  1. I hope the Red Bank fans on here don't represent the overall attitude of the Red Bank fan base, cause it seems just a bit cocky and arrogant, but I'm pretty sure its the usual fence hangers still hanging on who are making all the promises. I'm sure the coaching staff knows what can happen come playoff time. As for looking white, about 99% of the kids are white so that would be a good observation. But football is football, no one expected us to even compete with AE. By the way, its a shame that a tradition filled football program like AE plays in front of a half filled stadium, and that's being generous. Where were the fans Friday night? I was expecting a much better atmosphere. I'd hate to see it over there this week against Johnson County. Anyway, I think we've got to keep Red Bank to under 21 points to give ourselves an opportunity for victory in addition to striking first in terms of scoring. Special teams is going to play a huge role as will field position. If we take care of the details we can leave Red Bank with a victory. If we allow big plays, penalties, and mental mistakes to affect out play, then our chances won't look so good. Everyone else is a throwing scores out like they work in Vegas, so here is mine. Gibbs 24 Red Bank 14
  2. I saw the AE/Brainerd game and it looked like an intersquad scrimmage, and I'm not just talking about the team colors. Both squads were full of athletes. Brainerd's qb was a well disciplined player and knew when to make a play and when to get rid of the ball. They played defense to stop the run, but have the dbs to easily defend the pass. I'm interested to see how Claiborne responds to the big loss to Greeneville.
  3. Apparently you must be employed by the TSSAA cause this was perhaps the biggest blunder that the good ole boys have created in a while. There are too many issues with the current system to even start, so I'll just leave it at that. Hopefully, they will see the errors of their ways and do something to correct it asap.
  4. Sounds like a good atmosphere. Looks like the weather should be great also, but just in case does the field do well in bad weather? What are some good places to eat nearby? WAR EAGLE! BTW, our website is linked to the left <----------------------------------
  5. Go Eagles...gotta make a trip south to the Scenic City. We've got a great challenge ahead of us with Red Bank but we are up to it. Look forward to making the trip. What's the atmosphere down there? Give us a feeling for what the stadium is like. Any Pics?
  6. Below is the official email that was sent to media outlets about the changes. After the 2009 TSSAA State Football Playoff brackets were released this morning, we became aware of significant errors that were made that effected seedings within the brackets. Changes/corrections were made in the following brackets after their initial release: DII-A, Class 3A (multiple quadrants), Class 5A (second quadrant) Class 6A (fourth quadrant) With the corrections that were made, there were not any schools taken out of the playoffs, or teams that were added to the playoff brackets. The only incorrect information regarding a school hosting was the incorrect seeding of White Station High School in Class 6A. The seed given to Millington Central originally had them hosting a first round game, and not White Station. We apologize about these mistakes and the confusion it may have caused for schools, coaches, and fans across the state. The correct playoff brackets are now posted on the TSSAA website.

