  1. hey junglefever..... I completely back up everything stephenZCA has said thus far in this post. Zion definitely is a school for academics and for having a quality learning experience that is not found in many schools these days. i also agree with him on the fact that Zion could have stayed in our small Christian league, but we did want to "be a part of the community surrounding us". one comment of yours that i wanted to address is that zion will have to "double their recruiting fund" if they ever want to beat M.P. two things: 1. we don't have a recruiting fund to begin with because zion does not recruit. all of the players that play for zion want to play for zion and are not simply there because we are paying them to be there. they want the quality education and the great Christian environment. and 2. like stephenZCA said "never say never". M.P. is definitely a very talented program and will always be a force to be reckoned with. however, i believe that as long as zion continues to compete in this league, we will continue to get better, and i do truly believe that our winning years are somewhere down the road. so as for now....zion, continue on with this season, although it will definitely be hard at times, it will be worth it in the end, just to prove everyone wrong who doesn't believe you can finish it! GO EAGLES!!!
  2. Awesome job Zion! After last years games between us and Mt. Pleasant, it must feel great to get this big win. Wish I could have been there to experience it with you! Great job! A few more big wins like this and maybe other teams will start to realize that Zion really is a contender in this district, and will stop putting all the blame on other teams mistakes and realize that Zion is just getting better! Go Eagles!
  3. Getting back to the point of this topic, tonight at the Zion vs. Collinwood game there was another prime example of the ref's taking the game away from the players. Zion led throughout the entire game, and in the middle of the 3rd quarter, everything went down hill. After a few legitimate calls, the referree made the game-changing call. After calling a block on one of Zion's players, the player hit the floor with his fists (obviously mad at himself) the referree proceded to call a technical on the same player. As far as we as fans could tell, no words were exchanged between the player and the ref, and this call was definitely not a good one. After this, the referrees all seemed to team up against Zion, and the game ended up being decided by an array of free throws due to last second fouling. Point is, this game was definitely decided by the referrees, when they should have simply let the boys play. This was one of the worst officiated games I've ever attended, and if any of the referrees who called this game are reading this post, know that many people have these same feelings. Just let the boys play, and don't take sides simply because you don't like how certain boys play or how certain coaches coach!!!
  4. You're right we don't boo and we don't complain about calls because we were raised better than that and we don't believe in degrading someone else just because of a ball game. We take pride in being the Christian school in Columbia! Once again.....Go Eagles!
  5. GG840.....That had absolutely nothing to do with my statement, I am just saying that our guys show a lot of heart when they play, and almost always play with a great deal of respect for everyone involved. I am not arguing with anyone's points on here, so please, don't continue arguing just to be able to see your posts on here. If it doesn't have to do with anything being talked about, why put it???
  6. I have nothing to say about this game as I am no longer a student at Zion, but as a former student I do take pride in the way our fans conduct themselves at games. Unlike those of C.A., our fans DO respect other people around them, and have a general respect for everyone involved in the game. We pride ourselves in our sportsmanship, and it is obvious that many other schools in Maury Co. do not. Of course there is going to be a few general exceptions to every statement, but for the most part we have great players, fans, and definitely coaches, who have a respect for everyone. Go Eagles!!!
  7. Tonight at the Zion vs. C.A. game, Earl and Boshers colided when they were both going after a ball hit into shallow center. After about a 45 min. delay, they were both taken by ambulance to Franklin. Hope both of these guys are ok, and we are praying for a quick recovery. If anyone knows any more details, just post them on here.
  8. I'm guessing this is gonna be the game of the year in 12a baseball. I sure hope I can make it to the game. I'm gonna go out on a limb and even guess a score: M.P.-7 C.A.-5
  9. How many came on the "little league" 280 ft. (in Right, Center, and Left) field?

    MP vs. Zion

Anyone know who will start on the mound for the Tigers tomorrow???
  11. I completely agree with RHSBASEBALL99. I mean if there is a man standing on first, it is perfectly legal to plow over him, because as the runner your only objective is to get to the bag, not worry about anything else. As a catcher myself, I believe that if a player does not "maliciously" go into the plate, intending to hurt the catcher, then there is no reason that he should have to slide. If the catcher is brave enough to block the plate when waiting on the play to develop, then he is obviously ready for the impact that could happen when the runner arrives.
  12. hey mtsu82...............who are you???

    Pregame

I don't think it's a huge deal. It could go either way, but I guess it never hurts. It helps get a little of the rust off before the game starts.
  14. I am just sitting here wondering why it seems like anytime there is a post bashing one of Zion's sports, it is started or kept going by other Zion students. These types of posts sure aren't showing everyone on CoachT the Christlike attitudes we are supposed to have at Zion. Think about this before you post next time Zion students!
  15. Zion is a much improved program from last year, though they got beat by Page tonight 3-0, they also had two starters out due to injuries, and one will definately be back for the CA game. I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I wouldn't exactly call 3-0 (the score from the Zion/CA game last year) a blowout. And with the better team this year, I know they will fight to the end and hopefully pull out the big W. Go eagles!!! And softballca07, your 10-0 prediction is way off; I'm gonna say it's gonna be a close game! Go Zion.
