When is the game between Smyrna and La VERGNE this year? If they have already played what was the outcome of it?

Johnny Black from Smyrna who plays for Maryville College has been a 2 year started now there, going into his junior year. Been playing like a badass from what I have heard. Earning first team all conference awards and what not.

I dont understand why anyone would want to leave for Florida and especially California to play in Tennessee. The competition in those 2 states is by far better than what Tennessee can offer. I can speak about California competition cuz I use to live there. And for one, i dont understand why anyone would want to leave Orange County, CA, to come to Maryville or Chattanooga. He is going to regret that move after he see's Tennessee girls, after being in California his whole life.

The game Cat is talking about was in 2002. Was last game of the season, and La Vergne just dominates Lebanon, knocking them out of the playoffs, and allowing Smyrna to get in . We werent horrible that year, we had all the talent in the world.

La Vergne played a running back last Friday vs Ravenwood that was a freshman. He ran for 100+ yards. Kid is small, and fast as heck. I would leave him out there rather than Jenkins.

Yea, I still believe that was big mistake on Donnie's part. Would have seen playing time immediatley at Vandy more than likely, and having a degree from Vandy would get you in pretty much anywhere. His dad and family are huge Alabama fans, so it made his dad proud seeing him wear that Crimson.

Come on now man, only thing worse than a bad loser, is a worse winner. Congrats on your guys first win, Im not taking away from any of u guys. I havent been a La Vergne student and player for a few years nows, and havent been to any of the games really to say whats wrong with them. But you dont have to get on here and talk to people from La Vergne like we are a bunch of darn idiots.

I want to say I am a La Vergne alumni and football player, class of 03' same year as chris grimes, crutchfield, vincent brown, troupe etc. It was stressfull than for us just like i bet it is for the kids now. We had so much talent, and could score with the best of them, we just couldnt tackle. I only had one year with Coach Thomas, and the man is great. I bet it is frustrating for him. I only went to one game this year, cuz my brother no longer plays, but it seems like they cant play all 4 quarters, they were up 14-0 to oakland, and they let that lead fall through. Much people dont know, but Marsalous Johnson of Smyrna (UT commitment), and Jeremy Mimms of Blackman are supposed to both be at La Vergne, these 2 kids would help out La Vergne a lot, but kids transfering will hurt any program. A lot of other schools have had feeder programs for awhile in Middle School, La Vergne is just now getting one in La Vergne Middle, and Rock Springs a few years ago. Having middle school programs cshould help out La Vergne in a few years hopefully.

Is Coach Hester still at Siegal? If so what do the kids think about him. I know at La Vergne he was one of my favorite coaches to play for, great motivator.