  8. Has you know where frozen over yet? I wouldn't hold my breath for the TSSAA to admit anything.

  10. Prep Sports Plus Broadcasts begin Wednesdays at 8pm A weekly sports show covering high school sports with a different view. A link will be updated each week.
  11. I have to agree with you. It was a wild, exciting game. A hard fought battle by both sides. Heartbreaking loss for my Eagles, but we still have a lot of football to play. Good luck the rest of the way to GP and I think we might see an upset or two along the way also.
  12. I know why you never made the trip to the big city, probably because none of you know how to read the road signs to get here. Just wondering if you could possibly use punctuation and maybe a capital letter every now and then. Never mind, you don't need to do that to work at McDonald's, bale hay, or marry your cousin, do you?
  13. Thank God we don't have you people back on the schedule...it was such a thrill driving to the middle of nowhere for a game with Scott Co....and it was even better when you would come to Gibbs and bring 12 people in your horse and buggy to see a game. Trust me I'd rather be from Gibbs or for that matter anywhere other than Scott Co.
  14. You know, I don't post much on here because this entire board has gone down hill the last few years with the number of idiots that get on here and blast their traps as if they have actually done anything in their pathetic lives. But as a former Eagle, it irritates me that people that have not an ounce of productive thought want to get on here and blast coaches, players, and programs. And people wonder what's wrong with sports today, I'll tell you, a bunch of people who couldn't/never played wanting to analyze and dissect things that they don't have a clue about. What started out as a good discussion about a good upcoming game has digressed into what appears to be a personal vendetta against Gibbs and the former coaching staff. Apparently Vicker and Quit Crying sat on the same bench during high school. If you have nothing better to do than bash a high school coach, player, or team, I suggest, excuse me, I pray that you find something else to do because you add nothing to this forum. In fact you negatively influence the credibility of the entire site.
  15. I guess you pulled out your crystal ball for such analytical thought. Thanks for your insight. By the way, that's sarcasm.
  16. Really!! Cosby finished 8-3 last year playing just as tough of a schedule as claiborne. I wouldn't get too awful confident. Gibbs thought they would be 1-0 to start the season last year too when they opened with Cosby , and they got took down. Well speaking for as a fan of Gibbs, I didn't think that...but apparently you know something I don't. And we just scrimmaged them last week and during spring...handled them quite easily but this isn't the same Cosby as from last year.
  17. Any update on the District scrimmages that took place on Friday. Gibbs looked good against Cosby, got some good work in and it was a good confidence builder for the Cherokee scrimmage on Tuesday. If anyone has any updates, give us a shout. How did Carter look against Cherokee? And AE/Powell.
  18. Well considering, I do the Gibbs website, I gotta start with what I have. I have emailed all the district schools that I have an email for to request help and have heard back from no one. So if you know of the Austin-East contact or someone that will maintain Austin-East info or any of the schools for that matter, please feel free to have them email me, jjwsiv@gmail.com. Unfortunately, the Facebook platform is not really conducive to schedules and such unless it is in a note. So I'm trying to come up with a better, more user friendly system. Thanks for visiting the page but just like Coach T, I need some help from the other district schools to make the page really useful.

  21. What are the scrimmages schedule for the schools? Gibbs scrimmages Cosby, CAK, and Cherokee all at home.
  22. Football season is here with much anticipation. Lets have everyone's thoughts on District 3-AA, which includes; 3A teams Austin-East Gatlinburg-Pittman Pigeon Forge 4A teams Carter Fulton Gibbs Union Co Who are the players to watch. Who are the new players that may make a splash. Any other news is welcome too. Any uniform changes or changes at a stadium? For what its worth here is my order of finish. Fulton Austin-East Gatlinburg-Pittman Carter Gibbs Pigeon Forge Union Co This is based on nothing in particular, just looked right. Let me know how you think the district will shake out. And please, lets keep this civil.
  23. Don't forget the check out the new District 3-AA Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/pages/TSSAA-District-3-AA-Football/102081396924?v=wall&viewas=1409866045&ref=ts
  24. I know everyone is excited about the upcoming season and I know we all can't wait for the first day in pads, first scrimmages, jamborees and finally that opening game. With the new districts and playoff format, there is so much excitement in the air. As a former player, fan, and now a webmaster for Gibbs High School football, I look forward to the prep football season each season with great anticipation. As prep sports fans we are very lucky to have the resources dedicated to high school athletics. From CoachT to Murphy Fair to the team websites, coverage of prep sports has kept us all up to date on the latest news and information. A new resource that I have created is a District 3-AA Facebookpage. I encourage the fans of District 3-AA and all football fans to visit and become friends. http://www.facebook.com/pages/TSSAA-District-3-AA-Football/102081396924?ref=ts To all the district schools, I need you help to submit information about your school. Thanks to CoachT for allowing me to post. Love the new site and features.
  25. You put way too much thought into this!!! Just my opinion, but I hate the jamboree at Neyland. My sophomore year we played at Central, then the next two seasons it was at Neyland and it felt like we were in the Grand Canyon! It was kinda cool to play on the turf, but looking back, the one at Central left more of an impact then the others. The last couple of seasons with it played at the high schools has a much more festive feel too it.
