congrats Oakland. U played a more disciplined game than franklin and that made u 5A champs. 2 fumbles by franklin was the difference. As for more physical... Wouldn't say either team was physical. Great season franklin.Keep your heads up and make a run next year

morning of... I'm sure many of the players are lying restlessly in bed and won't recieve too much sleep tonight. Ateast that's how it was for me four years ago. Good luck to both teams. I'm obviously pulling for FranklnliN but I honestly hope for a good hard fought close game. Each team deserves to be here. Franklin fans be careful on the 30 minute(ish) drive. It will seem much longer. Oakland fans you obviously dont have far to drive but still be safe travelng. The atmosphere should be great. Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow night!

Should i mention the 40-14 game against Oakland and Franklin at Oakland in 04?And it what round of the playoffs was oakland elimanted in 04? your score against riverdale was what? no team in the state that year was going to beat that riverdale team. I would be willing to put them up against many top teams in the nation. Oakland is no where near where Riverdale was in 04 and Franklin may be better than the 04 team. If you need to go back four years to tear at the hearts of Franklin fans then i feel bad for you come saturday

Yea and Brentwoods O line was supposed to dominate Franklins D line as well and look where that got em. Sitting at home thinking woulda shoulda coulda. Doesnt matter what Oakland did last week. If the game was played that way then I could say that Franklin has outscored there opponents 124-39 in these playoffs with one shutout against Hunters Lane. If we are going based on past weeks than Franklin should win big. Not how it works. Oakland will get there chance to run the ball and Franklin will get there chances to stop em. Ooltewah wasnt as good as everyone made em out to be, seen em play, and Franklin is much better than Ooltewah and played against much better teams throughout the season. Not saying that Oakland wont have there big plays but i will say that there wont be many trucks driving through Franklins D this week.

^^^^ I would hope that Oakland would do some different things. It is new wrinkles in both teams that make the games interesting.

Difficult way to start their season with 2 away games against difficult teams. Finishing up with Hillsboro isnt going to be an easy task either. What starters does CHS have returning?

And your post doesnt downplay Franklin?? Better? More physical? You make these accusations based on what? Oakland is a great team, wouldnt be playing still if they werent. Same goes to Franklin. I would be surprised if Oakland held Franklins offense to 7 and also surprised if Franklin gives up 21. Its possible, but IMO it won't happen. Blood may very well be thicker than region comraderie, and Crawford may very well be helping out McDaniel, but at the same time with Clayton calling the plays I can guarantee he will have a few new wrinkles and I can also guarantee Webb will have his D ready to play. Seriously wishing Saturday would role around here quicker

Crawford is a top notch DC. As for sharing info with Oakland... I would hope he would rather see the Gold Ball in region 6. I do know that he did help coach J and D Webb back in '04 when we went up against Riverdale, that helped a lot! lol

great for Smyrna being champs the past two years. That's just it tho. The past. Means nothing this year so Oakland beating them is just another two wins in this years season. And I agree brentwood had arguably one of the best defenses In the state and the Reason they are not still playing is because they ran I to Franklin. The past 14 weeks mean nothing come Saturday. Whoever comes out with a better game plan and executes it well will walk away champions of 5A.

Agree with this. Havent found a more obnoxious announcer in the state. Been that way since I was at Franklin.

Don't mean to Say that season wasn't spectacular. Just think we couldve played better in that game. Would have taken a lot for anyone to top that years riverdale team. Here's hoping franklin brings home a gold ball to sit next to the silver we recieved in 04!!

haha yea im sure the drive home was worse after the way we showed up for that game. hoping franklin puts up a better game than we did in '04. it was a great experience though.

I'm confused. How do u say that coMe sat we will find excuses as to y our team got beat and then say that your not predicting an Oakland win?? We predict things as to who will win and how many points becuz we are fans. It's what we do as fans. Oakland may have a great defense but Franklins isn't a push over and I'll go out on a limb and say that Oakland hasn't seen many offenses like Franklins

To answer your question. Yes, williamson county has had minority coaches. Coach palmer was the head coach at franklin my freshman year before heading to coach at page. He also was the coach at Lincoln county a while back.

That surprises me. Usually, not all the time, he puts em in the enndzone. Weather may have had something to do with of or maybe a scheme franklin was using. I'm not sure because I wasn't there. How was the punting last night? Gentry has been solid from what I have seen

don't think franklin will worry about oakland return game. Franklin special teams is usually top notch and this years punter has a big leg and pretty good with directional punts. He also handles kickoffs and usually puts em in the endzone
