Juan Smith from McMinn is one of the best guards in the state. You did name several from our district. Thanks. They will be there or even higher on your last one, guaranteed. I am just glad that finally somebody from McMinn got a little recognition. Juan doesn't play on a good team so he doesn't ever get the district or region recognition that he should.

McMinn people say that they beat Walker Valley in scrimmages but you all are talking like you beat them. Do you all play in the regular season? McMinn girls are picked to be ahead of Bradley this year in the district so I guess they are for real with the transfer. Latham and Hardaway will be a tough act to stop. McMinn ruled at the AAA meet. It was there boys as champs and they had a girl to win the individual state champ. They are hard workers with goodd coaches and they will be back in the state next year. Where is Laura Koob going to go to college? I hear she can go anywhere she wants to go.

Charles Little from Cleveland and Dustin Sewell from McMinn is gonna surprise some people out there.

It would be hard to choose before season even starts between Justin Hare, Kellen Pickel and Tim Cooper for the best guards. Charles Little is the best post player in the entire district. The big guy for Walker vally is tall but he has a terrible attitude so he won't do very good this year. He might do good in his district but he probaly couldn't play in Clevelands district. I don't know who Bradley has for post since Pugh left but I don't think he will be as good as Little. But I think if you had put McMinn on your list that Juan Smith is the best Point guard in this area.

Good luck to Mcminn boys who are the favorites to win the state country tomorrow. Also one of the favorites to win the stat is Laura Koob a McMinn runner. Good luck to all the runners from 5AAA. We sure got some good runners.

Sorry Gomab. It just seems like every couple of weeks that a thread is started about the top juniors in the state. There seems to be a lack of interest in the top seniors and sophmores. I myself think there are alot of good seniors out there that nobody seems to talk about. Tennesssee Temple has two of the best seniorss in the state that are not gettin much credit and they have two of the best sophmores too. I mentioned district 5AAA because McMinn is in it. I think that Juan Smith should be ranked in the very tops. He has no support at all and has to do everything himself. Maybe this class is very loaded but sometimes it just seems like all the threads talk about is the players from Unaka, Science Hill and then middle Tennessee and west Tennessee. We have alot of that talent you are talking about right here in the Chattanooga area. I guess people like Cooper don't get recognized alot because there stats probably arent as good because all five of there players were in double figures last year. Then Hare and Pickel were kinda in the shadow of allstate player Pugh and then they have to share the points and stuff. Sometimes the players off the teams that are not real good have better stats and look better on paper than some of these guys. Its not just you Gomab it just seems nobody gives our area alot of respect, not just in the juniors or in our district but in all classes and all districts. Didn't mean to criticize your polls, I like reading them. But I do think that our boys are as good as the ones you got listed at your top. Have a good basketball year!

ya'll are always writing about the best juniors and harldy ever about the best seniors or sophmores. Well I said it a long time ago and I will say it again. Distirict five has the best players in the state although Gomab doesn't think so. Juan Smith, Justin Hare, Kellen Pickel, Tim Cooper, Jay Davis, and Cori Pugh can play with anybody that any of you all listed.

I think that McMinn girls will win the regular season championship with the transfer from Sweetwater. With Latham, Hardaway, Brown and Styles, they have the best lineup. But when it comes tournament time I think that Cleveland or Bradley will win the region and district. Bradley has the best coach of all but not the best players. They have Brandy Scott and Brittney Jackson's little sister. I saw her win the district for them last year as a freshmen. But I don't know if they have anybody else that can be standouts for them. They are all so young. Cleveland has an awesome player in Holly Rogers. I don't know if any team can stop her. Cleveland has some other good players to if they can step up and help Holly out. Brainerd will win in there district but won't be able to challenge anybody in the region tournament. But if your talking just talent McMinn probably has the most.

Cleveland Lavonta Barber, Antonio Westfield, and Blake Caarver Walker Valley has Cody Hicks, Ryan Forshee, and Dustin Murray McMinn Central has Dustin Hearn and Mark Ridden McMinn County has Matt Ray and Jason Bruox Bradley County has Tyler Westmoreland and Kellen Pickel I don't think you can find any players in middle Tennesse better than these.

Read where Bradley beat Heritage pretty bad Friday night. Bradley has won two games now. Are they still in the playoff picture? Some teams I know have only won one game are still going to playoffs.

As bad as they are Central will be going to the playoffs.

What are the predictions of the cross town rivalry this weekend between Cleveland and Walker Valley? Will it be a barn burner like the other cross town rivalry was between Cleveland and Bradley?

McMinns basketball players play both. And they are good at both.

amen brother. Sportsphan predicts McMinn girls and McMinn Central girls both in the state tournament this year. Central girls will win it if they don't get a bad draw again. Bradley may make it to substate again but not go anywhere else. This area is a great area for girls ball and for boys ball. District 5AAA will be as good as any in the state.

It will be a very tough district this year. Maybe the toughest in the state.But I know that people in Memphis are going to say that there district is better. Who knows! Cleveland will be hard to beat but can they beat Bradley. Bradley has all there players back too excpet for Pugh and his brother is sposed to be better than him. McMinn can be tough to beat to if Smith gets hot. When he is hot nobody can beat him and if Sewell is rebounding inside and Ray on defense I see them beating Cleveland and maybe even Bradley. They almost beat Bradley last year. Rhea County says they are going to be good again. They have everybody back and went to the substate next year. I pick Bradley to win the district adn Cleveland to be second but in the region I think McMinn or Rhea will upset one of those teams. I can't wait.

Now that is a joke isn't it? I cant think of any players on the 1-7 team at Walker Valley that could help Bradley. If they can't help Walker Valley beat the teams they play I don't think they would have mattered losing them. Besides all of the players at Walker valley are charleston players. Not Bradley or Cleveland. The ones that start for Walker Valley left Cleveland because they were not playing there. No I think it is just that the athletes don't wanna play football.
