    MJ 35 Cookeville 10

    Gallatin 49 Warren County 20

    Shelbyville 35 Wilson Central 14

keep an eye out for that Shelbyville game to be a blowout. This week the separation from 2-4 really takes place. Imo Wilson Central is not a good team, Green Hill is average. Lebanon and Gallatin appear to be fairly equal in talent level… with MJ as the favorite for now.

I can get behind your picks.  Maybe not the scores but I think you have the winners.

That's not it at all.  IF it is ruled that they played a single (as in just one) ineligible player, they will have to forfeit every game that kid played in.  Plus, they will take away scrimmages and number of practices allowed in spring as well as delay the start of summer practice by a period of time.  Probation is an NCAA thing that restricts post season play and reduces scholarships at the college level.  Entirely different thing here.  Some believe that Bearden is playing multiple ineligible players.  This will certainly play out soon.  But I don't think JJ needs guys on here talking about "what's a little probation ha ha, wink wink"  Not smart!

This entire thread is not smart…

Yea i was incorrect about a high school football prediction.   Excuse me.

We looked sluggish and lethargic from the kickoff last week.   Didn't look like the same team. Credit Lebanon tho for punching us in the mouth.    The offense started to click a little bit as the game progressed but our defense whiffed on tackle after tackle.

I haven't seen MJ play but if they have athletes like Lebanon at skill positions, I don't see us being able to stop them enough to keep up on the scoreboard.

I think Cookeville is getting better but not sure if this is a playoff year for them.  They have had to rebuild a lot.

  4. Really happy with what I saw last night.  Gallatin had a horrible first two series ending in turnovers but only one resulted in a score.  Defense played a lot better and tackled really well.  They still can get better but they looked much improved.  Offensively, you better be able to score because if you can’t you will be playing catch-up.  This team is growing and you could tell last night that they did not flinch after those two quick turnovers.  Came right back out and scored.  O-line is doing a really good job opening lanes and keeping the defenses off of the QB.  Game by game improvement!!

I'm gonna step on a limb and say that Brentwood is on a different level from most of the others, and they prove that again Friday night and beat Henry County by 10 or more. I do think Henry County has a good football team this year, I just think everybody is down playing how good Brentwood is.

    I agree with this

Not in the least, Oakland and Riverdale would make 1 and 2 in our region, would even go as far to say Siegel would make our 3rd place… It’s an inevitable fate waiting our region come playoffs. I don’t want to take away from the success of winning the region because that’s still an impressive feat. However I just can’t see any success coming from this region in terms of playoff success. Next year maybe a Different story.

There can always be a surprise.  Anything can happen on a Friday night.

I kinda see what you’re saying but station camp is 0-3. Not really sure they’ll make too much noise in 4a. Hville got humbled and MJ has been less than impressive through 3 games. The region may be well contested but honestly if MJ is the best we have, that’s not saying much. Imo

You expecting a deep run out of this region?

I seem to be the only one wanting to hang onto this thread… with that being said Green hill is 3-0, along with MJ and Wilson central(???) Lebanon and Cookeville look formidable as well. Gallatin has lost to a pair of good teams, and Warren Co.. is Warren Co.

I’d guess over the next few weeks some separation at the top of the region will occur, IMO Wilson Central is a fluke 3-0, Green Hill beat a down Summit team but I’m sure they think their world beaters. Lebanon looks trickier than I thought coming into the season. Gallatin could win out their reg season. Thoughts?

QB play has been tremendous in the region this year, MJ, Gallatin, Lebanon, GH, and Central all have good Qbs and can throw the ball. It wasn’t like this years ago.

IMO, I do not see things staying the same as they look right now.  I think MJ is the top dog but the others are really gonna get jostled around.  I know I would have loved to have had a few of these teams schedules instead of ours for wins but I know Gallatin will be better off for these first 3 games.

Fair assessment, how young are they? How many starters will return for next year?

I don’t even know.  Seems like they have a few sophomores getting some reps along with some juniors now.   They are moving pieces around trying to get better.  A lot of these kids never played last year and they now have 3 games under their belt.   This is a completely new system and way to do things.  They are improving and I think it will all get better as we go along.

  10. Mt Juliet played really well.  That was a tough defense and they played the pass about as well as anybody could.  Now that opened up some running lanes for Brinkley but MJ definitely did enough to stop Gallatin from winning.  The Travers kid had a great first half throwing the ball and Crudup ran tough all night.  Mt Juliet had that game in hand but allowed Gallatin to claw back into it.  They need to learn to finish but they should have a good season overall.  Gallatin had too many mistakes yet still had a chance at the end.  They are getting better, defense played much better than the first two games.  Special teams…. Yeah, they need some work but I think the team showed a lot of fight when down.
