  1. Anyone know if West broadcasts their games on radio or internet?
  2. AC vandalized West High Schools press box? PAALEEZEEEEE, That is the oldest trick in school to get your team fired-up. Probably the only place around that campus where there are no security cameras. I remember about six years ago, several West students were said to have urinated in a teams water coolers before the game and got caught. They were made to apologize at the other teams school. This was the week before AC played them and AC managers were posted to guard the water at all times up to the game. West students are just as capable of performing this act as someone from AC, driving 25 miles and jumping a seven foot fence with barb-wire at the top. Sounds like some of the West people, from that superior district, are a little worried about AC.
  3. Space3, I like predictions that put the Mavericks backs to the wall. Their focus is better and it makes them hungry. My biggest concern is as always. That is, who really wants to be here. The playoffs aren't for every 'team'. The whole team (every player) has to have the mind set of 'wanting to be there' for the prize at the end. It's tough and tiring to start the season anew in October for every playoff game is a championship game. In most cases, talent and coaching alone will not be the complete package. That's why Maryville and Alcoa are so good every year (besides the talent and coaching). Their players are use to playing and practicing up to December. They expect it as part of their season for the championship run. I don't know if AC is there yet, but they're very very close. This past week gainst Powell, a person associated with another district football team was on AC's sidelines. He couldn't believe the atmosphere and focus of the AC team (those playing and on the sidelines). Don't worry, be happy.
  4. Ha ha, I see that picture and think of the "The View". Especially with the volley ball chic who reminds me of that babbling Joy Behar (She's full of it, Texas style). I'd try again, if I were you.
  5. Don't waste your time Mavsinflight, they're Mairvulle peeps. Not Knox West. They feel more useful spraying on this thread than being concerned about Bearden again.
  6. Thanks. Just as good as coming from a West fan. Keep it coming.
  7. Red Reb, Maryville is a great powerhouse school/program in this state for which we all respect. However, Rome will fall someday (remember what Oak Ridge was at one time). If you haven't heard, we at AC embrace the cow, steer, or whatever you what to throw out thats similar. We moo from the load speakers, paint a cow on field, and shoot fireworks out of a cows head (cow dung on the field is next if we can get it past the TSSAA). Go ahead, it actually helps us to be "cow poked" by the arrogant. Starnbars, I (personally) don't even read your posts. No disrespect intended, just not interested in scrabble. Go AC. Eat more Rabel! (West that this)
  8. AC came to the game focused and ready for war. Powell didn't come on until late in the game, but made a great effort to win. Great effort on both sides. I do wonder if Moberly had played, if things would have been different. However, I believe that it must have been a very hard, gut wrenching decision not to play him. I guess that was the right thing to do for the circumstances at hand (what ever they are, I do not need to know). My respect to the Powell HS administration and the Powell coaches. It could have been easy to just play him and not give any answers. They took the high road and it cost the team (maybe, maybe not). I believe this will be a profound lesson to all in this area who have heard about him not playing. Ethics, morals, discipline, and responsibility are lifes true staples. All should be thankful for that lesson. A shame one team had to lose. Good job Powell. Great season. It will be even better next season. Go AC.
  9. Thanks for the support, Dragon92. As competitive as Clinton/AC schools (and communities) are with each other, I know its tough. I, as well, would support Clinton if the roles were reversed. I always want the AC teams to show well, even OR (as mad as some of 'ridgers' make me). I would really like to see Anderson County thought of in the same likeness as Blount County with the teams that are over there. After that, I will be behind the district teams. I want someone to pound Columbia, if Catholic can't put them out.
  10. I would tend to believe AC will show better due to Morristown West's effort in this past game. AC got just about all they wanted and I felt that AC maybe wasn't totally focused on them (only the coaches and players know that for sure). The look that Mo West gave them on defence seemed similar to what they got from Powell earlier in the year. However, Mo West couldn't control AC the same way. I think having a difficult game as this past week should help due to the last time AC played Powell, they had softer opponents (than Mo West) leading up the game. I believe AC has to look at this week as if it were their championship game for they will need to play their best effort of the year to win. No predictions on this one. Go Mavs!
