It is my undersatnding that Barnes is getting out of teaching/coaching all together. I heard he was going to work for a insurance company in Union City. Rogers would be an excellent choice for coach at UTM. They are in desperate need of some major changes. Rogers has seen first hand what a real program is supposed to run and it will take someone with that type of first hand knowledge to get UTM on the right track. It would be great to see.

I feel that a look has to be given in the direction of Obion County's QB Wes Moore. He has gone 186/315 passing for a 59% completion rate and only giving up 6 int's. This has netted over 2700 yards 31 TD's and 3 2 pt conv. Some may disagree and say that his numbers are padded because of the type offense the Rebels run. I would tell you to re-examine the numbers. By completing 186 for 2700 yards, that gives him an average 14.6 yard per catch and he is completing 59% of his passes. So show me another offense that is averaging 14.5 yards at least every other play.

Moore past the 2k mark againg in week 7 at Trenton. He was 33/55 420+ yrds 5td's but he did give up 2 more int's. I have seen Ripley's QB agains OC this year and he is a heck of an athlete, but when you are posting up numbers like this every week you have to give the man some credit. I think if he continues at this pace, he will be in the running for 3A Mr. Football.

Jackson Sun reported yesterday (Wed) that R.Hill will be in the starting line up Friday Night against Dresden.

For the first time OC goes into War Memorial Stadium with perhaps a slight edge against this UC ball club. Central has a chance to make history Friday night, not only has OC only been victorious on UC's grid iron one time in the schools existence, Coach Randy Barnes has never in his many years at UC ever lost a homecoming game. A great rivalry always makes way for a great game. Any predictions?

I definitly think it will be a much better contest than when OC played Westview at Martin in 2000. We got spanked, but we were getting spanked by just about everyone. I think it was a good move for a rebuilding program like OC. You can only beat up on those patsy teams so long before they become rent a wins in the players minds. Westview is truly a "next-level team.

I am just glad R.Hill will have graduated and that will be one less speedster OC will have to deal with.

It was my understanding that Coach Hill was the "moron" that made that decision. It probably was a situation like boredguy said. LC just got tired of getting their head handed to them in every sport and refuse to play OC in anything. The administration there has always seemed to have the mentallity, if we can't win, we don't won't to play. I am also sure that Coach Whitby had no influence in this decision.

It is my understanding that Obion County is dropping Lake County as a regular season game and picking up Martin Westview next year. What a swap...Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I understand, I know the Puckett's very well and would never do or say anything to hurt them. It has been a hard road for the past week. Central's students, fans, and anyone else that knew Chris has had it very hard.

Let me start off appologizing for making my previous statement sound uncaring toward Chris's death, his family, and/or the team as a whole. That was not my intention at all, rather to say that I think that the Rebels are a good enough team that normally they would have taken care of a team like LC with or without just one player. It was not meant to belittle the situation in any way. I am sorry if it was construed as such.

After getting a chance to hear the game Friday night, I don't know if OC has what it takes to beat a team like Covington. Eventhough they had the untimely death of one of their key players, they should have handled LC better than they did. This is no the LC of the 80's. Some Jr. High teams could give them a run for their money. I do know that coach Chris Hill will do all he can to get his boys prepared. If Central can minimize the mistakes and contain Covington's backs they may stand a chance. It would be a great game to see, none the less.
