Marion Co. beat Grundy Co. to win the title of District Champs today. Grundy then turned around and beat Hixson to advance to the Region tourney also. Marion hosts Meigs Co. Monday while Grundy Co. travels to Walker Valley. Good luck to all teams.

Marion and Grundy have played twice.... each team stealing one win a piece.

Well folks believe it. East Ridge did beat Marion Co. Sat in the tourney. Marion let ER steal multiple bases on them throughout the game. It is early in the season and these teams will face each other again for district bragging rights and it will be interesting to see if Marion can bring their "A" game this time around.

Wow I didnt really see much from Sequatchie Co for you to be talking so much. I know they beat Marion but that isnt saying to much for Marion's first half performances. Marion had 1 home game, yes thats right 1 in the first half of the season and that is hard on any team no matter what you say. I think that once Marion gets in a groove they could be a good team but I guess we'll have to wait and see. As far as Smith fronting Watts, who wasnt in front, beside, or behind him Friday night?? Not one time during that game was only one guy on him. By the way, even though Marion got outplayed in the first quarter and eventually ended up losing, I wouldnt count on Sequatchie Co. coming down here for a win. As a matter of fact I am not the betting type but I guarantee a better performance and a different outcome at MCHS. Keep talking KELL44, but dont blame Marion when your foot is in your mouth when the rematch takes place.

Congratulations to Marion County defense. They didnt win the game but kept the Kell girl to 2 points. Good job defense youll have another shot at the indians.

First off congratulations to Sequatchie Co. on the win Friday night. I know it was big for you guys. Secondly John Watts has had it hard here lately battling with kidney stones and what seems to be a fractured ankle of some sort. Chad Smith did not shut down John. John shut down John and you know that. Another thing is you had to double down on him all night just so he couldnt touch the ball. I am not saying that isnt smart game play I am just saying that one Sequatchie guy couldnt shut him down, it took at least 2. Now that we have that straight good luck on the rest of the season.... Watts and the rest of Marion will have another shot at the game with Sequatchie Co.

Ok. First off, where are these so called rankings coming from? The only predictions that have been made were in the Chattanooga Times Free Press this morning. Marion was predicted third out of the eight teams in district 6AA. Whether or not that is a true indication of how good they are or not... we wont find out until February. There werent any state predictions anywhere. To me, preseason polls mean nothing. All they do is get into the teams heads and make them think they are better than they could truly be. I dont know where people are hearing such rumors but all the predictions were in the district status not at the state level.

The whole district 6aa will be tough this year. I think every team has just a much high expectation as you are saying about Hixson. I know one team that isnt going to lay down this year and they arent from Chattanooga. Howard and Hixson pretty much dominated the Valley teams last year but look for the "little" country boys of the valley to be ready when game time comes. Good luck to all 6aa teams cause it should be a shootout for the 1 2 and 3 spots this year.

Hey SQUSballa5.... you must have just heard the news from one of the players that were trying to make themselves look good or something. Please don't tell me that you were at Walker Valley when Sequoyah played Marion because you must have had your eyes closed. I don't remember Sequoyah EVER having the lead over Marion. They look like a pretty young team out there and played like young ones too. Marion won the game handly. I am just saying dude, save yourself the trouble by not getting on here saying that your team won all there games. They may have beat Mcminn and I think that they may have, but as far as beating Marion....... keep dreamin.

Marion played hard on Friday night. They gave everything they needed to win. They didnt convert 3 times inside the 20 yard line and got down on theirselves after they fell behind. Marion took the 1st half 6-0 but miscues in the 2nd half sent a misfortunate Marion County team back to Jasper. To Marion: Keep your heads up, you played your hearts out Friday. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Final score 21-6.

Marion County is a huge underdog going into tonights game. I know our boys will put up a fight tonight. All they have to do is leave their hearts on the field and they can pull this off. I want to congratulate the seniors on this team. It has been a rocky road, but you always put everything you had into the games. Good luck tonight and play for at least 1 more game!!!
