Hmmm.....Hate to say I told you so, but I told you so....You sound like a disgruntled parent once again. Called for Baggett's head because he was too lax, whats the reasoning for Cox's head this time?.....Some things/people never change...

My sources said it was Young's job if he wanted it...He didn't, and honestly I dont blame him..The talent is better on the girls side right now anyhow....coach Cox will do a good job, if given the oppurtunity...Wll he assist Coach young on the girls side, and does anyone know who got the ath. director postition?

I think if you reread what i said the entire time, now that the hire is made, and think about it, you would agree with more....The three things that I said that most of the parents disagreed with were...1. scott moore was not the most qualified applicant INTERESTED in the job....1 girls district title(and first round region loss) with the best girls team that HC has had in 20 years , does not make you more qualified than everyone...2. Being a Houston Coutian and having the support of the players and players parents does not make u the most qualified...3. That Politics would decide this job rather u wanted them to or not(never said it was right or wrong....just said IT would...(and it did) happen..... Now I am going to say something else that will probably make you mad.....Respecting the players will be through making them succeed with hard work....Being mad and not respecting the coach will do nothing but hurt your sons chances at a successful high school career....Because even if you do get them fired more than likely it will take a few years(judging by HC past)..And your kid will be gone anyhow... Also Cale I think that is a good attitude to have about your new coach..Believe in him until he gives you something to not believe...Then question it...But never stop believing

this hire had nothing to do with local or not local...Coach Moore was not going to be given the oppurtunity for political reasons, and the other local was not the most qualified applicant...

Whatever you say...Yes he is a very good point guard, that Trevor wish was still at Houston county, where he would have a great chance to be successful...I was asking a question...Not making a statement about the hire...

Although I heard that this was the case from a reliable source yesterday, I was not going to post until someone else said it... Coach Cox was an assistant for a state tournament team last year and knows about winning...I wish him the best of luck there....I also want to wish Coach Moore the best of luck, in wherever this takes him..Coach moore is a great guy, and if you anyone was to reread what I said, you would know that I really do think that...People got mad because I claimed there were "more qualified" person interested in the job...The guy who got the job...No, but others interested were more qualified, and I stand by that statement...Just because you all did not want to hear that, sadly enough it is the truth..And thats what made you mad for some reason...Records in that level of play, back my statement exactly.. Just as I told you all the truth that Coach Moore would not get the job... I have not heard forsure if coach moore was even considered by Ms. Jolly, but I would of found it very interesting, if that was the paper work that would of went to Ms. Harvey's desk..... Houston Countians need to support the coach that was hired and give him a fair shot...He did not ask to get into this political battle and everyone should know that....He takes over a great teaching and coaching position, and hopefully this is not a stepping stone job for this gentleman...Also through the grapevines, I heard that coach Cox has a girl that is currently in high school...Could this hire also help the girls team? Also not supporting th coach would be the worst thing possible for this entire situation, I bet Coach Moore will support coach cox..

Not a kid, and I have not posted on any other thread...Was out of town on work this weekend and didnt have time to check coacht....Spelling is not the issue...Typing is, but I dont have time to edit these things on word...U get the point....If I was a kid, how would I understand the politics of HC better than all of u adults? And how would I know all these old people? Like I said watch and see, Coach Moore could have Coach K resume...its not a matter of his qualification, its a matter of the politics that are brewing...But I also believe that other qualified people are INTERESTED(hence the word....maybe even look up the def.) in this job are more qualified for the position... Now back to the subject.....I will not say i told u so later...Ill take care of that now.... Lets talk about the coaching position and stay on subject....

Being qualified doesnt have "houston co. grad" in it... The two canidates from HC have been a head coach for high school basketball for a combined 2 two years(i belive that is right) And this is not saying that people shouldnt have a shot... And I believe that Coach moore is a qualified canidate... I have never once said that he wasnt, but i know that there are more QUALIFIED people that are interested in the job....Plus I believe that Ms. Harvey would never let this situation happen as well... Regardless if she says she has a say or not..She has the final say....along with the Board.... Example in hand,Bruce Pearl was well qualified to get the Memphis job....And they wanted him...But if Deam Smith, Roy Williams, or coach K would of wanted it....No longer was he the most qualified for the position... Just look outside the box for a minute HC...You have a few very solid coaches very interested in the position... Dont push them away....I think Coahc Moore would do a very fine job, but just look at who else is interested and when they are hired, give them a fair chance to be successful...

