It's very sad. I went to a few games this season. It's sad times for all sports at Claiborne. The kids are playing hard. I hate it for them the most. Are they going to open up these positions again.

I was at the game last night at Union County. I had not seen Claiborne County play for awhile. I cannot believe how quickly the program has dropped and so fast. What has happened?

What are the penalties for violating this rule?

Does anyone know if this is a violation for schools to pay for individual camps for their players?

Former coach Parkey will return next season. How long will it take for him to rebuild the program to its past success? I heard that he has already been on campus and has met with school officials about the job.

Claiborne has not been a state contender but always a contender for a possible state tournament seed. They have been regional contenders for years. True, they are now only contenders for a district championship. I did watch the Hancock game. Their schedule is also weak when compared to previous years. They may simply need to carefully look at the future of the program again at the end of this season. I didnt think this coach was a bad elementary coach but the high school game and this program may demand more then what can be done. Claiborne's weak schedule will hurt them come regional tourney time.

Without question the program isn't where it was a few years ago. Claiborne went from top-notch coach to one that isn't bad, the current coach just can't prepare these players for a very competitive schedule like he could. I think that is why Claiborne has down graded its schedule so that it can be competitive with all of its opponents. Their fans are some of the most supportive around and expect to one of the top teams in E TN. I still think that they have a very talented underclassmen.

I watched Claiborne play at Campbell last night. Claiborne players play hard but the X's and O's may be lacking again this season. Claiborne came back from a large deficit and came within a few points only to see the X and O decisions take place. The fans I sat with last night told me that Claiborne had already had an all-district player from last year quit the team. I was impressed by the young players.

If this is true then this could lead to more problems within the school and community. Statements like this are not acceptable by just a coach but by anyone. If true then the coach needs to quit.

You forgot to add Fields and Collett who are sophomores to the list that left the team. Why did so many starters quit????????????? You had players who were playing 2 to 4 quarters a game quit????????????????????

Claiborne lost to Cocke Co. last night 54 - 29 for its 20th loss of the season.

Cumberland Gap beat Claiborne for the first time at home since the new schools opened up 45 - 39.

I was at the game last night. It was a battle between 2 teams of near equal abilities. Union County has not won a district game in over 4 years. This is CC first win in their last 10 regular season games. They are 3-13. Was this a game to judge CC or UC? Can 1 single player beat the top teams in the district ? I saw a player who had started some games walk off the floor and quit the team last night. How many does this make since the coach arrived last spring? I watched CC best varsity player playing in the JV game. Why? I thought that both teams played hard and the game was exciting because it was not the usual 30 point blowout. This is the most excited I had seen UC fans in years.
