  1. Just something to think about.... On the subject about what Houston did while he was still on the mat. He told Creagan to (and i quote) " Shake My F***ing hand." And also, a question to the fans that were at the tourn. ... why the boos ? Were they at the fact that there was a "slam", or that there was a "bad call." Also, this kid should be suspended. If every kid, after they lost, walked off the mat, cusing, kicking stuff, and trying to hit cops and security quards...we would have some problems. Oh and another thing... At the Bradley Invitational, this was the same Houston that lost to the same Creagan...major dec. 9-1 So I mean for Houston to win he would have to wrestle better than the 1st match. And if he didn't, there was no reason to take it out on coaches, fans, equipment, kids in the stands, and the countless number of ex-wrestlers that were in the stands watching. Plus, I know that the Houston family is a very respectable family. This would be considered a huge black mark against the family and what they stood for in the past. Just a thought.
  2. There is no excuse for what Scooter Houston did tonight. He should be banned from wrestling next season. The second stomach turning event occured when Houston returned to the floor (for whatever reason) and many rose to their feet and applauded. I have a question for any of those clapping fools. What exactly were you clapping for? For shoving the official? For openly cursing? For shoving Creagan? For pushing an official? For kicking a chair into the fans? For slamming a $2000 clock into the spectators? For being uncontrolable as he was led away by friends, family, coaches and teammates? For assaulting a security guard. For setting an overall pathetic example to any youth wrestlers in the stands. By clapping, does that mean you approve of his actions? What the heck where you people thinking? It is hard to decide who wins the IDIOT AWARD; Scooter Houston or the clapping fans. It was sickening. Is that the conduct you expect from your son or a wrestler on a team you support? FYI --- The call was made by Ken Mara who is the top official in Tennessee and one of the 10 best in the country.
  3. You know fellas, We argued this issue for a week now and we could argue and insult one another for another week and we would end up exactly where we started. This is pointless. We'd be better off meeting in the parking lot at McKenzie before the finals and beat on each other for a while. We may not come to an agreement but at least half of us would feel better. I have one LAST GREAT IDEA...Next week, Coach Logsdon could hold a meeting at UTC and explain why Bradley will not wrestle McCallie. The Chattanooga Takedown club could be the host and charge admission to get in the door. All proceeds could be donated to UTC Wrestling. If this thread is any indication...That meeting would bring in more than a BC-MCC match. Let's let this thread drop off the page...PLEASE [Edited by toughest6 on 2-12-03 7:51P]
  4. Takedown- Finally a post we agree on. I went back and read your messages on this thread (as everyone should). You were the 'Original Sin' on this thread. Go away...you are pathetic.
  5. Post your address walkenvol. I'll send you a box of tissues. Go Irish
  6. Are the DII brackets "carry" also or does everyone go into the consolations?
  7. Don't provoke me, Gatling. I've turned over a new leaf. I'm gonna try real hard to be nice to everyone...Even the West Tennessee boys.
  8. Gibson .... #1 in State by a long shot.
  9. Just reading this thread makes me laugh. In a day and age where technology is very prevailant, I find it funny that someone would get on line just to tell people how good he was. I never remember Keller, Blackmon, McKnight, Simpson, or any good TN wrestler for that matter, getting online JUST to tell everyone how good they were. I mean that's great that you are a great wrestler. You still have state in front of you and just because you got on here and told everyone how good you are , wrestlers from all over the state would love to knock you out of 1st place contention. Although I'm sure you would love the challenge, I'm sure there are plenty of tournaments out west or up north that would give you some great competetion that would in turn make you an even better wrestler. Just a thought.

    145

Who at 145 is to look for at state at 145 ? [Edited by toughest6 on 2-4-03 8:19P]
  12. I'd say the View looks Fair.
  13. Answer the question. Stop telling me how bad Marable is. The bottom line is....CBHS needed pins and their horse was up against an inferior wrestler and HE COULDN'T GET IT DONE!!!!! My point is Marable may be good and he may have beaten Hadley and may have lost to Flynn by 1.....But BABY when the chips were on the table, he DID NOT come through and that keeps him in the horse category. Studs are guys like Ward, Keller, Simpsom, Blackmon, McCarty. If their team needed a pin, they pinned 'em. And in that same situation you can count on a pin from Blackmon or Jones or Hadley or Edmonds.
  14. Hey Gatling.. What happened to the best 171 in the state against Notre Dame? Didn't somebody tell him he needed to pin the kid. You will find in most cases, when the best wrestler in a weight class wrestles the 6th ranked wrestler in the weight class below, the result is normally a pin. Jones or Blackmon or Edmonds or Hadley would have pinned him. And before you start crying about refs or stalling, DON'T, I saw the match. There were no bad calls and no stalling. I did notice you haven't posted lately. Where you hoping we would forget about CBHS and 171?
  15. Personally, i've seen quinn wrestle match after match with the same winning result. Actually, i don't recall a match that i've ever seen him been endanger of nearfall or even losing or losing by descion. He is the real thing. Expect to see a lot of him on the college level.

    189lbs

Maybe if the Muffin Man spent less time in the kitchen cooking up his cut downs on the rest of the 189 lbers in the state, there would be less gassing and cracking in the 3rd. Just a thought.
  17. I love how these hardcore Soddy fans say " Cordell dropped to make the team score higher." It's a state championship is that not what you are supposed to do? Cordell and James will be a great St. fianls match. Why don't we give them two more weeks and when they step onto the mat in the Finals that's when we will know who the best guy is for that 6 minutes.
  18. Someone told me he was looking for a gun when Kyle "Best Wrestler In The State" got stuck. Later many of us thought we heard a shot when Bradley went ahead 37-3. The good news is...he probably missed.
  19. Yea I've seen Cooper wrestle and he didnt impress me at all. So I think Davis has to be the favorite.
  20. Hey Willie, maybe if you learned the head throw instead of the headgear throw you would be a state champ too.
  21. Matfan, One question.......... Did he cry? Keller, Simpson, Vance, Lennon and a hundred other tough guys wouldn't have cried if you picked up a gun and shot 'em in the kneecap. [Edited by toughest6 on 1-23-03 5:38P]
  22. I saw Povezano cry (tears and boo hoo) after getting poked in the eye by a Ryan wrestler in the State Duals. Tough guys don't cry. Keller...A Bad Man
  23. Cooper will win if he can last longer than the 2nd period. Campbell gases bad.
  24. Wrestler4life- I know you were there how did the finals go at each weight of the TVAC Championships?
