  1. To a player who has dropped a couple of balls thrown to him or hit at him: Hey first base your new nickname is now Teflon due to the non-stick surface you have on those hands of yours!
  2. Didn't something like this happen last week with Coach Maynord and the new Jackson County coach? Just what I was told.
  3. Well, if he is the best rush drummer then who is the best pass drummer?????????????????????????????????????
  4. Allow me to be the first to say that the 2008 Mr. Basketball will go to the State Champions, Pickett County Bobcats, Mr. T.C. Capps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With Greg Bibb teaching and refining his inside game, T. C. will be THE MAN! I mean he is good now, but he'll be THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Hey Queenbee, I thought your daughter played really great tonight just too bad they got beat. It has truly been wonderful watching her play these years both on the court and in the field. You know who this is and I see you during softball!
  6. Thank you for your updates! Hey man I miss working with you!
  7. Hey Devil, are you serious about them getting to move it back to Upperman? In my 34 years of following this district I have never heard of this option!
  8. I really, truly, hope you are right and nobody would represent small schools better than Red Boiling Springs. And I hope it happens for Coach White, who has been in the business a long time. But please, please, please, slow down! Enjoy each step in the path for a state championship! Don't put extra pressure on the RBS players(They do read this stuff!) Let them enjoy HOWEVER far they get. Don't make them feel like if they don't win it ALL that this season has been a BUST. Being confident in what you do is a big plus, but too times, too many cocky, stupid, fans make smart aleck statements can put a bullseye target on your team's back. Then you will have people pulling against you! A lot of people thought Peyton Manning had the Heisman, hands down, no question he was going to win, and for whatever reason this turned voters against him. Don't give other teams reasons for wanting to knock RBS off! Let the girls play one game at a time and when it's all over and you're holding the big gold ball.......Then boast away, UNTIL then....................... just enjoy the moment!
  9. Hey gotmilk, I have followed this district since 1972 when it was called the Tri-Lakes Conference which had the following teams: Gordonsville, Van Buren County, Rickman, Pickett County, Clarkrange, Red Boiling Springs, Monterey, Celina, Jackson County, and Hermitage Springs. In the mid to late 70's Hermitage was a contending team, with players like Larry and Jeff Clements, the Likens boys, Donnie Birdwell, Bart Clements, I believe there was a Spivey boy also and I know I'm leaving others out as well. I also was an assistant in this league for 5 seasons during the mid 80's, so I feel I probably know this district as well as anyone. My point is this: The two games I have seen Hermitage play this year is the best I have seen them play since the late 70's! This coach has done an incredible job with this group of young men, and if my son played for them I would be feeling great about the future of this team. Please don't bash HSHS or their fans for being excited about their team because a man starving for food would be excited if all he got was a Ritz cracker! Meaning: 14 wins and a good showing in the district is great for a team that has been down for as long as they have. And yeah I think a 10 point loss to Clarkrange was a good showing! To the coaches of HSHS, I tried to speak to you after the game to congratulate you on your season but you were busy with your team as you should have been. So please except it now! Hermitage fans also congratulations to you for the excellent way you supported you team tonight and through out the year. To gotmilk: Shame on you for knocking something that is so positive for that community! Thank-you for listening to my statement!
  10. Anyone care to make a prediction on who will finish first thru fourth on both boys and girls? You gotta believe that Clarkrange boys hate having to play Hermitage Springs after having just lost to them less then 10 days ago. Also, can Adam West fire up his Lady Cats up to take on Larry White's young bulldogs, who might be looking past Monterey and be thinking about Clarkrange??????????????? Hey I'm not saying its going to happen BUT in a tournament the underdog can reach out and GETCHA! In 1987 Clarkrange boys ranked 8th in the state led by Mike Buck, had beaten Monterey by double figures both times during the regular season, in the district tournament the Wildcats came out red hot and the Buffs were cold. RESULT: Monterey sent them to the house. I'm telling you people, THIS TOURNAMENT IS GOING TO BE SPECIAL! VERY SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hey Dog, you would not happen to be my buddy who does the announcing for the dogs are you?
  12. With Clarkrange, Jackson County, Red Boiling, Clay County, Picket County, Monterey, and Hermitage Springs all getting after it starting Monday, I believe this could be the wildest tournament in the state!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think any one of three girls teams could either finish First or Third. Clarkrange, Jackson County, or Red Boiling have to be the favorites with Clay County, Picket County and who knows up-set minded Monterey will try to slide into the fourth and final position. On the men's side, Clay County is the number one seed but they were just knocked off by Jackson County who will either be the number 2 or 3 seed with Coach Greg Bibb's Pickett County Bobcats right there with them. Don't forget about Clarkrange and Red Boiling also in the hunt and probably one of the HOTTEST Teams around right now HERMITAGE SPRINGS Who just this past week beat Clarkrange and took Picket County down to the wire at Byrdstown only to miss a possible tying 3 pointer with only seconds remaining. This tournament was a packed house just about every night last year, and with the addition of Jackson County and the outstanding way that their fans support them, I'm just telling you now you had better get there early if you want any kind of a seat and you might want to get there around noon if you want to get a great seat. I just have a feeling that this is going to be a very, very, VERY, SPECIAL Tournament!
  13. Give Upperman some credit and do the math. Since opening the new gym in 2003, UHS has won nearly 90% of its home games and I'll just bet that we did not have the same referees for all of those games! Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, UHS plays some tough basketball and that UHS is a hard place to get a victory!!!!!!!! I mean you were playing the number 2 team in the district not the bottom team. And if we had only hit a few more of our freethrows, we would have kick your butt, Mr. expo hogeye man! Watch out in the tournament Mr. Expo, because it favors the underdogs!
