KevB has the list, but he retired from CoachT... Maybe he will post one more time to let us know. I only know that from Pigeon Forge, Brianna Garrison, Whitney Dodgen & Nora Ramsey made the All District Team with Kendra Newman, Shanae Rayfield & Haley Johnson receiving Honorable Mention (I hope that is right) I heard through the grapevine that most of the District coaches didn't think any PF players were good enough to be on the All District team.

What colleges are these girls considering? Have any committed or signed yet? Hearing great things about Redd, Baughman & Pietrowski!

Shanae played great in all the games this week. She was undoubtably the most valuable player, although I thought many girls played great (from all teams) this week as well. Kendra is the best point guard around. By the way, she and Shanae are 1st cousins. Kendra and Brianna have both committed to Virginia Intermont. They are really excited about getting to play college ball together (they are best friends and cousins as well)

Now there's a statement I don't hear often! I believe the Claiborne-Chuckey Doak score was 56 - 40 (it's posted on the scoreboard). I would have like to have seen that game. I knew the Lady Bulldogs could do it, they have played really well in this tournament. (Thanks again ladies for helping me cheer tonight! ) I would like to see both teams at state as well, but unfortunately it can't work that way. Both teams are in the same bracket. If we both win our games on Monday, we will play each other on Wednesday and only one can advance to the championship game. Pigeon Forge - South Greene score was 67-54, although it was a much closer game than the score indicates. The score was 24-24 at half time. Good luck to all the teams next week! thumb

I agree, we have the best post players in the league. Ramsey & Dodgen have played awesome this season, but don't forget about Shanae Rayfield. She is our leading rebounder and has had to play more outside this year due to all our sickness. At this point, I don't think anyone cares much about the all district/tournament....we just want to win and go to Murfreesboro! thumb Actually, our guards did get the ball to the inside last night...Ramsey had 19 points! But it still helps when everyone is well, so it wouldn't hurt to say a prayer for speedy recovery!

Do we have the game times for next week yet? I noticed they have already entered District 1 teams in their perspective place on the bracket, but the date/time has not been entered yet.

Sports Guy, What station will the Claiborne/CD game be broadcast on? I don't think we'll be able to make the game, but we'd like to listen to it. And will it online as well? Big game tonight at 7:00! The Lady Tigers will have to step it up tonight with two of our starters being sick with mono and recovering from the stomach flu.

I'm one of the first to complain about bad officiating (saw quite a bit of it in the S.G./CD game last night) but even if you get sent to the line...you still have to make those freethrows. Looks like the Cyclones did a pretty good job of it...75% from the freethrow line! Though I didn't get to see the game, I'm sure it was a well deserved win by the undefeated champs in District 1. Like, Sports Guy, I hope it's Elizabethton & Pigeon Forge in the finals. We've got a few games to go before we get there though. By the way, Sports Guy, it was nice meeting you last night. Don't forget to post something about the radio coverage!

Congratulations to the Lady Tigers and Lady Rebels for big wins tonight! Looks like we meet again for one last District Championship Game! thumb Both teams barely got by with a win, but most importantly...they did win. Claiborne Co. played the best game I've seen them play all year. They pressed the entire game and never let up. Good job, Lady Bulldogs! Play like that tomorrow and you'll get a win against CD.

Yeah, I would rather have a team that contributes equally and win all their games than to have one stand out player. We actually have about 7 players that contribute pretty evenly on the floor, which is to our advantage. If you shut one player down, there will be another to pick up the slack. What bothers me most of all is that none of the coaches thought any player from PF should make "all district." That one, I can't understand.

If they win today (at 4:00) they play at 7:00 on Friday night. If they lose, they will play at 4:00 on Friday.

Wrong again....I never asked you "who" you were talking about. I asked if you were talking about coaches or fans. You are a Greene County fan, but you don't support the twins.. You still don't tell us who you are. If you've been on here very long, you know that I am Brianna Garrison's mom. I take nothing for granted and neither does our team/coach. We will have to play our best to win today and tomorrow (against any of these teams). However, don't place any bets on SG or CD "handing it to us" because we have already beat both teams TWICE this season. Go Lady Tigers! thumb

gunner2... I am defensive because you have implied that our coach has no class or no respect for other teams. You started the thread and then added that you "heard" our coach. If you were right, I wouldn't have said anything. However, because I know you are wrong, it makes me angry that you would imply such a thing. Do you care to tell us exactly who you are? That might give more weight to your statements on here. For now, you are simply someone hiding behind a screen name making absurd accusations.

You are wrong about that. Her daughters were with her and might have cheered for some of their friends at GP. I sat across from her at the game and know that she did not cheer for anyone. If she was behind you, you couldn't see who was cheering for whom. As far as etiquette goes, she isn't the one who told one of her players to "take another player out" during a game. I'm not going to continue this debate with you over whether or not she "cheered." I know the facts and if you think you can do any damage to her rep by implying she has bad etiquettes, then be my guest. Seems like no one likes the winning team or coach anyways.

Gunner2....I did watch my coach and like I said...she did not cheer for or against anyone. If you think otherwise, give details...which game, etc. The only cheering going on was some of our parents were cheering for GP because they are friends of ours. You might be trying to stir something up, but you are making false implications.

I was at the tournament on Monday (only day the girls have played so far) and I didn't see any coaches cheering for any other teams. I did see some of the players & fans cheering for teams, but not coaches. Of course, I might not have been in a position to see a particular coach, but I can tell you that our coach did not cheer for any team. She sat across the floor from us and did not express any emotion during the other games. Are you talking about coaches or fans???

Looks like we'll get to see the Lady Tigers and Lady Bulldogs play each other once again on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. After watching Claiborne play Rutledge last night, I can see how others think their guards are really good. Parkey & Simmons played great on defense. The Cumberland Gap team was cheering for Rutledge (or should I say against Claiborne) and this seemed to motivate Parkey even more. I haven't seen them play any team other than PF, and up against different teams, they play a different ballgame. Back to the original question in this thread, "Are PF guards as good as Claiborne's?" Claiborne's guards can't play PF that well because of our defense. They can't shut us down on press either. One thing I do agree with MrV1 on (about the only thing as well) is that we have the best posts players in the area. Our guards are among the best in the area as well. We have an inside/outside game and that is one reason we are where we are today. Will Claiborne's guards (Parkey & Simmons) be as good as PF (Newman & Garrison) when they are seniors? Yes, I believe they will. They both play a lot like Newman and Garrison when they were sophomores.

Any news to report yet? I really hate to hear that about the Coach's daughter. I hope everything turns out okay for them. This would be a bad time for Coach Parkey to resign. He has a good team coming up. They are playing well considering they are mostly sophomores and juniors.
