  1. It's gonna take work, but FRHS can and will beat Oakland.
  2. Father Ryan's Tish Pilkerton and Kristen Archie...They are VERY GOOD
  3. When I hung around the Vanderbilt campus while attending FRHS (when it was just across West End from Vandy), we were designated as AAA (although most agreed that we were much smaller)....we were well known to be very competitive against the best the state had to offer......look at MBA's results vs. say...a Dobbyns-Bennett or a Jacksonville Bolles (results in football). What I'm saying Ego is that when you are in D2 and you are one of the programs with great assets to your side like the afformentioned...you should consider yourself against the biggest and best in the state....but really what I am most trying to convey is that when I went to FRHS we were indeed AAA on a A-AAA system....so of corse I'm gonna compare D2 vs. elite's of D1...I have a post in this thread referring to Ryan vs. East high of Nashville back in the early 80's. East was AAA and loaded with talent...Ryan took them out in a great game by using it's talent combined with great dicipline (sounds like D2 ball to me).
  4. Actually Harry during most years it would indeed be competiton....D2 elite could easily hang with D1's elite. D2 would definately have thier hands full however....The rivalries over the years would be awesome though.
  5. FRHS is at least a decent team I hope the rest concede...if not, well, we hope to see you soon. Way to go Hiller....you are one tough MOFO....and to Raymond...I'm coming to see you wrestle for the first time very soon. I'm starting to think FRHS can win the dual match against MBA...........What do you MBA fans think? [Edited by frhsrules on 12-22-02 1:26A] [Edited by frhsrules on 12-22-02 1:28A]
  6. Hey MBA narcissist...I'm quite sure that many D1 coaches from the winter of 2001 would confidently take the challenge of your MBA title team who beat my Father Ryan team by less than 15 in the state finals....and we beat your team that year in the region finals in O.T.. I'm sure you got fired up about the Cosby thing, and I do remember that game and how it was announced that MBA was without the afformentioned stars. But I think this latest arguement in the thread has to do with the split of pubs and prives. And I think the arguement is stupid because Dingo was only trying to say that in a bad year of D2 (with our limited numbers) we have been caught arguing "with arrogance" about games that should be precceeeded with humility in comparrison to some of the rest of the state schools. In your latest post JM you seem to show that same arrogance....I know all about D2 football and we are somthing else (especially if my school could pick up our end of the bargin)...but D2 vs. D1 in basketball is another game. The way I take Dingo's post is for us to keep talking smack amongst ourselves, just don't start thinking we are world beaters....because the old rivalries before the split blow away the likes of MBA vs. BAYLOR and FATHER RYAN vs. MUS....and we all know it's the truth. 7. The Lady Irish appear to have gotten thier Bootays kicked last night (unfortunately for me and many others). Can anyone shed light on this game?....I figured the lady irish could take this club...but we seem to have problems against larger foes at the begining of the season (traditionally)...someone tell us about this ball game
  8. I could never spell it correctly but I feel most will have some idea when I type the name of Tyrus Baynehm who played for a school in Nashville called East around 1983. This Son of a Gun, was all that at 6-7, light brown skin, and veigns popping out of his ears. Just so happens...I was an enamoured freshman at Father Ryan, who heard our team was playing one of the best in the state. Fact was, our team was awesome...a guy played for us named Reggie Little (ask your father if your too young)...TO THE POINT....It would be awesome to have NO SPLIT...but we have one and let's go from here. Dingo, not all of the people that post think D-2 is all that (as a matter a fact, as well educated as I and the rest probably are, even when we talk smack we are very aware of clubs in Memphis etc...). Go FRHS...D-2 represnt well....oh,#5 FRHS and Reggie Little upset #3 East and Tyrus that night...and the East high school student crowd was awesome...you folks can imagine how Father Ryan's was....... 9. Ms. Kristen Archie...Father Ryan High School...Hustle&Talent
  10. Hope she is just fine...and if not now (to be fine that is)...get well soon and Merry Christmas to Ms. Archie and her fine team.....GO FRHS
  11. Mr. Gravity, you are actually right in one sense...FRHS must have Kristen Archie to win against D2 elite...I'd guess that ECS qualifies in that catagorie. I don't know when the team found out they lost Kristen, but consider the psychology: FRHS was on a roll entering the road trip (over 200 miles) and ECS spanked them out of the playoffs the last time the two teams met. I'd guess the Lady Irish were on an insecure mode knowing they were without thier version of Kobe Bryant (although whatever the mode I'm not sure FRHS could beat ECS in Nash-vegas or Memphis without Kristen). Yet the Lady Irish should get a lot of credit for rebounding against an incredible Briarcrest program (down or not). My guess is that the psychology from Friday's game to Saturday's for the Lady Irish was night and day....Also, Pilkerton is a very fine player...but if the pressure to lead a team to a win is on, Father Ryan would rather have Archie if one of the stars had to be injured. Pilkerton plays down low predominantly, while Archie floats the floor creating havok that both the girls and the team feed off of. You are right Mr. Gravity (in my opinion), I was and still am insinuating that without Kristen Archie the Lady Irish would suffer huge in a quest for either a region or state championship. It just so happens however, I believe Ms. Archie is good enough to be a winner over both Mincy from Briarcrest and Baker from HH for D2 TEAM MVP.....losing those players from thier respective programs would be tough on them as well...I hope things work out for the Irish and Kristen because they are very good. I still contend a healthy Irish team and HH team are the best in D2...with all due respect to a great bunch of the rest. Go FATHER RYAN [Edited by frhsrules on 12-19-02 1:28A]
  12. Kristen Archie did not play against ECS or Briarcrest....this changes my thoughts about the mighty mighty Lady Irish. I saw FRHS slam dunk a very good single A DCA club a couple of weeks ago...to the tune of 70-29 (although I thought the game should have been closer...DCA is a good club). Anyhoo, Kristen Archie is a next level player on offense (I think she had 25 in the game) but a huge impact player on D. Get well Kristen, keep working hard Lady Irish, you ladies might get to see your "good friends" ECS somewhere down the road. [Edited by frhsrules on 12-18-02 4:24A]
  13. Thanks for the reply hoop fan....losing Archie would be a crushing blow to the Irish's dream for a state title (more than likely)
