  1. Nice breeze out of the south-southeast last night and this morning makes it feel like I'm at the beach. No, didn't say it looked like it. You'd have to do that "...close your eyes and imagine you are strolling through the sand..." stuff. But, it does feel like it.

  2. USA! USA!USA! Great, great match.

  3. Brynn and Isabella made it safely back to Germany last night at midnight CDT. Saw them on Skype for a few minutes this morning. Quiet around here today but not in a good way.

  4. After 30 years of teaching a class in which I kept up daily with the events around the US and the world, I now sometimes wish I could turn off the fact that I really care about what happens to this country and just be oblivious like a lot of other Americans. I won't do it, can't do it, but sometimes wish I could do it.

  5. Isabella has arrived. Elaine is now in her element. :)

  6. ...and now it is hailing.

  7. Some people have posted about seeing the International Space Station recently. You might see it tonight but low on the horizon at 25 deg in the W-NW at 9:45. Tomorrow is a better chance even though it will be a little lighter sky at 8:38 CDT and will be 74 deg coming from the SW.

  8. CoachT is looking for sports-minded individuals to run CoachT prep web sites in other states. Email coacht@coacht.com if seriously interested.

  9. WBIR is reporting that at 11am, there will be a press conference to announce the resignation of Mike Hamilton as UT's athletic director.

  10. When in Charleston Laura Moody told us that if you would poke a hole in the middle of a hamburger patty before grilling it then it wouldn't shrink much. Today I proved her right.

  11. Tennis is delayed one hour today and is staying at Old Fort. Track is currently having a lightning delay as the storms move off to east.

  14. 50,705 unique visitors to CoachT.com this week. Thanks

  15. Went to Crockett Hospital this morning for a consult with a dietician as I am considered pre-diabetic (5.7 a1c) based on my yearly physical. Filled out the paperwork and was told that the co-pay was $110 and if I paid it in full would get a 30% discount. Now, it might have been worth $78 to me but a $110 copay meant they were charging my insurance company $1,100 for a 30-minute or so consult. I politely left.

  16. The terrorist group Hamas is mourning the loss of bin Laden, according to CNN and others, which raises a question: will we continue to criticize Israel when they go ofter terrorists (like Hamas) who are harmful to them since that is what we did (thankfully) to bin Laden?

  17. Another tornado warning for Laurel Hill and Center

  18. Looking for a beach house (sleeps 8) in the Jacksonville,FL area (Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, etc) for the week of June 19-26. Anyone have any experience with or connections, etc, in that area?

  19. Softball Cancellations for 4-11-11: Columbia at Lawrence County and all Rutherford County games.

  20. Had never yelled at another driver...until today. Going through the construction at the park, headed toward town, when he just missed hitting the bridge head on. Drove from side to side until the road went to four lanes and then preceded to swap lanes twice by wandering from one side to another, unintentionally. Almost ran a truck off the road and, luckily, I ended up beside him at the red light. :)

  21. NFL owners vote to have instant replay on all TDs meaning coaches do not have to challenge.

  22. Happy 34th anniversary to my wife, Elaine. She sure is getting old.

  23. Hydrogen blast occurs at Fukushima nuke plant's No. 3 reactor, the same plant where they had an earlier explosion.

  24. Wayne County is the 2011 Class A state champions and Carly Daniel is the Class A Miss Basketball.

  25. Please text me updates and final scores from the boys' sectionals tonight. The number is 615-763-9150 which is a dedicated number just for this purpose. It will be a very exciting night for TN high school basketball tonight.
