  1. Quarterback at Lincoln County. Parker Webb. He’ll be a senior next year. Fantastic athlete! Great player. Just not much around him. Very little if any depth in that program too.
  2. Well said. Never know? It takes some special players, a great coaching staff, and the community coming together behind the program. It’s a process. Once the success starts happening, then more and more kids will come out and the youth and junior high programs will follow suit. It’s a trickle down effect in my opinion. Starts with good leadership obviously and goes from there. Good luck though...and definitely keep the faith! Shelbyville was in bad shape about 15 years ago. Rock bottom!! Then, things gradually got rolling.
  3. Much much more successful in the recent 7 or 8 years! Annual playoff team and made two trips to the quarterfinals. Hosted numerous playoff games. Had quarterbacks and receivers break state records. Sent many to play college, including multiple to Division I schools. The consistency, which started around 8 years ago, is certainly there. It should continue too. Many, many programs around the state would love to have that consistency for a long while. Just saying. I’m sure, as with any good program, they will set lofty goals and continue to try to improve too. Never settle. But they’ve been pretty solid, specifically on offense, for a good number of seasons.
  4. Time will tell. I agree Page will be good. Nolensville will be good too though! Tullahoma will be in a very spread out region if they stay 4A...lot of travel. If they move up, they will be in more of a natural geographical region with long time rivals. I can see them opting to 5A. We will find out later this week. Probably a 50/50 decision.
  5. Got a shot. What about Nolensville though? Also, what if Tullahoma plays up and joins that region??
  6. Who’s comparing them to Maryville and Alcoa on the field? Good grief! Maryville, Alcoa, Oakland, etc. gets criticized annually for their wildly successful programs and people are all the time making snarky illegal recruiting references about them. That was my obvious point! No more than that. You referenced that about Shelbyville. Would you be doing so if they were not so successful in recent years?! Doubt it. Any man with a brain and common sense knows I wasn’t comparing their overall program to the big dogs. It was about your snarky comments that always happens towards successful programs only. Nothing more...don’t read so much into things when it’s clearly not meant that way.
  7. Yeah these crazy comments and allegations are baseless and make no sense whatsoever. It’s a bunch of nonsense. I guess the haters come out when you get your program to such a consistent competitive level year in and year out. Maryville and Alcoa get this nonstop.
  8. No he’s not. He’s not biased in the least. He’s just speaking the truth as a diehard knowledgeable high school football fan who knows these programs and has tons of contacts in the game.
  9. No...doubtful. The head official told the coaches and administrators the 7 ejections and ending the game was the extent of the punishment. The ejected players will sit next week and deserve to! From there, learn from it in a big way and move on.
  10. They should be! Don’t give in to the PC mobs!!
  11. Where have you been watching Shelbyville games? The Cleveland game was the only one available to watch to my knowledge. Intentionally trying to take the Page QB out? Did you see this with your own eyes? Do tell.
  12. Correct. Those 7 players will be sitting next week as they should. Certainly unfortunate that it all happened. Hopefully, every coach and player on both sides uses it as a major learning experience moving forward, both in football and in life. That’s very important.
  13. Is this game tonight? Anybody out there that can post updates? Oh wait, still no fans at Metro games??
  14. Yeah not a good look. With or without him, it likely won’t matter in the playoffs. Too one dimensional. Just can’t see them upsetting Hendersonville or Mt. Juliet on the road, and it probably won’t be close. Good run though. Gonna be an 8-game winning streak followed by three straight losses probably. Just ran into better teams here at the end.
  15. A Franklin County player ripped off the helmet of a Shelbyville player and started punching! Another FC came in and blindsided a guy with punches. That started everything. They were obviously very frustrated and it showed. The FC radio crew explained all of that and was embarrassed by their actions. The police got involved and escorted a FC coach out. I’d be surprised if he coached next week or even keeps his job. 7 players ejected, including 4 from FC and 3 from Shelbyville.
  16. One of the worst offenses I’ve seen all year. The competition just caught up to them unfortunately.
  17. Now their defense is falling apart...could get really ugly! 16-0 Warriors early 3rd
  18. Warren County has very little offense. They are struggling a lot.
  19. To be honest, they probably should go to 6 regions and re-shape the playoff bracket format. It’s so watered down and spaced out in many of these classifications that 6 regions would probably be the right number. I’m sure they won’t do it though. They stay status quo and rarely make any improvements.
  20. The science, with high school kids, is zero hospitalizations, mild to no symptoms, 1 to 2 days to recover if positive with symptoms. That’s the science. The problem I’ve seen personally is it’s a crap shoot who gets drawn into it and who doesn’t. Somebody in an office at the health department just makes decision on who was exposed and who wasn’t. Also, if a kid doesn’t have symptoms in a few days, let them move on and live life! The 10 to 14 day contact tracing jail is insane! It’s also emotionally brutal on kids as well as others. How are we going to treat the flu moving forward when kids are much more at risk? Quarantines? Contact tracing? Shutdowns?
  21. Yes I think he’ll absolutely stay. They have so much talent returning and they are loaded with upcoming talent from middle school and the youth leagues. He’s going to build a really solid program. I really don’t see it being a big struggle. 5A is just as tough in many ways. To be honest, going in with Coffee County, Warren County, Rockvale is not intimidating. Sure, Riverdale and Blackman may be in the region too, but they’ve had their struggles in recent years. Obviously, if Oakland is in that region, they will dominate. But they dominate everyone anyway. I think Shelbyville can be an annual playoff team in 6A with its solid program and the coaching staff it has. I think there is a perception that 6A is much tougher than 5A. In reality, it’s not. Both are very competitive with great teams!