Read people please...I said I support all sports in this area, and alot of the people involved in these sports...I said of all these team HC is the team I have supported the most.... The football program has been down for quiete awhile, that is no secret... These same parents/kids that are on here in support for Coach Moore are the same ones that were trying to run coach Baggett off....Also my question is if coach moore was to get the job and his son taking starting roles over some of your kids...these will be the same parents complaining...wait and see

Look some more and you see where I am a fan of this area sports....This was on the football board, I beleive, where HC has been giving wins pretty regualr for the last 5 years... Out of this area, HC is where I have supported the most thoughout my life... I was never told off by grendal....He said who he thought, and I said otherwise.... Most of you are the same ones that were trying to run Coach Baggett off in another thread....thats who everyone should listen to, some parents that were trying to run the old coach off...

I do know of trotter, but I know coach moore as well as all of you, and I really respect him as a coach.... I have never said that he would be a bad hire what so ever.....Just because I have stated that he will not get the job, everyone has turned on me...I wish he would get the job, or atleast I wish that Ms. Jolly would suggest him to Ms. Harvey and then see the fireworks flair...I have personally talked to Coach moore about the whole issue... All of you are jsut upset because I stated the truth in which no one wants to hear...

This thread is actually tlaking about another coaching vacancy that is in Houston co...If u want to start a fan club...Start a new thread that is support Scoot Moore as HCHS new Boys basketball coach....then u have an arguement...

If and when I walked into a room with Coach Moore, it would be on first name basis, with a hand shake and all...I would ask him how his kids(trevor, trey, traci, and tori...(in order from oldest to youngest)) were doing and who knows where else the conversation would take us... I actually did not attend the CA game or any there after, all the games I attended this year were prior to that contest... I am not negative...I state the truth...Sometimes people are scared to hear the truth, and they want to stay in their own box....

When the dust settles, if trotter decides not to apply...Cox will get the job....Ms. Harvey will get to shed blame for "putting the ball in Ms. Jolly court"...Coach moore will continue to look outside of HC for a new teaching position.... If trotter applies they would be stupid not to hire him...Ask CA, a team with little or no more talent than HC this past year took them out in the first round of the State tourney... I am not pulling against coach moore whatsoever.....and with little that I know about coach cox I really hope and think he would be a better fit than Coach Cox.... but however you want to look at it.....Its not going to happen...

Houston Countian is something I have been at one point in my life...not now, but still find myself attending a few games throughout each and every year...I know many of the powers in Houston county, and I am jsut telling you what is really going on...Truth hurts but small town politics will play a role in this hire....Scott (a friend of mine, that I talk to atleast 10 tiems a year) will not be hired, plain and simple...For many of the wrong reasons at that. Also, the Ath. director position will come open, so the money for whomever is hired could be taken care of through this position as well..

Four the next four years....This is a hire for 20+ years...I am not saying he is not qualified or will not do a good job...I am jsut saying he will not get the job, and if trotter was to apply is not the best canidate...

Must of missed this post, but it shows how little research u have done...Summertown has 13 more students in their school, so if averages are close that means he would have 6.5 less boys to choose from(not a good arguement)...Lawerence Co. alothough paying a little better than Houston co. is a rural community that dos not pay much better... Trotter applied to the Waverly job a few years back...why? To go back home...This will place him much closer to home.... I never once said that Coach moore was not qualified....But he is not the BEST hire...Trotter has proven to be a winner on this level.. Coach moore is a great guy and I feel so bad for what happened to him on the law suit situation...I take his side every time someone approaches me with the issue... About Ms. Harvey telling the boys....She realizes that Ms. Jolly will pick coach cox, taking the pressure off her when someone asks why did scott not get the job...She can say, "I didn't pick it"....Now what would be very interesting is if Ms. Jolly decided coach moore.....Then watch the veto bill Fly...... FYI I do know this system along with many of the surronding systems, very well...I have close ties in Houston Co, Hump. Countym and Stewart Co. Ath. department and board members...I have also held residence throughout some portion of my life in all three of these counties....And no i live in none of them right now, but I know plenty of the powers in all three counties...

Like I said before the decsion will be made by "ms jolly", but thats because ms. harvey and mr beal do not want to be the ones that say that coach moore didnt get the job. I like coach moore and think he is a good coach. But in high school boys basketball his record is 0-0...He has also coached some very good teams throughout his career. Good middle school boys teams and probably the best girls team HC has had in 20 years the year that they won the district...I really do think Coach moore is a good coach and has the potential to be a great coach, but Trotter has done wonders in Summertown...A school smaller than HC, and in his 10+ year tenure in coaching the boys basketball team has been to the state tournament as much as all of the HC high school sports combined(throughout the history of the school).... Like I said before if he applies and HC does not give him the job, they are not looing for the best interest of the sports program..