  14. Can anyone verify if Kristen played against ECS and or Briarcrest...And...is she doing O.K.???
  15. Kristen Archie is a legit D2 first team all state pick....if she did not play against ECS then the lady irish were handicapped severely. I think FRHS is much better than Harding Academy, based on the schedule results you can find on this site...I am very confident in this statement....I also believe that Father Ryan would have swept ECS and Briarcrest in either Nashville or Memphis if Kristen Archie was 100 percent...I understand "If if's and but's were candy and nuts, what a wonderful world it would be". So I'll tell all that with no excuses...I believe ECS should be ranked #1 in the state...followed closely by FRHS....and trust me...THE HARPETH HALL SCHOOL... OH, and the only reason I give ECS the nod is for the obvious...if Archie was out of the game ECS' win is lessoned greatly in my book . I also believe that the Harpeth Hall school will rise to the top....Until proven otherwise, FRHS and HARPETH HALL are the tops in D2....BUT...since ECS won against the IRISH...you're #1....for now [Edited by frhsrules on 12-17-02 2:36A]
  16. Is the girl from FRHS in the top 10 of midstate in "those who know best" opinion? If not.....I think she has HUGE potential. I think she can become one of the best in the state....GO IRISH
  17. Go Irish...We know we are not the team from last year...BUT we do know this: If we finished 3 seed out of D2 middle, and people were saying how bad we were...we would still fight to pull the upset in the playoffs...I guess we are beginning to see who the real teams are: Harding Academy....and I'm sure many will follow....There is NO WAY FRHS could beat Harding...but we will try...Father Ryan is not even in Harding's league...but we will try to somehow win
  18. Thanks E, glad your landed (I remember you from another post)....thank you for your synopsis..this will be a fun season, and though I hate to say it, I do not think Father Ryan will win the title....but I sure as heck hope it...GO IRISH
  19. Mabey by post 777 you will type something intelligent.....how bout' those apples?
  20. Thank God I dont have to wait on YOU.....IRISH win...IRISH win...
  21. Please post your knowledge of the Father Ryan vs. Briarcrest result
  22. Thanks for the update "I think" I hope you are right. It just so happens I think FRHS can win state this season...it also just so happens that we got spanked last night by ECS....GO IRISH, enjoy the holidays and get ready for the TEETH of D2 ball.
  23. after ECS put the hurttin on us again...can the irish escape memphis 1-1?
  24. And for today's version of Embarrassment Tonight...I had heard of Allie from her running accolades, ie...state cross and track. I know nothing of her accolades on the hardwood, but I'll trust more knowledgeable ones that she rocks. I referred to Allie, thinking she was a girl named Sarah Baker whom I've heard is nothing less than a player-hater. So...to the rest of youz-guys out there that think your something special, I give you Sarah Baker from Harpeth Hall...I hear she is something else....And to the aforementioned ALLIE Bohannon...this girl is at the very minimum, a VERY GOOD runner (I hear she smokes a mile). Go FRHS [Edited by frhsrules on 12-14-02 12:14A] [Edited by frhsrules on 12-14-02 12:22A]
  25. Does Allie run for Harpeth Hall? From what I've heard this girl rocks. After what the honeybears did to Riverdale, and the way this Bohannan has played, I venture to guess that she is VERY worthy of being mentioned in the POTENTIAL column, so here I am....GO IRISH...(This girl is pretty tough from what I've seen and heard...she ranks with the best in the state easily(at her age)...Don't let D2 fool you, Harpeth Hall can EASILY play with the best of them, just check thier stats). Father Ryan and Harpeth Hall, easy contenders for D1 AAA top 10 or 5 in 2002-2003 season.
