in those two years was 4-0. case closed. dave, i'm doing pretty good. college is nice and fun. i have a test in two hours. blah. good luck this season, and if i don't go to boston for my spring break, i'll see you on march 1.
  25. and tullahoma made it to state in which of the past two years? and when we played you all for the region championship, we had an off game. we really didn't even play well against ooltewah, either. but we found a way to win. and cookeville has only been good for two years. heh, my freshman and sophomore years, we were rather horrid. it was an accomplishment to score a goal against oakland.
