Definitely in. Had all the 6A teams finished 1st and 2nd in their districts (other than Franklin County and Lincoln County) then there would be some doubt, but that didn't happen (and I don't know why I thought that was likely). The Rebels will be there.

Not anybodies 'groupie'. I was just raised to respect one mans accomplishments and if I had a complaint to give that person the chance to respond to my face like a MAN! Even when I was slamming Gary Rankin on here I had the guts to let him know it was me and he knew it and exactly what my complaints were. You on the other hand are a gutless COWARD who does not have the decency to let the person you are constantly slamming respond. Another possibility is that the skunk is just some (apparently remedial) high school kid with no guts and no shame wanting to stir up crap. He seems to enjoy the attention he's getting (which is why I tried to ignore him, but see my last post) and his spelling, grammar and math are terrible. He's been repeatedly insulted and he just comes back for more, like one of those rollie pollie punching bags.

If not his resume it'll be one from a relative or a buddy. Using these boards to question the way a coach does his job or decisions that he makes (which beyond the healthful benefits obtained from venting is still pretty much a complete waste of time and can be more detrimental to the team than what the coach is supposedly doing or not doing) is one thing - anonymously appointing oneself the leader of a mob carrying torches and pitchforks and constantly trashing the coach is another. It's hard to believe that anyone would do that unless there is a hidden agenda. Pay no attention to the anonymous coward behind the curtain, Falcons! Keep your heads up and finish the season with two more wins!!!!

I suspect there will be confusion along with weeping and gnashing of teeth after the regular season. The key will be how the powers that be prioritize winning one's classification against finishing in the top half of one's classification - if the tie breaker system kicks in then the LC/FC winner may not advance.

Most folk say that's true, but with 33 qualifiers for 32 spots I wouldn't be surprised if the winner ends up occupying that 33rd spot, considering the records of these two teams. If the winner does make it there will no doubt be lots of griping from other teams in the state.

My friend, I'm an old timer who loves the way the game used to be played. I love the wishbone and wingT and hate the spread. Last year the coaching staff spread the players out all over the place and could not find the endzone. This year those men wised up and put in the I formation which is designed to run the ball with the FB blocking. Just looking at the stats I would say offense isn't the darn problem and if they are putting 300 to 500 yards of offense a game whatever the heck they are doing is working. I bet those men do work special teams every Thursday just like every darn coaching staff in TN but in the end it ain't the X's and O's that win ball games it's the Jimmy's and the Joe's. I've seen them play 3 games this year and I can't fault Atkins with his offense or Brewer with his defense but the punting team needs work. The only boneheaded call I saw was the kneel down at Shelbyville. If Martin is getting the job done let him run. Heck we had a big FB one year in FL and I bet we ran FB Trap 15 times a game. You use the talent you have on the field and if one play works 5 times in a row you keep running it until they stop it. Excellent post! You understand football, without all the drama that folks want to add!

3. The winner of the Franklin County and Lincoln Co. game will be in. Not necessarily, according to my understanding. The top two teams in a district definitely go regardless of classification, and in theory the top half of teams in the same classification go - the potential problem is that it's possible for more than 32 teams to qualify under these rules - if that happens then the tiebreaker rules kick in (which I haven't looked at carefully). I don't think that finishing in the top half of one's classification is a trump card in that case.

Coffee County hasn't been blown away by anyone this year, indicating that they have a respectable level of defense and/or determination. Other than the White Co. game their offense doesn't look too strong, though. On the other hand, the Falcons tend to struggle on both sides of the ball - at least for four quarters - if they can put four quarters together they'll win handily - if not it will be a low scoring up-for-grabs game. Then again, if the Falcon defense doesn't play four quarters the Red Raiders will take it handily. Hmm...I have no idea how this game will turn out.

Maybe...but I'm having a good feeling about this team going into the stretch. They're very very hungry, and they've played some really good quarters. I think it's their time to gel and start shining! Play all four quarters and get it done, Falcons!!!!!

Interesting...you sound a lot like a fella that went by the username of PowerSoftBall last year - he kept trashing the coaches - and he was looking for a coaching job...kept saying things like "it's time for a change" and "Coach T is past his prime" and "there's no discipline on the team" and making negative predictions. According to his profile page he hasn't been online since last May. I wonder how his IP address compares with yours.... Hmmmmm.... Maybe you know him?

Hmmm...I haven't thought of that LOD...that certainly would explain his persistence because surely he's smart enough to understand the potential damage his behavior could cause - it may very well be intentional.
