  1. i wasnt going after you i was merely backing someone's statement and then reiterating the fact that someone called me out on something that i never claimed. so you and i are, from what i can tell, mostly on the same page. i have views but rarely ever make bold claims about things that i am not 100 percent about and i don't call people out either at least not in the way this topic was started. i think it's childish for one and ignorant of the person calling people out, especially if they don't take the time and call the wrong person out.
  2. very good point, bradley has maybe two or three hundred more kids than most the schools in region 9. the montgomery county schools are all about 900-1200 kids in them. 300 kids isn't really much of an advantage. if size were the case, then why aren't schools like farragut blowing everyone out of the water? i think this topic was originally a ridiculous attempt to try and humilate a few people on a wrestling board. i checked back to see if i ever said that i thought region 9 was the toughest region and i named for sure several others that i thought were tougher. By the way those tougher regions that i named in another topic won most of the medals this year at state. so i dont know why i was called out? Here is what i said about region 9. judge for yourself if i said that region 9 was THE TOUGHEST, more like PROBABLY IN THE TOP 4. Then i said REGION 9 IS TOUGH BUT NOT THE TOUGHEST BY FAR. The original post is below. region 9 is probably in the top 4 for toughest regions, following bradley and cleveland's region (region 3 i believe), then soddy, ooltewah, notre dame, and red bank's region. and region 6 with franklin, overton, independence, and brentwood. there's some old post's on coacht that you can see which regions have the most medals and state champs. region 9 is tough but not the toughest by far. i'm hoping that the region 9 guys have a great showing this week and bring some of the medals back from chattanooga (the tournament is in chattanooga and for some reason they keep most of the medals in the city and they regularly take duals titles down I24 and keep them for multiple years in a row, that's a whole different debate though).
  3. well I'll go ahead and say this year was disappointing for region 9. As far as teams go I still don't think they're "weak". There has to be down years occasionally, well unless you're team is Bradley central. I appreciate being called out it must mean I'm famous /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=". Maybe next year I'll get one of BCB's awards /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />.
  4. i think the food for wrestlers isn't going to be a problem. i imagine they will bring whatever they want.
  5. you do realize there is already a two or three page topic on this issue. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. clarksville people aren't sooo bad. i'm sure you'll have some clarksville people rooting for the hendersonville wrestlers, i will as long as they aren't wrestling any clarksville guys. i do have my pass from last semester that looks just like the current pass. i might be willing to let it go.
  7. i'm not worried about parking, i've got a pass that'll let me park in any general and one reserved lot. but i go to school here so maybe i'm not that special, for as much as a parking pass costs it ought to make you special. i bet they'll try to make me pay if i want to get a parking lot closer to the arena. i guess i'll get a little exercise on the way to the matches. i knew at least one other person liked the ice cream too.

  9. the ice cream (which i so dearly enjoy) costs about as much as a beer at a titans game. i went to a few basketball games and you can easily spend almost 15 bucks on 2 hot dogs and 2 drinks.
  10. thats what i was trying to get at. on a lighter note though, im pretty pumped about the ice cream concession stands. well that and the wrestling.
  11. or you could walk across the street and eat at the University Center or go up to Campus crossings and eat Subway. there's a few decent places to eat on campus. i'd recommend subway or smuggling food in your bag. i mean if every wrestler is eating food how are they going to control it. i'd say it's gonna be tough.
  12. its at mckenzie on thursday friday and saturday
  13. i have no clue. if any weren't able to seek out competition it was probably based on budget issues. but im with you mrwrestling. i just had to put in my 2 cents. but if any of the area teams went to slamfest then they had to have wrestled tough competition.
  14. the people who posted that region 9 was weak aside from clarksville was not a clarksville high guy. any present and past clarksville wrestler knows that the region is not a weak region (i just wanted to reiterate that fact, i know mrwrestling realizes that but i want everyone else who reads this thread to know that as well). when i wrestled at CHS we could never get overly confident or too comfortable about being the region champ because we always had kenwood breathing down our neck or go a little further back to when dickson was tough. shoot clarksville doesn't even have the most recent individual state champ from the area. i think david johnson was the last one from the clarksville area in 05. mycyk has a great shot at winning a championship this year. i cant say that any of the clarksville guys have as good a shot as mycyk does at winning it all, but im not in the room every day and don't have the knowledge to make that call. region 9 is probably in the top 4 for toughest regions, following bradley and cleveland's region (region 3 i believe), then soddy, ooltewah, notre dame, and red bank's region. and region 6 with franklin, overton, independence, and brentwood. there's some old post's on coacht that you can see which regions have the most medals and state champs. region 9 is tough but not the toughest by far. i'm hoping that the region 9 guys have a great showing this week and bring some of the medals back from chattanooga (the tournament is in chattanooga and for some reason they keep most of the medals in the city and they regularly take duals titles down I24 and keep them for multiple years in a row, that's a whole different debate though). good luck region 9, i'll try to catch a few matches in between classes. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  15. tolbert is a quality wrestler but that's gotta be a pretty big upset for jake young. does that mean he won't be seeded in the state tournament?
  16. kenwood lost in the region semi to CHS. NWHS beat kenwood for the number two seed i believe.
  17. Just wondering but did you graduate from CHS and if so when?
  18. oh ok i just misunderstood. i thought it said the top seeded wrestler was put in the bracket and everyone else was randomly drawn. i knew that couldnt be right.
  19. very true but the jv they won against probably werent slouches either.
  20. so does that essentially mean that beyond a top seed the seedings are randomly drawn?
  21. i'm a clarksville high guy by far, i also know you can't count kenwood out from having a good run. they have one guy for sure a region champ and maybe one or two others. they did have the most region champs last year i believe. so they could be a factor. you can't count any team out.
  22. congrats to them, but here's a quick question, and this isn't a sarcastic comment in any way, shape, or form. but when has the future not looked bright for bradley in recent memory? /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
  23. i noticed where it looks like some of clarksville's and kenwood's wrestler's will be meeting up early in the brackets. that could prove crucial to who wins the region this year. the one i noticed was rye and armstrong are on the same side of the bracket. i guess rye lost to somebody to keep him from being a higher seed?
  24. is this the same weekend as region individuals?
