You all know I was going to be the last one convinced, but I was shocked. Beat GH and have that letdown against Cookeville. It will be interesting to see how they respond and finish out the year.
It’s a process of rebuilding and I think Stroup has done a good job so far. The kids have taken to the new offense and he preaches accountability and team concepts. They won’t win every game and that was a stumble. I, like you, want to see how they respond.

I really thought it was a forgone conclusion they were #2 before the Cookeville loss. Now they truly run the risk of being eliminated from the playoffs all together.
You are correct. Just an unexpected turn of events. The head coach was preaching all week about having a letdown and the distractions.

Wave will win against Wilson Central as long as the bus doesn’t break down. The season comes down to Lebanon, a win likely gets you #2, a loss could knock you out completely. Wave should beat the Blue Devils by 14 to 21 points.
I hope you’re correct. These next 3 games are big. The unexpected loss to Cookeville really made things interesting. Still a lot of meaningful games in this region to play.

Mt Juliet
Green Hill
Lebanon
Cookeville
Gallatin
one doesn’t get in, who will it be?

Definitely a great game in this rivalry. Neither team should hang their head because it was a classic. This one will be hard to top.

If that’s the way it went, I have to disagree with political in fighting. If the Director of schools wanted funds for the use of stadium repair/updates he should have known and had proper documentation of bids and cost estimates of what the money was to be used for. Sounds to me, if it went the way you say it did, the Director of schools dropped the ball and showed his lack of competence of the situation. I have no dog in this fight living in Robertson county but would like to see all the schools involved get the needed repairs in a timely manner. There’s just a way how to and how not to.
He either dropped the ball or did it on purpose so the general masses would rally around him and against the commission. Trust me it’s political in fighting and both sides are to blame. You have one side who has spent money for whatever and one side who wants to spend no money at all. When the former super left, he left a mess.

Has the SCBOE taken a resolution to the County Commission for repairs/replacements
The Director of the schools wanted to move $15 million in reserve funds to use for the stadiums. The County Commission wanted a list of how much things would cost which the director did not provide. The County Commission then did not get a vote seconded to address moving the funds. Political in fighting.

That others team must be really bad

I guess we can bring this back up. County Commission does not approve or even vote on the spending money to replace the condemned stadiums.

If the playoffs started today Gallatin would be at home looking in after being in 2nd place last week. That is just how close this region is behind MJ. Now luckily, the season did not end last night. Gallatin has to shake off this loss but learn from it. The next 3 games are crucial to the Wave’s playoff aspirations. What is crazy is that 2nd place is still a possibility. Wave just has to take care of business. That loss was a gut punch but does not define this season, how the kids respond will. Go Green Wave, gonna be a long off-week.

Not a lot to say. Beech lost. Got out performed in all facets. However, this was two games ago and last week Beech dominated a Hendersonville team that beat Gallatin. You play a weak schedule and get false hope with a few wins. Maybe that will get your coach to put Beech back on the schedule. Oh… and Beech has three losses to good teams. There’s not a loss to Cookeville on that resume, but keep thumping that chest. Beech would be 7-0 with your weak schedule so go somewhere else where someone cares about your failed program. When was Gallatin’s last win against Beech? 2011? When it’s that one sided it’s not even a rivalry. We just like the gate.
Just remember before Crabtree got there, that rivalry was one sided the other way as well.

don't look now, but those Cavaliers are fighting for a playoff birth!!! What a huge win on the road! Go Cavs
Cookeville played a great game! They definitely won the line of scrimmage and played physical all night. QB took some shots but always got up and produced. The Taylor kid was tough as well, always made the play when needed. The time control offense worked really well. Good win for the Cavs.
For Gallatin, not focused on the task at hand and the turnovers were killers. There were a lot of points left out on the field tonight. That was very uncharacteristic of this team this year. Gonna be a long break before you get a chance to right that on the field. Also tackling was not good, gotta wrap up and quit the shoulder hits. Why do kids now days not wanna go to the ground? I don’t get it.

I agree with those picks!
Only thing that matters is the Green Wave and a victory!! They need that win tonight to keep that momentum going into the bye week!!

Good call on the Fair. It undoubtedly hurt the football attendance, but if Warren County had been undefeated, the home side would have been packed.
I think the Green Wave has a good chance of winning out and going 8-2.
How do you think Liberty will impact Gallatin over the next few years? Are you all open-zoned? Do kids have the freedom to drive to any school in the county they wish to attend?
Liberty only wants the people that live in that area. The affluent. However, only them and Westmoreland are allowed within the county to accept kids that do not live in that zone. The rate Sumner Co is growing, I do not feel that Gallatin will feel any effect. At least not on the football field. I see Coach Stroup actually drawing talent from outside the county to move to play under him. His offense is exciting and effective.

Gallatin powered over Warren County with some good looking football players. What year is your big running back?
To my eyes, you guys are closing to winning the region if you improve a couple of steps next year.
He will be a senior. He has been getting snaps since his sophomore year. Great kid!
Putting this new system in place and getting the kids acclimated took some time. The players have responded well and should be further along next year.
Warren County’s facility was in great shape for an older one. I hadn’t been there since the last time we were region foes. The young QB will only get better with time and his linage is pretty good in that area. There were a few other players that were just young like the article said but should be better next year with the experience. Just need more bodies for 6A. Everybody was very friendly that I talked to. I just wonder how many people were at the fair instead of our game.

This article is my process of trying to find real answers and to real problems. My conclusion is that Pioneer fans can be hopeful for positive outcomes in the future.

Warren Co has some good looking players on their roster just not enough of them. Sounds like getting those feeder programs active and keeping those kids interested is a good start to rebuild. Good luck!

Onto Antioch, first off. They have a FRESHMAN Qb that will no doubt be a power 5 QB before all is said and done. The kid picked up his first D1 offer just this week as a freshman.. I’ve watched film on him and I’m not sure I’ve seen a better player at his age In my lifetime. In this state anyways. Now his supporting cast has some to be desired but when Antioch are clicking they are dangerous. They have a few speedsters and an RB or 2 that can tote the ball. After watching film on Antioch/Stewart’s Creek, Antioch simply outplayed Stewart’s Creek, Although I wasn’t too impressed with SC tbh. If MJ chooses to come out and play flat they could be in trouble. Antioch’s defense is where MJ has to capitalize, many drives I’ve watched them turn into full metro mode and provide gaping holes or busted coverages against opponents. All in all it’s good to see Antioch back to winning ways, I’m excited for this matchup and I think it’ll be a good test for MJ to either prove themselves or… who knows.
I was surprised to see Antioch upend Stewart’s Creek. Stewart’s Creek started off the season really good. I have not seen Antioch on film but they have really rallied behind their new coach. Reminds me of when Woods came to Cane Ridge.

All I know is this team for Gallatin has gotten better every week. Cannot ask for more than that. Gallatin will be a tough game for anybody right now.

Gallatin @ Springfield
in Class 5A & Class 6A

Springfield has one thing that Gallatin has had trouble with and that’s a running QB. That has me worried some.
