yes, i agree, oakland is returning almost all of their team, aside from 5 or so positions....they will be a hard team to beat this year....

i know of another senior. Rhett Parker. He is comming from oakland. He hasnt played football in HS yet, but he has played before. He is really excited and will probably be a leader on that team. I also know that they start practice on thursday.....i may go watch 1 or 2 to see what it's like.

Yea StopnGo, but look at riverdale's team last year. They lost 28 guys from the state championship team, and still made it back. so that dont make any difference. Sure it helps, but it doesnt mean your goin to be good just b/c u got alot of returning starters

ACtually slim, their practice was late this year. its usually in the first week of march. i dont know why they moved it though. I think that region4fan is right, the white team did have a lil better talent.I think that aj did a good job during the 2 weeks that i saw. i think he is gonna be pretty good. I know on the 0-line, they put Brandon demers and right guard, bo jones at center, and matt smith at left guard. i think, personally, that they will be pretty good this year.

well, bob, i'll give u a good mark. so u can then vote. anyway, my prediction on oakland football will have to wait. i know what i think, i will just wait till after spring break.

BhsOl, i know what u mean. I wanted to go to UT. Then i started getting recruited to play ball next year, and got excited about that. But right now, i dont think that i want to play. i still havent decided, but i am probably goin to mtsu too.

Dude, Brandon, You do not have the right just b/c u paid 12 dollars to tell people what their opinion is, and whether or not they are entitled to. if he is tired of hearing about brentwood,good for him. nobody asked u to get on here and bash him b/c of it. its a message board, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Your right, i am sorry for insulting you, i got angry. But i can question Flatt's ways. Anybody can. To me, and most other coaches, it doesnt make sense to drive for 4 hours, then get out and play. Maybe its just b/c i went to oakland, and we got it great there. But we always left with time to get to the town, eat, go to a hotel, watch a movie, do a walk through, then go to the stadium and get ready. I dont know, maybe all schools dont do that. We leave to get to the restaurant at 3. we have 4 and a half hours before the game gets started. Whether or not flatt believes in this is up to him. But it dont make sense to go ride for hours and then play. I know i wouldnt play as well as i could gettin off a bus and playig like that. Any way, u neve said anything bout what i said in my last post. Is it b/c u realize that i am right? That school and the lives of the players prevent them from going out of state. Also, the players wouldnt be as hyped playin a team they knew nothing about, as opposed an Oakland Riverdale, oakland blackman game. So besides the u saying to play better competition(which i dont believe you have to leave state to do) wat other points to you have that would make a team go out of state.

Ok, your out of ur time Brandon. We leave school at like 11 when we go play Linclon county. And, i have gone far away for football.AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I HAVE GONE FARTHER AWAY FROM MIDDLE TENNESSEE. My freshman Year, we had to play sevier county in the semi finals. That is past knoxville. We left at like 7 in the morning, and the only reason that we didnt leave on the thursday before was because it was thanksgiving. Why would any coach be stupid enough to schedule a game where his team rides on a bus for 3 plus hours, then gets off immediately and plays a game. Thats got to be one of the stupidest things i have seen on this board yet. If that happens, then your team is not going to preform the way they can. its common sense. That would take away from the whole reason you took the trip. And please, dont insult Bhsol, or argue with him. Dude, when you say that riverdale needs to find better competition, you are dissin on my school. Oakland. As well as the other schools they play. Incase you didnt read what some1 else said, riverdale is in an 8 team region. That means they have to play 7 region games. In case u dont realize, we are students too. Most coaches would rather schedule games where they could leave on friday afternoon,than leave on thursday. That takes time away from our education. Most coaches dont even really like leaving early from school, if it can be helped. Some times it cant. But, by going out of state, that means they would leave on thursday, come back either late friday night, or saturday. Most guys have jobs, so they would have to work. Plus make up work the next week that they missed the week before, WHILE having practice. Some guys work during the week. PLUS the school work for that week. So, the way i see it, there is far less to gain from goin out of state than u have stated.

