District 3A 1. Grace Christian - All region talk starts & ends with the Rams. 2. Greenback - Coach McCollum has enough returning to finish second. 3. Harriman - Athletes keep Blue Devils in race. 4. Knox Christian - Williams inside and Amos outside enough to keep Knights in fourth slot. 5. Midway - Ready to contend for fourth slot. 6. Berean - Unknown due to losses. 7. Rockwood - lost too much over the years. 8. TSD District 4A 1. Wartburg - Layne returns the most talent. 2. Oneida - Enough there to finish second. 3. O.S. - Don't count Bobcats out yet. Can finish second. 4. Sunbright - New talent helps out. 5. Oakdale - May contend for fourth with returnees. 6. Coalfield

Coalfield did not win. Rockwood - Harriman today. That is the simple fact. Coalfield may have outplayed Rockwood but in the words of Herm Edwards, "We play the game to win." Rockwood lives for another day and Friday also.

Coalfield did not win the game flat out. Did not make the plays when presented the opportunity. Rockwood took advantage and lives for another day.

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good and in this case it pays off for the Tigers.

Any thing is possible. Coach Coaker is to be commended along with his players for winning the district 4A championship. Better chance of a 3A repeat championship game on Wed. than a 4A.

My guess would be the infamous coin toss.

For the interested McMinn Central fan, places to eat when the Chargers come to Rockwood. Downtown: Juniors and Ivan's Gateway (Main four lane running through town): Shacks, Burger Barn, Hardee's, Subway.

Better to have made the trip to the state tournament than not to have gone at all. What is McMinn Central's state tournament appearences to date? Most roads are paved with a few still with gravel. Four gas stations. Five if you count pumps at walmart.

Sorry. Didn't really read the other posts closely. Didn't think Breazeale had gotten that big. But you never know now days.

The lefthander from Rockwood that pitched yesterday, is he a main pitcher for the Tigers? If so whew!!!!!

Don't know about district 4AA, but the TSSAA sent out a memo requesting the two games a night. I may be wrong but I did not see a lot of district tournaments with four game nights. None in the region tournament.

Wartburg and Harriman were chosen for region tournament sites due to location, size and parking. TSSAA wants tournament in a site that is easy for both districts to get to. THe days of all games at one site are over because the TSSAA only allows two games per night on a school night. Thus satellite sites are here to stay for a while.

Rockwood @ Wartburg: Have to have heart in order to get ripped out. Tigers have none, so Bunch and crew in a rout at home. Wartburg Harriman @ Sunbright: Youth and talent squeeze out tough road win. Harriman OS @ Grace: Has potential to be an interesting game. Can OS correct play from district tournament? Can't see Grace having second bad game in a row on home floor. Grace Oneida @ Greenback: Two well coached teams. Low scoring possibly. Greenback at home in a close one.

Coach K @Rockwood

Just a lack of talent. Do not have the true basketball players from the 70's and 80's. Was not making taking away from Kingston's state titles in golf. Just not a major sport that you sit around and discuss titles.

Will be difficult in football and basketball if you look at their district and region. Baseball a stretch also. Maybe golf, not a major sport that a lot of high schools emphasize.

1. OS - Schultz is the leader 2. Harriman - talented group of young players 3. Midway - young talent growing 4. Rockwood - disinterested 5. Kingston - lack of talent

Don't despair Kingston fans. You have a chance to win one on Monday as Rockwood is coming to town.

If you saw Rockwood play, you wouldn't even have them in your rankings. Not deserving.

King is better coach. Harriman wins with their quickness and wanting to prove they can play without last year's seniors.

Wartburg had heavy graduation losses from last year's state tournament team. Are well coached and have enough players back to be a solid team. Play a style that borders on organzied chaos. The more frentic it is the better they like it.
