I agree with apsugov on this one. Josh Morris #44 Huntland is the best ive seen. Ward great athlete and the other guys are good too, but take him away from their defense and they lose a good player and their leader.

Cross up, You have no right getting upset over the post cause I have read some of your posts and they have been just as downgrading as that one. You have been talking bad about coaches and players, especially that Cooper guy from Northeast. Lets face it you like to dish it out but you cant take it when someone talks about your boys. I think this guy was just stating his opinion just like you do. I have never seen the guy from Northwest play and Im sure he is a good player but dont get so mad and start crying when he is just stating his opinion just like you do on here all the time.

I am gonna stick with my pick of Huntland winning the district this year. But you eagleville people and fans kil me. Regarding the post ahead of mine, there is nothing wrong with picking EHS. They have a quality team who can win it, but how do you mention their team and not mention Rigsby. I have said it before and I will say it again she is the best player on your team.

It sounds like mapic wants his or her son to get a game ball. Would ou quit whining? If the players at Marshall Co. are playing only for individaul recognition then they are playing for the wrong reason. I have not heard that many players on their team complain about the coaching down there, and they seem to be winning every year so whats the problem with the coaching? Come on 8-1 and they have bad coaching? They have had athletes down there forever and it seems like they have been a much better team since they got new coaches. You probably are some Pop Warner coach who knows nothing(no offense to your pops gov7) or your son is not playing enough, but would you please quit whining about a game ball in the paper. maybe they have not updated the stats cause they have been too busy watching film and doing other things to get the team prepared to play their next game. And by the way I am in no way associated with their program but I hate to read stupid posts like mapics.

If Huntland wins which they will because they want to make up for last week, they are in. More than likely they will finish 3rd unless Wayne Co. beats Collinwood which is highly unlikely. That would leave Huntland and Wayne Co. tied and Huntland beat them head to head so they get the tie breaker. But I have to give Forrest credit cause they have been playing very well since the tragedy they suffered a few weeks back. I still think Huntland will win and want to prove a point to everyone in their region.

I saw this on the girls board so lets see the boys opinions. List the players who you think should be on these lists. List single A, double A, triple A or a combined team. List as many as you want and facts about them if you want.

I am just like everyone else and want my hometown team to do good, but Eagleville winning the state? Lets be realistic now! I think they have a fine team but they will not win the state. And for all of you that are jealous because Rigsby gets all the attention get over it. I have watched her over the last 3 years and I have never seen her just look out for herself and be selfish. I have actually seen her make some great passes. Of course she may make some turnovers and take bad shots but everyone does. You have no true ball handler other than her and she makes your team go. She can single handedly break a press by herself. I bet that every team you play would press you if you did not have her on your team. Sorry to bust your bubble, and although I agree Brooks is a fine player, she is not as IMPORTANT as Rigsby is to your team. Most of the time the people who do the majority of the ball handling make more turnovers than the rest. And why does everyone say MC is overrated. Until you beat them on a consistent basis dont hate on them, and give them the credit they deserve. Its not like they only win every so often, they have been doing it for years.

Michael Tipps at Huntland has done a great job over the last couple of years. He does it without a lot of speed too which everyone knows makes all defenses better cause you cant coach speed. They are very fundamental and do a great job of tackling. Their defense has won and even kept them in a lot of games. The only team over the last 2 years that has dominated them is Collinwood and they have done that to everyone they have played.

I do not know alot about the girls teams here in Clarksville but I have to agree with Chev on this one. Rick Martin is a great coach and their defensive pressure is the best Ive seen for girls in a long time. Their guards and not just Garrett are very quick and most teams will not be able to handle the ball vs them. They also have great work ethic, and they will play as a team too. Remember the best talent does not always win...sometimes the intangibles like hard work,teamwork, and coaching will over come lack of talent. I dont think the Lakers won any championships before Jackson got there, and what would Duke be like w/o Coach K. Look for Northeast to finish in the top 3 at least.

The district will be wide open with many good teams. Here are my thoughts:(not necessarily order of finish) 1. Huntland- 4 very good players in Bauer,Sims,Smith,and Wilkinson. If they can find a 5th starter and depth off the bench they will be my favorite to win it. They also only play one senior a lot in Sims so look out for a couple of years. Also great coaching staff in Ray,Robertson, and Tipps. 2. Moore County- Great player in Fanning whether you like her or not. But if you were a coach and would not want her on your team then you are crazy. Smartest high school player Ive ever seen. Also great coaching and great tradition so they will be there. 3. Eagleville- All five starters back, questionable depth. Great player in Rigsby and she makes their team go and makes her teammates better. Nothing against the rest of the girls on their team but without her your team is average. She creates all the offense for the rest of the team and for herself. The rest of the players are good role players, and if Rigsby is on then they are tough to beat. Need a post player to step up. 4. Forrest- All starters back, should be good team. If their fans were not so crazy and would let their coaches do their job they would be better. Too many outside distractions. Not for sure her name but have one very good player. 5. Cornersville- My sleeper team. Great coach in Landers and his young girls are have gotten some experience the last two years. If you overlook them then you will be in trouble. 6. Cascade- Two good players In Bunn, and the point guard. Very questionable coaching in my opinion. Should let Mooney coach the girls since he got out of coaching the boys. 7. Unionville- Have had a world of talent but have not done much with it the last couple of years. Layne is back and they have a new coach so you never know. Had great records in jr. high so if new coach can gel them could be dangerous. 8. Culleoka- Dont know anything about their players but Eady is great coach. He gets the most out of the least amount of talent. Because of him they can beat anyone they play if you are not ready. 9. Richland- ??????????? I have no clue about them. Best players: Fanning-MC Bauer-Huntland Rigsby-Eagleville I know that there are many good players Im leaving off but these are the ones that I say are the Most Valuable. Without them their teams lose a lot, and they are all point guards who make their teammates better.

This should be a great game. I know that Collinwood has great athletes, but I think Huntland will upset the Trojans this week and show everyone they are for real. And by the way I do not think Huntland got dominated by Cascade. I believe they lost 26-21. And if they would have just executed their tackling better they would have won. Best of luck to the Hornets this week and to all the Wayne Co. fans, quit hatin on the Hornets cause they beat you. I know those kids and they are all a class act, because their coaches would not have it any other way.

Huntland 21 Wayne Co 14 Huntlands defense rebounds after poor tackling versus Cascade. If Huntland had tackled better then they would have beaten Cascade. I know that Def. Coordinator Michael Tipps and the rest of the coaching staff have gotten that worked out. Also look for Chris Fanning to have a big night for the Hornets as well as Kelly Cantrell on offense because the Hornets will come out throwing to loosen up the defense for the running game.
