  1. Coach Rankin has been contacted by the Warren County administration about every football coaching job opening since 1992. He has never been interested in coming back here. Coach Flatt came up here 3 or 4 years ago but was being paid 125,000.00 per year including his summer camps. I don't think any public school system could come close to that. The administration has interviewed virtually anyone who has showed interest and have contacted many who would never apply just to see what it would take to get them here. None have ever told us what it would take. I guess they were afraid that we would agree and they would have to come here. The fate of any coach in our system is in the hands of the principal under whom they serve. They get a positive or negative recommendation. The Director of Schools takes the principal's recommendation and that is the end of the discussion. there is no conspiracy to keep football down or to not pay for a good coach. The old argument that a new coach is unable to clean house and hire all new coaches is wrong. I don't think we have a single assistant who was coaching when we hired the current head coach. He hired three assistants from outside and has hired the rest from within our system (his choice). Our coach was very successful in his prior coaching job and could probably do well here if we can put all the junk behind us and get on with football. For those who keep up with football, it might interest you to know that most of the former head coaches and assistant coaches have gone on to success in their current coaching jobs.
  2. I know. It just takes me awhile to figure out posting on this board. Warren county has 6 paid assistant coach positions plus 1 position at the middle school. We also have a paid strength coach. They are all doing the best they can with a bad situation. Keep up the hard work and good luck with the rest of your season. Go Pioneers!