Brandon, dude, u never answered my question. If BA and mba have been weak in recent years, why havent they scheduled their out of state games? it makes them better right. so, what team dont want to get better? I still dont see why you all sit back and say that RHS(even though i played at oakland) isn't that great just b/c they play local teams(tennessee teams). I think that region 4 in 5a is the hardest region in the state(so do others) I mean, the talent changes every year. Consider franklin. They werent very good the year before last. And look at this past years team. They did great. That goes for any team. The team can change every year. But riverdale seems to stay pretty consistent with their winning. If riverdale wants to schedule warren county, eagleville, and McNairy, then, more power to them. They dont have to prove anything to me. They have done it by their play over the past decade. That proves it to me.

I am really good friends with richard day, as well as his mom. i talk to him every day, and her on occasion, and i doubt that she is region4's informant. the reason i say that is b/c she has a lot more things to worry about and do than talk about footall. you know she teaches college. also, dont get on here callin region4fan a liar. Ok brandon, lets get one thing straight. Riverdale just needs to be a local powerhouse. I dont remember who said it in an earlier thread, but why does riverdale, or oakland, or blackman, or anyteam for that matter have to scrounge up a bunch of money to go play out of state. What does it matter to be in the USA TOP 25. I mean, it is great if you make it. If you dont, who cares. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY HIGH SCHOOLS THERE ARE IN THE US? (o, and by the way, Riverdale has been in it, Red Bank, Germantown, and a few other teams)Not every team is going to make it in the poll. I am the same was as bhsol....i played for oakland for 4 years, i really dont like Riverdale, couldnt care less if they win state every year or not, but, you can not say that going out of state and gettin killed makes you team better. you said it your self....in recent "weak" years, BA and MBA have stopped going out of state. WHY? if it is supposed to make them better, i would think that during the weak years thats what you would want. to get better. This past year was my last year at oakland. We lost to riverdale the past two years. BUT, i am willing to bet that we could go out of state and beat up on some teams. I GAURANTEE you that OHS, RHS, and BHS could go to some other states and win. But who cares. What does it matter if your program is nationally recognized? That and about 4 bucks will get you a tall white chocolate moca drink from Starbucks. Getting national recognition dont do anything for a team. it may get a few more scouts in there, but other than that, what does it get you. Respect? Great. But if you are winning around tennessee, you got all the respect you need. Why would i care if i went to play de la salle and got beat, but they said "hey, yall are a good team, yall earned some respect tonight". Why would that matter? IT WOULDNT. It would be nice to have national respect, but when it all boil's down, the only respect you need if from your opponents that you play year in and year out. SO GET THIS HORSE CRAP OUT OF YOUR HEAD THAT WE NEED TO GO PLAY OUT OF STATE TO PROVE OURSELVES. WHO DO WE NEED TO PROVE OURSELVES TO? THE TENNESSEE PEOPLE THATS WHO. AND I THINK THAT OHS, RHS, AND BHS HAVE DONE THAT ALREADY.

i would have to say, bhsol, that your predictions are pretty good. they are the same thing i think. i dont think that smyrna will be a boro team again next year, and i dont think that they will make it to the playoffs.i am not trying to take anything away from them, i just dont think they will.......well, they may be able to beat seigle, but i dont know.

it means if you arent as good as somebody at the same position, but u know people in high places, then u'll play over that other guy.

Region4Fan, i only went to last wednesdays practice. they looked good from where i was standing. they dont look big at all. it is weird seeing some1 in my number. but, its brandon demers. he had to change from #5 to an o-line number b/c he is playing oline this year. they look to be pretty good though. i think i'm gonna try and go to the blue and white game. i am not sure when it is though. if it is friday, then i cant cuz i have to work. i hope it isnt. but, yea, they look good...
