  1. That Coach Tidwell really has the Pioneers looking good. 0-3 against a weak schedule. Outscored 123-7 in three games. I see big things ahead for the Pioneers. Anyone want to speculate on the score when they play Lincoln Co. later this year? I know LC could hang an even 100 on WC, but I imagine the coach at LC will just sit on the ball before that happens.
  2. I know the coaches at Riverdale have tremendous respect for LC's team, notably all of the different problems their offense poses for Riverdale's undersized D-line. Normally I trust Riverdale's speed on D to save them, but this time I think LC's combination of size and speed will be too much. I think this might be the best team Riverdale has played since Red Bank in the BC bowl. LC by 3 in a battle.
  3. Warren County will not win a game this year.
  4. If WC was smart they would let Kevin Hobbs take over control of the football team. Everybody knows he was a baller in his day. Any man who can catch a 14 pound Bluegill out of the Blue Hole is more than qualified to turn that program around. I think they still have that Bluegill hangin' on the wall out at Smith Bros. Barber Shop. Reckon whycome they didn't offer him the job?
  5. Last year it was the coach throwing a helmet at a player. That was the big story for a few months and it died. Some of us suggested that maybe the coaching staff had some issues. We were castigated. Now you tell of an incident where a player, his parents, the coaches, and law enforcement come into conflict after a game and it reminds me of last season. Could it be that this program is spiraling out of control due to incompetent leadership from top to bottom? WC should disband football until another HS is built and they can step down to 3A and try to regroup. They have no business playing in 5-A football.
  6. CoachT is showing 49-0 but TSSAA.org is showing 42-6. Just curious if WC really did score. Looks like another fine showing for the Mighty Pioneers.
  7. This might be a good trend for WC. Let all the No-Heart's and the "If I can't start, Im going home to cry" people quit the team and maybe some of the young guys who don't automatically expect to lose can move forward. Now if only this trend would spread to the coaching staff....??? Just wishful thinking.
  8. WC got a grand total of TWO first downs against LA. They were shut out until LA put in it's practice squad. This team is not any better than last years incarnation of Pioneers. What did they do in the off-season? How does a team not improve in it's second year of a new system? Central 49 - WC 9 Hey, whatever happened to SportsEd?
  9. De La Salle plays Evangel later this year. I think it's going to be on ESPN. Maybe in October?
  10. Sounds like same story, different year in WC. I think it would be false to assume that LA somehow has superior talent to a school the size of WC. Lack of technique and discipline are most likely at fault. This team is poorly coached. I don't think that point is debatable. I'm not suggesting that I think with a different coaching staff at WC would win the state, merely that a better coaching staff could manage to stay on the field with a 3A team. I said it last year, and I'll say it again this year. WC is condemned to the cellar until the admin is willing to put up the dollars and the package required to get a proven Head Coach and let him bring a good portion of his staff with him. Until then, don't expect anything to change.
  11. Best backfield in thirty years? I bet Jeff Womack would have something to say about that. WC has been so bad for so long the players and fans have forgotten what a real athlete looks like. I certainly hope the players have more heart than they did last season.
  12. One of Eric's HS coaches from Riverdale told me the same exact thing. Best High School athlete that he ever saw. He will probably wind up wrasslin at Jake's in McMinnville.
  13. Anybody know what happened? What a waste.
  14. Does anyone think Warren County will actually win a game this year?
  15. Thanks coach. I just now found Football Fever on your homepage. Ill give it a try to night. I would love to clone myself so that I could be at about ten different games tonight.
  16. Is there a website or something that shows affiliates that carry the HS games? Im in East TN but I want to listen to the Riverdale game, and the Brentwood game online or on the radio. Any help?
  17. In about eight hours you will see Blackman getting stuffed by some Tenacious D!!!!!!!!!!! Riverdale wins this one by a touchdown.
  18. Riverdale will win this game barring a devastating series of injuries or bad calls. This Riverdale defense is the best they have had since the '94 team. They just don't give up points. Blackman runs a very predictable offense, and the teams that have deciphered that have destroyed Blackman. Unless Blackman completely changes their offensive scheme in the course of one week of practice, the Riverdale defense will shut them down. For Blackman to win they must execute perfectly in every aspect of the game, and create some turnovers, big plays, return a kick for a TD, that sort of thing. They have no chance in this game without some huge plays on defense. It will be a tough game and will probably be closer than the previous meeting, but Blackman needs a lot of luck to win this game.
  19. It's really a two man race. Reggie White and Doug Atkins are two of the best to ever play at their positions at any level. Everybody else is a step behind those two in terms of a legacy.
  20. What's it like being a blind cheerleader? Some of guys honestly believe that Coach Tidwell was a good hire. Maybe it's because I know coaches and you don't, but hiring this man from out of state with absolutely no ties to the school and no connections in the area was wrong for a number of reasons, and that has been obvious to a lot of us from the beginning. So here we are at the end of a completely disastrous season in which WC suffered several completely inexcusable meltdowns and you are still wearing your cheerleader outfits? I don't get it. What are you waiting for? WC gave up 62 points in a game this season! Get real. Wiggler, what I meant about paying his dues is in terms of legal punishment. He has been roughed up enough by the whole helmet throwing incident, move on. As far as coaching goes, he should do what any honorable man would do, and resign as head coach. Brian, you would be well advised to remember who writes your paychecks my friend. It ain't Ron Friar, and it aint Rob Nunley. Just a little advice. Your allegiances are questionable at best.
  21. The real crime here Stan is that Ron Friar has the audacity to ask anyone to pay to read that useless rag. You can read the NY Times, WSJ, LA Times, Sun Times, Tennessean, Knoxville News Senseless, and many others for free online, but you have to pay to read The Slander? Get real! Luckily their website is a joke to hack into and get a free password so you don't have to pay if you don't want to. Kell and Rob just like pretending to be "Insiders" in the abysmal world of WC football. Don't take that away from them Stan, they really don't have much else. As far as the coach goes, if he can put the pieces back together and actually win one game this season, I think he will have paid his dues on this matter. But the reality is that WC will not win a game this season.
  22. Frankly I am shocked the man hasn't resigned yet, but I guess he has his reasons. Maybe he figures if he can come back and patch things up it wont ruin his career. I think it would be very difficult for him to obtain a position anywhere else right now. In light of what has transpired, it makes you wonder if he wasn't running away from something up in Illinois. He wouldn't be the first coach or teacher to move to a new area to get away from something. I know one thing, if he does quit or get fired he won't be going anywhere for a while. You can't give away a house in McMinnville right now
  23. My mom is from Grundy County originally and she keeps us the house next to Bud's store in Beersheba. I think it's awesome that Grundy County has been as successful as they have in recent years. I wish some of that success would flow down the Collins to McMinnville. Keep up the funny posts. I could never be a moderator because I find it impossible to sugar-coat how bad the situation is in Warren County.
  24. State Championship? Not hardly. Crossville has the most pathetic, weak 5A schedule I have ever seen. You guys feel pretty good now, but wait until you play someone. I played against Crossville back in the day and I remember one thing about them S L O W.They didn't have any team speed 12 years ago and I doubt they have any now. Also, it seems from the previous posts that they do not play with class. I'll enjoy watching the boys from the mountain get smashed in the playoffs.
  25. I feel your pain. I'm from Warren County, apathy rules here as well. At least your coach didn't make sports illustrated by whacking a player in the head with a helmut.
