  1. I am proud of you for working with the pee-wee program.  So many children these days don't have anyone to show them attention or involve them in something that will challenge them. <_<

Thanks for the compliment fieldgoal1 and believe me we challenge them. We watch film of our opponent, do tendency sheets on our opponents O (i.e. the Broncos run wide to their bench 77% on 3rd and long), and have game day walk throughs 3 hour before kick off.

Some of the parents think we do too much (they usually move to Robertson County), but if you could see the faces of the players after a win at the local Dairy Queen you would understand.

  2. I work at mapco.  I make 7.50 an hour.  When I come in to work I have to clock in, put on my vest, stand behind the cash register and act happy.  I have to know 75 kinds of cigarettes and how much 300 convenience store items cost.  I have to watch and make sure no one drives off without paying.  I have to deal with mad customers, drunk customers, stupid customers, and robbers.  I have to refill the slurpee machine and know how to jiggle the handle on the nacho cheese machine to make it work.  I have to clean the bathrooms that people pee all over.  I have to unclog the toilets that people stuff a whole roll of TP in.  I have to mop the whole store in between selling lottery tickets.  I have to cover for the hungover 18 year old who didn't show up for his shift today and make time and a half- a whopping 11.25 an hour.  I have to go outside and trade someones propnae tank out while 10 customers stand in line cursing at me for working to slow.  I have to restock the shelves in all of my "free time".  When I'm not busy with that I have to sign the invoices for all of the deliveries after coutning to make sure that all of the product was delivered and not damaged.  I have to call the police about the kids who shoplifted beer, and I have to hose off the sidewalk where that guy just puked.  When I get done, I have to get in my junkie car since I can't afford a better one, and go home and work on the engine so that I can get to work tomorrow and don't have to stick someone else with my shift.  If I am lucky I can talk my kids into bed and kiss my wife before falling asleep.  I'm sure glad I went to gas stations as a kid or else I'd be in real trouble!!!

    Eddie,

I appreciate your devotion to your job. It is people like that make this country run. Realistically, I think anybody can be a head coach. You just have to have a little organization and knowledge about the game. The assistants do all the work. Usually, the biggest decision a head coach has to make is where the pregame meal is. However, you need to give assistants there dues.

I enjoy being an assistant coach on the pee wee level. I feel like when Portland wins, I win. I helped mold and shape those you men. Nothing brings a tear to my eye more than seeing big Tim run for a touchdown. I think, "I remember you as little Timmy who always ran out of bounds, but now look at you."

So, take it easy on us assistants Eddie.

  3. Hey Goph.

How is Mount Nebo doing this year?  Did they make the playoffs?

Ted, do you not ever watch ESPN or are you to busy watching FOXNEWS.

Mount Nebo got beat by Mount Holyoke last Saturday on the last play of the game. Holyoke's big 6'4" 260 lbs. Italian OT (Josh Stewart) scored on a fumble roosky play.

  4. Thanks Del Train! There is no need for that.

Now back to Madison Edwards. I found out last night he is definately in the running for the Murray job, HOWEVER, I heard he may come back to Mid-TN (where real football is played) and throw his name in the hat at Father Ryan (pretty sure he is Catholic) or possibly even Beech.

  5. I

    Isn't Murray High the Tigers ????? :(

    825414605[/snapback]

Probably, because Mr. Nancy was off on his coaching background of Madison Edwards so he is probably off on the nickname also.

How do you know so much about them living in Chatt.?

  6. His name is Madison Edwards.  I think he used to coach at Ezell Harding and Lipscomb.  He "cut his teeth" working with Kevin Temple at Lipscomb.

Temple is also largely responsible for McGavock's defensive success.  He trained their DC, Baskin Green, when he was at Lipscomb.

    Mr. Nancy,

I think you are on the right track but some of your facts our off. Madison Edwards never coached at Ezell. He coached at Eagleville, Goodpasture, then Lipscomb and was going to be Lipscomb University's first head coach untill Murray State called and offered him a position as a "walk on" coach. One thang led to another and the next thang you know he is in line to be Murray's next head coach.

I am sure he will be looking at his old coaching staff at Eagleville, Goodpasture, and Lipscomb to get some assistants.

What is the nickname of Murray's team?

  7. AMERICA RULES!!!!!

    pain is painful

Rules what? That is an open ended statement.

Rules football? (or runningball as the moron paper said)

Rules soccer? (or communist kickball as the other moron gopher said)

Rules all the idiots in the world?

Rules all biology majors? (the only other easier major is elementary ed.)

pain is painful-----------that was deep, now i know why you are

    biology major

Is this in conjuction with the America rules statement? Or just a random thoughtless thought?

  8. ALL of our coaches our strenght coaches. When we lift they all our in the weight room encouragin us. We have good coaches who pushes us. So I guess we have 6 strength coaches. We do have one though that is a little annoying. Always yelling at us.

  9. All I know is if there was a traveling junior league in team in football, i would take my team to Canton in a heart beat and show gopher how to play football. We are good because I have LOTS of assistants that I let coach. See gopher, give your assistants some ownership and they will be loyal to you. That is something you will never understand. Do you wear wing tiips on Saturday morning also?

  10. I think it is your skin turning yellow, because that is what gopher is--- YELLOW, or as we say in Portland YELLA!! U YELLA BOY! I bet your a weekend head coach of a junior league that likes to boss other parent "assistant" coaches around. Probably about 300 pounds, big burly, bearded guy aren't ya?

  11. I completely agree with Lauderdale. Just to throw a couple of stats, that may have been mentioned in the past. There are some unbelievable football players, that were not only wrestling stars, but give partial credit to wrestling. I can list a few off the top of my head:

Mike and Bob Golic (Hall of Famers)

    Ray Lewis (Florida state champ_

    Emmit Smith (Florida state champ)

    Eric Rhett

    We all know Scott Wells

    and there are many more...

I do not know Scott Wells. Who is he?

This post was my point last week!!!!!!!!! I get people all over me on my post, but they support this post. I am confused.

Another thing about wrestling, has anybody ever seen those shirts that say the most beautiful thing on a basketball court is wrestling mats?

That shows you how weird wrestlers are. I can think of a lot of more beautiful things on a bb court than wrestling mats. Like how about a bunch of super models?

  12. OK- so you are saying that not all football players are good wrestlers

You are an idiot. Steve Goldberg played at the University of Georgia. "The Rock" played at the University of Miami (Go Canes!). Diamon Dallas Page (DDP) played at some small college in Northern Ohio called Mount Union. The list goes on and on.... I would be willing to say that if most football coaches did not make there players wrestler, then there would not be enough grapplers for a team.

Glad I came over here to see what was going on.

I like wrestling. Every Monday and Thursday night I watch it. I just don't like it when football players are accussed of being non wrestlers.

  13. He had a great kickoff return for a TD against us this year. :)

Yes he did. The run was quite spectacular. He showed his size and speed. He caught it on the 10 juked 3 players on the 20, flat ran over two guys on the 27, and from there just out ran every body. The crowd was going wild!

I have watched football my whole life and I have never seen a run like that before.

The crowd was yelling, Eli, Eli, Eli.

    Wish we had him.
