The Lady Tigers beat Chuckey-Doak (54-46) tonight to claim the #1 title in AA District 2! These girls are playing hot this season. Four players in double digits tonight and in several games every player on the team has scored. They have a deep bench and could very well go all the way this year! So far, they are undefeated in their district with two games left to play.

Congratulations Cyclones! We'll see ya in the Regionals! Pigeon Forge beat Chuckey-Doak tonight to clinch the #1 AA District 2 Championship title. They are also undefeated (thus far) in their district.

I don't know much about the schools in the A class, but here are my top 5 for AA... 1. Pigeon Forge 2. Austin East 3. Oliver Springs 4. Elizabethton 5. Chuckey-Doak

Nice write-up in The Greeneville Sun about the game. This article highlights Pigeon Forge more than our own hometown paper. Although, the sports writer had one thing backwards...South Greene shot poorly against our "man defense" and then "ate it up" when we switched to zone in the 2nd period. That's too bad for Rutledge. She's a really good player. What grade is she in? I can't say that I'm sad she won't be playing against us, but I do hope she recovers soon. I am glad it wasn't too serious. Bri had to miss 3 games due to sickness and it is really tough coming back and trying to play like before. Get well soon...Casey!

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers, joness. I should have been more clear in my statement about the coach and earning respect from his players. I did not "bash" him. I didn't elaborate as to why I felt the players didn't show him respect because I didn't want to "bash" the players. I applaud him for disciplining his players, but last night he had players fussing at him and getting away with it. Okay, now that you have taken the liberty of "bashing" me on here, let me defend myself. "All she does is sit on a computer all day and discuss rumors." How about looking through my previous posts and see just how often I post on CoachT. Not that often. Discuss rumors? The only rumor I have ever discussed was the subject of Ricker's resignation. Forgive me, but many others did so as well. I really like your derogatory remark about me having or not having a job. Like that is really any of your business. I tell you what, joness, if you have really think I am such a bad person, why don't you meet me face-to-face, find out a little about me and then if you still feel this way, be my guest to trash me. Until then, please don't misread or misinterpret my comments and talk trash about me. One thing I always try to do when I post is to make sure I have not offended anyone with my comments. The Lady Tigers got their first-ever win on South Greene's court tonight 53-47. They started out with a good lead in the first quarter, but several treys brought the Lady Rebels back. It was a close game til the end. I believe one player did quit and I agree with KevB...South Greene is pretty average without the Waddell twins. It is very obvious watching them play. I think tonight they lacked coaching leadership and discipline. It would appear that their new coach has not earned their respect yet. They have just gotten off to a really bad start with all the troubles revolving around Ricker. They are still tough and will be hard to beat the second time around.

South Greene is not to be underestimated, especially at on their home court...but I agree that Pigeon Forge will win this one. It will be a close one though.

Sounds like Tuesday night will be a big night in East Tennessee. Pigeon Forge will travel to South Greene as well.

We were finally able to add the two games on another computer, but they aren't showing up yet. I suppose that will take a few days. Pigeon Forge plays Livingston Academy in the Championship game tomorrow. This should be a good match up. LA played well against Clay Co. tonight. Both teams looked good and I was surprised to see the final score (left just after 3rd quarter began). Of course, it never hurts to have home court advantage, not to mention the fact that LA only had to play one game to advance to the Championship game.

There is no note in red letters. When I try to "add" games, nothing happens. It returns me to the same screen. I usually email CoachT, but I saw his post about being at the hospital with his son and didn't think he would be checking his email. Aren't there other moderators who are able to take care of this?

Who is updating the schedule while CoachT is away? Pigeon Forge schedule needs to be updated to reflect the win against Pickett Co. today. Also, they play Livingston Academy tomorrow at 7:00 in the Championship game. I tried to add the games, but I can't.

She played her first game last night, but she is not back 100% yet. She didn't start last night, but she had a lot of minutes. Coach said she didn't mean to play her that much...afraid of over doing it, but she did play one heck of a game! I know I'm biased...being her mom and all ...but I'm also the first one to point out her mistakes. She didn't score much (only 4 pts.) but she had 6 assists and 2 steals...not bad against a big rival team like GP. Hopefully she will be back full force after Christmas. Kendra is doing much better too and hopefully will get to play a little on Friday. Thanks again for your well wishes! LTM

Brianna Garrison & Kendra Newman and they both have mono and will be out another week or so. They do play a lot and both have been starting varsity players since their freshman year. They are seniors this year. But, our other starters have been playing exceptionally well without them and the 2nd string is very strong. Thanks for the well wishes! It is about to kill them not getting to play right now!

So, did LA get a replacement team for Unaka? How about the schedule, is it finalized? I know Pigeon Forge plays their first game on the 28th at 4:00 p.m. How about the others?

We play them this Friday night and I was wondering if anybody had any info on them. I can't find much, except that they are private and made it to sub-state last year.

You're right! That should have been my 4th point...GP is no push-over! They seem to be headed downhill though after two losses (Rutledge & Cumberland Gap) but you never know with this district!

Fortunately, the Lady Tigers only have one more district game until after Christmas. It will be a tough one though. 1) it will be at GP, 2) GP is a big rival and will be playing hard to win this one, and 3) it looks like Kendra & Brianna won't be playing in that game. However, the team has proved they can win if they set their minds to it and play hard like they did last night. As hard as it was for Bri and Kendra to sit on that bench...they were very proud of their teammates.

Sportsman...well, let's just let it go and enjoy the rest of the season. You still have your coach for Football and all that matters is how you feel about him. Just be careful how you post things so that you don't offend anyone directly. If you don't want to cheer for the Lady Rebels, you can always cheer for the Lady Tigers when we come to your house!

Just to clear something up...when I started this thread, I don't think Ricker had resigned or I didn't know if he had. At the time, the rumors had just started circulating throughout the community (not on CoachT). I was hoping to find out if the rumors were true.