  11. BobBBucks, are you talking about the game last year where Columbia won by 2 points in the final seconds ( Wasn't anywhere close to a blow out)? Are you talking about the game last year where the AC head coach verbally chastised the head ref at the conclusion of the game for there calls and a Columbia coach/police officer sprinted the width of the field (within a few feet of the AC sidelines)then chest bumped Coach Guilliam? The coach/officer didn't seem too upset with the ref's penalty calling to want to protect them that much. I'm wondering how much you Columbia people take your "Home Field advantage" with a Police Officer coaching on the sidelines. Think the refs are a little influenced by his presence there? PLEASE!
  12. Oppressed, don't throw me into that category. I wouldn't dare. I have a feeling of who you are and know the support that person has for AC. Sorry if something I said earlier may have caused you to think I would. Ok, AC has to play lights out. I am thrilled for this matchup for I truely believe AC will play them better. I was told that some kids said that they just didn't feel right. That could be nerves, heat, or who knows what. However, Powell had their race face on and took care of business. I believe this will be a better effort by AC simlply due to last night. Mo West set their defense up very close to what Powell did and had some success. AC adjusted, made plays, and came back believing they could win. I wish our kicker had gotten some fieldgoal attempts in the regular season to be a little more familar with trying to make one from some distance. We may need him to try again. I also was told last night that Powells big TE was out for the season. Is this true and is he one of those DE that crashed in on Tanner getting him somewhat out of his game? Also saw where the Knoxville News Sentiel didn't think the AC/Mo West game was worth a story. Guess they feel AC will be a non issue in Powells title march.
  13. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Morristown West out score AC in a scrimmage back in August. I remember posters advising that Mo West beat them by a couple touchdowns, then did the same to Fulton in a three way scrimmage. Means nothing I know, but interesting that they now meet for real. Hope AC remembers it, if thats accurate.
  14. AC wins by 14. Mo West will fight hard and make it tough. However, Tanner will get hot and help AC pull away.
  15. Just FYI, Morristown newspaper online shows highlights of their past games this season. They look more run oriented than pass, but are probably balanced. Check out link below. http://www.citizentribune.com/news/sports.asp
  16. Agreed. There was definitely talent on the field dressed in white.
  17. Thanks Oppressed. You are absolutely right in throwing my statement back at me. I said alot of wrong in that one sentence by simply referring to Tanner Williams needing to produce under pressure. I need to detail my view a lot better for it to be considered better. I was mainly thinking of this season so far. Williams has put up great numbers so far against teams that maybe he should. Against Powell and Oak Ridge, he had good numbers, but he didn't overcome the bad situation at hand to put up great numbers (200-300 yards is average for him as well as throwing in that offense). I understand that the rush was extreme in those two games and that they jammed the receivers up very well. I see those tough (or impossible) moments of adversity as opportunities. It is my understanding that no major universities are recruiting Williams at this point. The games were AC has faced overpowering defenses are the times when he can increase his stock for that recruiting process by doing the impossible. Is that easier said than done, yes it is. Many a player has elevated himself to that higher level by some getting it done in the bleakest situation. And sometimes when it seems like he did it without help. I hope to see Tanner Williams someday treking the same path as Chad Pennington, who got it done when it seemed impossible. And I believe he can.
  18. My feeling is that OR did not take HV serious and played less emotional ball than it did against Maryville, AC, etc (let down, I guess). However, I will not take anything away from HV. I know they have talent and have gelled quickly as a upstart program. I think OR's misfortune will be AC's blessing in that they now see HV in the same light as Powell. This game will also be good for AC in the same sence that they play better and focused with their backs against the wall. The remaining games from here out will be gut testers. Williams needs to have a great game when the pressure is on and I think this will be it. AC by 9.
  19. WOW! Congrats to Hardin Valley. Great win for a team in only their second season. I'm sure AC difinitely won't be over looking you now.
  20. What is the status of the Clinton QB, Willard? Will Patrick continue to run the wildcat-like offense for them against OR. I will easily say that Patrick is the best "gifted" athlete in the district (my opinon). I hope they move him back to tailback or whatever when Clinton comes to AC.
  21. I believe last Friday meant a lot more to Powell than AC (can't figure why or why not). I think AC, thanks to the spanking by Powell, will have their "race face" back on and win 54-14.
  22. Powell put it on AC and I'll give them full credit. If you all think Guilliam won't adjust anything and the players will just play with the same emotion, I like it. Last year, I saw the biggest change in AC after Oak Ridge beat them the same way that Powell did this past weekend.
