Cumberland Gap beat Claiborne last night in Tazewell. Im so proud of the coaches and players. Very few thought we could win this away game. This is a big rivalry victory.

It will take a while for Union County to rebuild. Their community can tell you about this. Ask around. This coach has developed a habit of controversy and failure at coaching high school. No community will support any coach such as this. Too many issues, too many problems, and she has little to no support from the students and most of her players. Talk to the seniors that have played for her. It this fair to the students and community? I agree that it is time for this community to come together. It can only hasppen when this program is under a new coach.

There will be alot of pressure put on parkey to return. He may be the only person who can straighten this mess out. I know that he has great support from the players and community. Everyone wants him to return. The program needs him to return.

Several upset players had to have a meeting with coach to discuss the problems that have continued to grow this season. Also heard that Claiborne may have a new coach next season no matter what happens the rest of this one. Everyone is tired of this that has lasted for two seasons now. Who would be the leading person to take over this program? Who can this rebuild and restore this program? This will take a while just like it is taking at Union County. Their program has made much improvement while Claiborne has continued to go down.

claiborne plays David Branerd Christian School (K-12)enrollment under 100 and silverdale Christian academy 430 Pre-K - 12). Come on we all know that cook has said that they were going to play in a tough tournament in chattanooga. Claiborne has over 900 students.(9-12) They've already played a homeschool and now this. I agree it is a disappointment to the players and school. Does this sound like a tough tournament? Maybe to her it is.

I was at the UC game and the Claiborne fans were talking about that they had not ever beaten a team with a winning record since they have become the Bulldogs. I find this hard to believe. That would cover a span of over five years. Is this true?

Don't forget that assistant Coach Harmon was also a big part of last year. Both of these coaches knew how to deal with the players on and off the court. They had the ability chew players out one night during a game and the next day be sitting, laughing, and joking at a restaurant the next day with the same players. The players understood.

I heard this weekend that Claiborne will get a new coach by next season? This is due to the many problems that have and continue to surround the program. Are there any coaches being considered?

I agree with you. Why would they celebrate about a win over us? We have only beat Claiborne one time in over 10 years and never at their new high school. I was surprised that this was their first home win of the year. Claiborne has been one of the most dominant teams in our area over the last 10 years. They were always in the top 10 in most polls. I noticed that they are now ranked 102 by coacht???? I was told at the game by one of CHS basketball parents that the sophomores, juniors, and seniors left on the team had never lost a home district game ever until this year???? Claiborne has won 4 out of their last 5 district games. But haven't they typically gone undefeated or only lose 1 district game a year. Did they not go undefeated a year ago? Why such a big celebration about beating teams that you have always beaten? I would agree that the remaining players did however play good against us.

He definitely knows his X's and O's. He was at the G-P -Rutledge game. I find it surprising that after he scouts for Claiborne that they have since then beat these two teams. I also heard that he has been asked to return next season. I personally know that the community and students would like for him to return. My understanding is that his daughter chose not to play college ball and that as his reason for retiring. Claiborne also is getting new a new principal this week.

Who would have thought this would have happened a year ago? I would have never thought that Union Co would be ranked higher than Claiborne Co by coachT. This has to be the first time in these rankings. Does anyone know who and where this new coach who has made this team competitive came from? Also has G-P become the team to beat in this district?
